does anyone tried Yahoo! Go or Opera mini using the new rates for globe? (Php5 = 15min) It always say 'subcribe to packet data first', but when I use the built-in gprs browser in my phone(nokia 6300) it can connect.

Anyway about your free streaming problem, I think one thing to make sure is you have 3G signal because streaming won't work o standard GSM network. Next is make sure you have correct streaming setup.

Add this to Settings->Connection->Access Points
Create a New access point with these details:
Connection Name: myGlobe STREAM
Data Bearer: Packet data
Access point name: real.globe.com.ph
User name: [BLANK]
Prompt password: No
Password: [BLANK]
authentication: Normal
Homepage: [BLANK]
Go to Advanced Settings:
Network type: IPv4
Phone IP Address / Name servers: both Automatic
Proxy serv. address: 203.177.42.214
Proxy port number: 8080

After ensuring you have the access point above, go to your real player and make sure you have selected this access point

Go to RealPlayer->Settings->Connection->Network
and select the access point above.
Leave other settings with their default values.

If above steps are finished add these links to your phone.
Go to Gallery->Links then select New link
1. For ABSCBN - rstp://203.177.154.141/rtpencoder/abscbn.sdp
2. For GMA - rstp://203.177.154.141/rtpencoder/gma7.sdp
3. For CNN - rstp://203.177.154.141/rtpencoder/cnn.sdp

As far as i know, the "GO and send to 2951" would only send you the access point settings of gprs,iNet and mms. it won't actually activate your iNet (correct me if i'm wrong). Nowadays, iNet capable sims are very rare (i got mine 4 years ago, but only found out about its iNet capabilities 2 years ago when i got active in hacking globe's ass). but if you want an iNet capable sim badly, you could try globe's starter sim. i overheard that these sims are iNet capable. but take note, i also overheard that these sims are not that stable when it comes to services. that means it may eat up your load, weak signal, etc. so use at your own risk. nweiz, i'll be glad to help you in any ways possible. Ü

yEAH. i heard about the starter sims got iNet activated already. hmm... i actually got 4 Globe sims but i think the 0917 sim that i got is iNet activated.. hmm worth a check later...

oh well.. what makes me crazy in visiting this thread is im waithing for somone who will post the streaming settings so that we could watch tv free... i never had a chance of doing that.. some of the forumers here done that already but i somtimes think its got to do with luck and the cellphone unit? hahaha

ohh was also thinking about that.. thanks for confirming.. im gonna buy a starter sim now! haha! anyways.. they said the starter sims are only inet capable but doesnt have streaming activated.. wtf is wrong with globe having so many special kiinds of sim.. all of us are not enjoying all of their services!:grrr:

i dont think we can download or even stream using this ubt.. because globe blocked any connections coming from a java client...i think.. haha! bcuz i think the reason we can connect to the net using this opera mini because we dont use globe servers.. we used proxies and redirected our route to opera server instead of globe servers..

oh what i mean is.. globe should have activated all sims w/ all services like gprs, 3G and streaming.. my globe sim now cannot even connect to all services exept gprs even if im not gonna use any ubt technique.. i know we can always activate it by calling their customer service.. but for me it is really a hassle and why is there a need to call them for activation? they should have activated it at the first place.. i'd rather gamble a new sim rather than waiting for another 24hrs for the activation.

maybe your streaming is not yet activated.. the only thing to do is go to your nearest globe customer service just like what ryanchanmd said. Because even if you have 1 bar in your 3G signal, you can still connect to any streaming links as long as it is available.

hmm.. worth a trip to the Bcenters.. well.. is it for free when ill ask to activate or they have a fee? hahaha!

asking for activation is free.. but i think their hotline is not free. I havent tried calling hehe! I heard from another forum that you have to be ready to give your excuses for activation. They said they wont activate your sim just as simple as asking for it. You have to have a valid reason for activation. Globe is really a hassle huh? :P

I think it is comparable from the speed in Opera Mini. The main reason I tried this was because I can't download anything from Opera Mini!

it means that your 3G signal is weak. Try setting your connection to UMTS mode. I use UMTS mode when streaming so that i can have the highest 3G signal my phone can receive. Because sometimes when using dual mode, most of the time your phone doesnt even use 3G signal and prioritize the gsm signal. I hope this helps! :ilove:

I never tried streaming using dual mode because the 3G signal here in our village is kinda weak. I get like a max of 3.. Thats why when I use dual mode i always get the error "not enough bandwidth".

My suggestion is Browse using Opera Mini trick, Download uisng Opera 8.65 trick.
1. Browse until the file you want to download using Opera mini.
2. Continue until you are prompted with the download settings in Opera mini where you can find the URL of the file you are downloading, blah blah blah. plus many many other text box. You would already know this if you already tried downloading in Opera mini
3. Copy the URL of the download file

5. Enjoy!!

Oh and by the way, use myGlobe CONNECT in Opera 8.65 okay?

