RM-36 Phone Data Package APAC v.8.00 (MCU 5.04.07) Installation

NOTE !!! Use Phoenix Service Software 2005.44.7.123 (or newer) and flash update 006.005.003 (or newer)

Note! Close Phoenix before starting uninstallation or installation of Data Package.
If Install Shield Wizard does not automatically remove the previous version of
Data Package go to Start menu->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs, then uninstall
RM-36 Phone Data Package.

Requirements:

- Phoenix Service Software 2005.44.7.123 (or newer) and flash update 006.005.003 (or newer)
- Prommer (FPS-10) Or USB cable (DKU-2) for usb flashing

- MCU software release 5.04.07
- Variant packages for following operator variants:

* Singapore MobileOne
* Singapore CV
* Malaysia CV
* StarHub
* AIS Thailand
* Thailand DTAC
* Smart PH
* SingTel
* Globe PH
* Maxis Malaysia
* Celcom Malaysia
* Thailand CV

- RM_36.ini file, that includes
- options used in flashing
- list of settings that can be saved from customer's phone when
updating software
- <product code>.ini files, that define
- names of flash files
- variant packages (language packages and EPOC settings) that belong to each product
- default settings for each product
- SW setting files (Product profiles)
- User interface configuration file for Product Profile tool (rm1.ppu )
- Label printing files (600dpi only)
- RM-36.val includes product type specific module information for Faultlogger
- autotune_RM-36.ini allows user to align product's RF part automatically
- rm_36_tunings.ini that specifies some TX Power Level tuning targets for RM-36
- readme_APAC_8.0_5.050407.txt (this file)

i got emea version of 5.04.07 today on my 6680 but my nokia centre totally lacking on what improvements this new firmware brings... Has anyone the information that gives the improvements of this firmware either apac or emea ? Not complaining as upgrade was free (phone under 1yr old) but some info would be much appreciated ! Br . now i'm using this version, when use star code (*128#) to request info from DiGi (Telco), normally will receive info in 2 sec, if show "requesting" more than 5 sec the phone will restart!

I found this site to download Phoenix Software. Flash update is included in it. But it is Phoenix 2005.44.4.120. I hope it works too. Its a FTP server, so you can download it easily.

There is no user name or password on this FTP. Just open the link in Windows XP, not in Win 9X

I do open the link in XP...and it is asking for Username and password...and anonymously ...you cant login to that server...

Yes, that is right. The diference is the language files. And may be the localized versions contain some operator specific .ini files too. But I don't know what they do. My European phone work with the stock (englis and francosis only) version too...

Please help us finding the latest EURO version for 6680,
1) which one between v8.01 & v8.03 does exist? And which one is the recomended to install??
2) On this forum and around internet the only package founded are the APAC vesion and a .rar containing RM36_5.050407_B5.C0R and RM36_5.050407_B5.v30.. but are those EURO version and which language are included (if they contain PPM)

all ready try myself flashing my phone using the language pack 82, only get chinese and english only. which one is malay language pack? where is RM-36_dp_v_8.01_MCUSW5.050407_APAC and RM-36_dp_v_8.02_MCUSW5.050407_APAC? anybody could give a link?

Need other 6680 apac firmware. Containing malay language, cause i use a lot t9 in messaging. And i like the bold font rather the thin font.

Already flash my phone with 8.01 last night using australia cv black. No indonesia but got malay in it. Just what i need. And the font are bold. So i can change font what ever i want too.

Can you post the file 8.02 or link? Cause this firmware need me to manually or download the gprs and mms setting. The only setting is there are only in australia network.

Grateful if someone can post the minor updates (up to 8.05 now) for 6680 APAC firmware. I live in HK and would like to have the PPM that support traditional chinese. Those in 8.00 (Singapore/Malaysia) supports simplified chinese only.

it's far more better than Phoenix
coz Phoenix is risky & requires a lot more experience
