safraz, as per your request:

Pocket PC Auto-Installation

1. Save the downloaded zip file to your desktop on your computer. Open the zip after it is saved and extract all the files contained within to your desktop. .

2. Connect your Pocket PC device to its associated port or cradle on your computer and allow it to sync.

3. Double-click on the "_setup.exe" file that should now be on your desktop to start the automatic installation.

4. The Town Compass Installer window will appear. Make sure the "Town Compass DataViewer application" and "Town Compass PRODUCT" boxes are checked (you may uncheck the DataViewer application box if you already have DataViewer installed on your device), then click on the "Install" button.

5. The Add/Remove Programs window will appear and a popup window will ask "Install PRODUCT and other pending installations using the default application install directory?" Click "Yes" to install the file to the Pocket PC device's RAM. Users with storage devices on their handhelds may change the destination of the file by clicking "No" and then selecting "Storage Card" from the dropdown menu that appears. Click here for details about Pocket PC storage devices. A pop-up window will inform you to check your mobile device screen to see if additional steps are necessary. Click "OK." Check your Pocket PC's screen and click "OK" in any popup windows located there.

6. The files have been transfered from your desktop computer to your handheld. Open DataViewer from the Programs listing to view your DataViewer Databases.

Hope everything will turn out well.Cheers! :ilove:

roniedahot, this is an extension to what we discuss when you PM me early today, concerning the issue. After researching the support for this app, I reckoned the followings cud be the key issue on your problem. Please observe the followings. Let me know the outcome. Good luck bro! :iphonepost:

You probably have a cache problem. Sometimes DataViewer gets stuck in cache on Pocket PC devices, particularly after multiple installations in a row.
First, try taking your storage card out of your device and then tapping on DataViewer from the Programs menu. It should open and show the message "No Databases loaded. Visit PocketDirectory.com to download a database."
If so, try re-inserting the storage card and see if the product Database appears; if it doesn't immediately load, tap the refresh button while in DataViewer (the icon at the bottom of the screen that looks like a white piece of paper with 2 rotating green arrows on it).
If DataViewer DOESN'T open when you take the storage card out (i.e. the icon becomes highlighted in the Programs menu but nothing else happens, or it briefly opens and then immediately quits), then unfortunately your device will require a hard reset. In this case, do a hard reset and then reinstall ONLY DataViewer, NOT the Database files, all while still leaving the storage card out of the handheld's card slot.
Unfortunately this will require you to reinstall your other software programs as well; make sure to sync your Pocket PC device before performing the hard reset.

i hv d same problem plz help !!!!!!

...strange... the app is working fine on my device.. what device are u running sir, PPC or Smartphone?

Anyway if the problem is caused due to type of devices (i.e.ppc or smartphone) I am uploading the specific viewers for respective device for your reinstallation.

But if that does not settle it, pl check out the software homepage at h##ps://###.pocketdirectory.com/support/support.aspx

Good luck!

I got the same problem and this is what I do. Install the data viewer at your ppc main memory. Then copy the installed folder to the storage card. Then you can proceed to install the encyclopedia to your storage card. It work for me .... Hope this helps

Storage Devices (Town Compass Data Viewer): Addendum
1. DataViewer may be run off of MMC cards, SD cards, and CF cards.

2. In order for DataViewer to read Databases from storage cards, the Databases should be placed in any of the following storage card directories:
• Root of card
• \Town Compass\*
• \Programs\Town Compass\
• \Palm\Launcher\
• \Palm\Programs\Town Compass\
*Note: The Database can be placed in any subdirectory within this directory and DataViewer will still be able to find it.

3. In order for DataViewer to read Databases from the handheld RAM, the Databases must be placed in any one of the following RAM directories:
• Root of device
• \Program Files\Town Compass\*
• \My Documents\*
*Note: The Database can be placed in any subdirectory within this directory and DataViewer will still be able to find it.

Troubleshooting

I have a storage card on my handheld; can I view the Databases from it?
DataViewer may be run off of MMC cards, SD cards, and CF cards. All Databases work normally even if loaded on a storage card.
It doesn't matter which directory the Database is located in as long as it is in one of these locations on the storage card.

Please read the above carefully for those having problem with viewing your database when running the app. Cheers!

I had had exactly the same problem and I managed to resolve it by installing the Data viewer (if you are doing an automatic install by using the setup.exe file simply uncheck the box that refers to the EB 05) and the EB 05 separately (same procedure but this time check the EB 05 box and uncheck the Data Viewer box). It worked fine afterwards. I installed both on the storage card of my pocket pc (win2003). Good luck.