3. make sure ur proxy address is
proxy server = 203.177.42.214
port number= 8080

1. the opera mini mod trick only works for myGlobe CONNECT
2. the unli MMS trick only works for sending MMS.. not for receiving MMS if you have 0 load. I dont know what exactly is the minimum balance for receiving MMS but I think it is 20+?

yes, it will always appear to be in mobile version because before you open the site, the site first detects your OS so that it would know what kind of version friendster is gonna display. Unless you know how to change the browser type, i think it would be possible.

PS. All of my answers above only comes from my personal knowledge about computers/internet. I'm not an IT graduate or sumthing, i might be wrong. :D

I found one that is perfectly working for my N6630. Here is the steps I followed.

1. Important to remove the Check in Shadow Connect in settings.
2. Go to the download link page you want. What I mean in download link page is where you find the "link", usually with a label "Download" or something like that.

4. Save it. Once you are back to the download page. Press 1 while the download link is highlighted. This will bring you to the download settings.

6. Check "Referrer". Then Select Download.
7. OM Mod will ask you to allow it to Read / Write data. If you got here, it means your setup is okay.

100% Tested and working.

Just a note: This may or may not work for other units, I think downloading from OM Mod is unit-dependent. So try at your own risk. But for N6630 users, this is already proven.

Hi,

Make sure you follow the steps to the letter. You should change your OM server ONLY when you are about to download the file. About the url, change ONLY the DOwnload URL textbox. Don't change the referrer.

Also just would like to know where did you get your OM Mod app?Is it here in ipmart? I also had problems when I used the one found here. I can PM you where I get my OM Mod app since it is posted on another forum site.:D

So just want to share with you some workaround on how to make OM Mod FBT browsing with more speed.

2. Change the Server (the one under Additional checkbox) to 80.232.177.10
3. Change the Port to (under the Server textbox) to 80

Let me know your browsing speed after this tweak.:D For me it now works faster and I don't get the annoying connection error popups anymore.:D

I haven't tried that one as well. I will test and let you know the results. I have only tried this one for direct download sites. And as FrostBlood have said above, this also does not work for file server sites. i.e. RapidShare etc. And I also haven't tried that one as well. Hopefully will try to test as well.

have you noticed difference in the speed? If you are still unsatisfied with the speed you can use this INET trick to make your OM Mod browsing even faster.

Assumptions:
1.) Your myGlobe INET is setup correctly. Browse the web or contact Globe customer care for the correct setup.
2.) INET service of your SIM card is activated. You can test this by using it in your default phone browser and try to go to Globe homepage: [Only registered and activated users can see links] If you are getting "Subscribe to Packt Data first" error then Im sorry to say its not activated.

Steps:
1.) Go to Settings -> Network Connection -> Access Point.
2.) Select myGlobe INET to edit it.
3.) Go to Advanced Settings
4.) Input Proxy Server: 80.232.117.10
5.) Input Port: 80
6.) Just click Back to save your changes.

Then use this access point in your OM Mod and notice the difference in speed. Im using a non3G phone right now but ipmart site is loading in 5-10secs with pictures.:D Let me know your experience.

I got a problem with setting up on MyGlobe INET whenever I get the settings and install it on my phone. I got an error saying 'settings not installed: web browser'. I use the 'INET send to 2951' since I'm a prepaid user. My phone is SE k530i.

INET setting is much faster that GPRS or CONNECT. I think double or triple of that.

Best that I can advise you is go to your nearest Globe Business Center in your area and have them setup your INET service. Just a heads up though that they normally don't just activate INET service specially for prepaid users since it is so fast that your load will also be consumed so fast. I got mine activated when I was using XphoneII and there is noway to setup GPRS settings in it so they activated my INET service instead.

another solution is for you to use Globe Starter SIMs since they are INET activated already upon purchase. that is if you are okay in changing your number or have an extra phone to be used.

Thru WIFI? It is not possible on Yahoo because free emails from yahoo is not pop3 which is required by mobile built-in emails.

Thru WIFI? It is not possible on Yahoo because free emails from yahoo is not pop3 which is required by mobile built-in emails.

Of course you can connect to internet using wifi. No need for globe setting because you will not connecting thru GPRS.

You can connect to internet using wifi whatever network you are in or even without simcard at all.

But if you want the email will go directly & automatically on your messaging, I think its not possible if your yahoo email is only free.

Automatic retrieval of emails needs pop3 account settings which is not available on yahoo free email account. Use gmail. It has pop3 setting.

Your sim must be gprs /inet activated and you need opera mini mod 2.06 to browse internet free using globe. Check previous pages or search here and you will see the configuration as well as the application needed.

As long as it is globe and gprs activated. Try to long press 0. If it connects to myglobe, then you are set to use UBT (unlimited browsing technique). But if not, you need to have the settings from globe and activate it.

are you referring to the FBT using phone as a PC modem? So it does work. About the wml format, you should re-read my post since it is expected because you are using mobile phone proxy sites. For the download server, let me check on that.

