err go through wireless network could help... or just connected both using usb cable... there is an ption in winXP to use usb for networking...

I have tried playing counter strike both laptop connected using wireless network (man, it's fun!! :) ) Ehehe..

@Benny88, there are many many ways of connecting two pc.

The most economic way is you just go to computer shop and ask for crossed-cable rj45, assuming you have network card in both your pc. After that just run the home networking wizard from windows accessories (make sure you specify same workgroup for both pc);

But i will recommend you buy a hub (maybe 5port), then two straight-cable rj45. Then connect both your pc to the hub, and run the home networking wizard again (of course the same workgroup also).

That's all for networking between your 2 pc. Hope it help.

pc ip 10.10.10.1 laptop ip 10.10.10.2 sub mask255.255.255.0 on both,u will find this in network control panel/connections/properties

candccom is correct, cross cable will help you to establish connection between your PC and Notebook for file sharing purpose (auto detect with XP)

U will not be able to connect to Internet (DSL), becuase you have used 2 network port. unless you are using dial-up, then you will be able to share dial-up connection between your PC and Notebook with your Modem.

the chart is for cross cable, go get one for yourself and u might need it in the future to establish P2P connection.

Additional information seems "coolstuff" already posted the picture, the straight cable will be both end with the same configuration, mean A-A or B-B.

First good thing is the crossed cable with 2 Lan Cards. Second Thought is to connect the PC or Laptops to a wireless Access point. The first one is easy to setup but the second one is much extendable when u add more PC
