Here is the story.. After i upgrade several parts, my pc always autorestart when im playing games, or the PC has many activivity.My PC specs are;

Not yet upgraded = Upgraded Parts

PC Partner P4M266 S478 DDR266 ==upgraded to= Asus P4S800 S478 DDR400 Mboard
Inno3d Geforce4 Mx400 64mb 64bit ==upgrade to== ATi Radeon 9550se 128mb 64bit
PQI 256mb DDR333 one sided ==upgraded to== Dynet 512mb DDr400 one sided

Intel Celeron 2ghz
and using Windows XP Professional SP2

It always restarts my pc when i play games for example NFS most wanted. First it will run then after a min to 10min ago it will autorestart. And even if im not playing games, for example watching movies in the pc, or doing such activity..

what is the problem in my parts that i upgraded? so that i can pinpoint it now what is really messing with my system..

how many time you re-format your computer? re-format again to check.

i suggest re-format your computer again, install SP2, if problem still occur, dont use SP2.

sometimes this is cause by software, i ever face this problems as well, but after i re-format, everything become normal again. are you using legal OS? if problems still occur, came back here and we will discuss about your hardware combination. good luck.

neenee, dont reply twice, you will get Ban because of spamming, that is the rules.

ever install SP1 to try? if SP1 the same problem, then u have the check your RAM, but i predict after you use SP1, no more problems

Wow,formatting looks to be most poplular solution for every pc problem....

First of all check ASUS website to find out if there's a compatibility problem between your motherboard and the RAM modules...I have had such an experience in the past,where his ASUS K8NE mobo did not support dual sided modules...if yours is the same case,you'll have to get them changed...

Also please provide a little detail about your PSU...

i reckon its the motherboard not assemble complete or not compatible with ur processor, check the motherboard details.

P/s ur upgrade is done by urself or recommended by computer shop?

i asseble my pc all by myself, the fact is that i bought the motherboard with my friend with a low cos but it doesn't have any driver included..

yup thats probably the problem , get a compatatible driver, or could be lose in some place, my bro comp oso experience same problem, so he took it 2 a shop and the shop reassemble all of it, and no problem after that..

try doin' this dude to see what the real problem is,

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System Icon
then Go to Advanced
then Under the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings...
then Under System Failure un-check "Automatically restart"

this will check whether what really causing it to restart.. and ofcourse.. it will not autorestart anymore if you unchecked it~!

thanks nevermind! found out that my problem is because of "Ati2dvag.dll" i uncheck the autorestart and display the blue screen of death and indicating that the prob is "Ati2dvag.dll". and whenever i install windows xp SP2 it always autorestart but if any windows version without service pack it runs!..

whats the meaning of this??

Once i got the same Problem with that thig i just upgraded My drivers and got out of that

I prefer u should check your Display card Fan if it is attached with it
stoppting of fan cause the heat and thus can cause the restart of machine too

ati2dvag.dll is a display driver for ATI Radeon series. The old driver which comes with d CD rom is not compatible with Windows XP

no... no need to format.. i had the exact same problem with my amd athlon 1700+.. which is still being used by my bro... for this problem i did everytthin from formatting, to motherboard check up , to ram change to power supply change... but still the problem remained and the comp kept restarting while gaming... finally what i did was plugged the comp directly without any stablizer or ups... and found out that the problem was there in the stablizer... and now it works perfectly without restarting even while gaming... so i think the problem exists in ur power supply or ups or stabilizer... try it and let us know

ahaha, even though the ATi Radeon's taken over performanced with Geforce, Ati is not perfect as it is hehe..

my solution to this bro was downgraded to service pack 1 for now, and still waiting for real solution reagarding this ATi issue.. i think its ATi's driver problem.. see Eminem's Thread regarding his ATi's 9250 prob. :lol:

Yup, it is the exactly the conflict between ati and sp2. Ya you got 2 options, to downgrade to sp1 as what you do, or the following solution will help you to get rid of your problem (many peoples tried this and problem resolved):

Right click-mouse over My Computer
Properties
Hardware(Tab)
Device Manager(button)
Click [+] next to System devices
right-mouse on CPU to AGP Controller (or whatever your controller is called, mine was SiS AGP)
Update Driver(button)

Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
Next(button)
Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
Next(button)
Select PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
Next(button)
Finish(button)
Reboot.

Please let me know or pm me if this works for you..
Good luck (thanks to cobrakaun)