Please try this because I can't find any detailed instructions yet.

1. Install Opera Mini Modded version 2.06. You can find it here in Ipmart.
2. Open the app. Go to Tools -> Settings -> Network.
3. "Uncheck" Shadow connect
4. The address to connect: [Only registered and activated users can see links]
5. "Check" Check timeout for connections
6. "Uncheck" Additional:
7. Server: 80.232.117.10
8. Port: 80
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
10. "Uncheck" Reset of a server at an error
11. Others not mentioned just use the defaults.

As far as i know only Globe POSTPAID subscribers can avail of push emails on their phone. So if you are one then I advise to call Globe 24hr customer care hotline 211. They can gladly give it to you. If your not then it is impossible. Before I thought it is only because of the INET service, but upon activation of my INET, I tried configuring my email but failed.

Yup already did. They could not trace the problem why i can't install the INET settings on my web browser. They logged my concern and will update me for the possible solution.

Yes you can but if you noticed in OM Mod 3.10, on the first time you use it, it will have "validation steps" to know if your phone can connect to its servers. Other users have said that the validation steps will not succeed if you use myglobe CONNECT access point. Only myglobe INET can be use to validate your connection. BUT it will deduct 20 PHP to your load. Aside from this, users also testified that OM Mod 2.l06 is far more better than OM Mod 3.10.;) So its your choice. For me I'm still happy with my 2.06.;) I'll be posting a modded OM 4.1 just for this UBT here after sometime, just have to ask permissions to the talented author from another forum site.:egdance:

Thanks for the info. Yeah you're right it need to validate the internet connection and deduct P10 from my load. But when i modify it my phone hangs and eventually restarted. So I'm back with 2.06! wehehehe... We'll wait for that modded OM 4.1! :egdance:

How did you do it? For me every time I open 3.10 it is doing this validation steps. If I cancel it, the app will just stay in the error window with only the Exit Option is available.

Maybe it can be done on 3.1 version. Im using 2.06.

Can you try using CONNECT first. I have the same problem like that. On the first install it will this installing thing. Try to use the CONNECT access point first. Let us know your result. I have heard that 6300 users can't use this app also.

As far as I know this OM Mod FBT is only for Globe USERS here in the philippines. As for the FBT using phone as modem, it is also available for Smart users but since this is "Globe Users" I didn't post it here.:ashamed:

you just have to try and try to connect using the Inet settings it will push through promise. I also suffered the same problem before. just try again. Just a note that the IP to be used is 203.177.91.131 port 80. Other proxy will not work for this OM 4.1

yeah actualy its hard to browse using COMMECT whats the right setings for this?

If you have Inet capable sim try using the proxy for myGlobe Inet I posted with the application. It will surprise you how fast it will go.;) Also try to change the font to the smallest. it will also help in making this OM 4.1 load faster.

If you dont have Inet capable sim, tough luck, you can check the "Mobile view" options in settings as well so that OM 4.1 will not load the page in PC version.:(

I overlook the proxy. I used 203.117.91.131 instead of 203.177.91.131.

This is the correct INET proxy to avoid confusions.

Use INET. Its connection is fast.

I think this is just sets of instructions on how to set permissions to Java apps on other phones if you might have authorization problems such as accessing the web / read/write of user data etc. :)

Try using the myglobe CONNECT / GPRS access point on the first run. Then after it successfully installed already, you can shift to the myglobe INET access point. Believe me you need the INET to use this because it will load the webpages in its full desktop glories.:D Just dont forget to edit your Proxy for your INET as well. You can read some previous post from me or ser Myk! on what proxy to use for this OM 4.1

Yeah if you read some of my post back I think this OM FBT will not working for P800, P900, and P910 yet. Only works with P990 and P1.;)

3. 195.189.142.68 port 80
4. 195.189.142.69 port 80

6. 195.189.142.77 port 8080
7. 195.189.142.78 port 8080

Just a note that ONLY the 203.177.91.131:80 works with BOTH 4.1 and 2.06.
All these other servers works solely for OM 2.06.:excited:

I tried also to export the files to the phone,I thought it was ok already but when I open the saved files,its not jpg files... I think its .omd files..

Two tricks I now to view Friendster desktop version in Opera Mini:
Trick 1.
1. Go to Friendster Mobile.
2. Go to Help. At the bottom part of the homepage.
3. Find Friendster Classic and you are done!;)

Trick 2.
1. Go to [Only registered and activated users can see links]
2. Enter [Only registered and activated users can see links] in the URL
3. Untick the first two checkbox and Tick the rest of the checkbox below.
4. Hit Browse and you are done!;)

The .omd file was generated because what you downloaded was the web page itself, not the file. I tried the download for this OM3.11 but it consumed my load.:( I was a victim of my own watchout.:hehe: But its okay as long as I know now. So for me I am still using my OM2.06 for downloading. I have posted the steps here.
