When you max your boost bar you'll trigger the ÜBER state. Tweak a grab while in the ÜBER state to achieve huge tricks and earn mega points. Get the edge on competition by taking shortcuts. And you'll need to too, as the second boss is a real pain, and might very well be impossible to defeat with only the most basic troops. Once you complete the first map, your Lab will open. Visit the Lab from the main kingdom menu and you will have an option to RankUp your units. In order to rank up a uit, it needs to have enough levels, your kingdom needs to have enough VP, and you need to have the correct emblem. Units begin at level 0, and will earn a level every time they participate in a battle (even if they are knocked out). When you upgrade a unit, it return to level 0, so you'll need to fight with them again in order to rank them up again. VP are earned each time you defeat a boss battle or another player. You usually earn 10 VP for each battle, and you'll lose VP for losing battles while online. You don't lose VP for upgrading a unit - you only need to have a certain level in order to perform the rankup. Emblems are special items that are used only to rank up units. You create emblems in a lab, or will very rarely get them as rewards from townsfolk for bringing the items they want. Emblems are consumed when you use them to rank up a unit. The only use for a priest is its healing special. So if you want a priest on your party then equip it with good armor with auto Hit Points restore so he won't waste the special on himself while another unit is getting owned. Also put the Priest in the back so it won't be in danger of getting owned. I also suggest using the defensive strategy so the other units will protect the priest. By using this strategy your party has a higher chance of winning the battle, because if the priest is healing them and they won't get owned. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Never Get Owned Playing Offline by imspaghettihead Whenever a character gets owned in a battle you lose them and whatever they have, to prevent this just end the game while still in battle and shut the game off, or use the remove memory card feature on the N-Gage QD. This resets the game to before your last battle. It also proves useful to do this when your health is running low in a castle, you also retain what floor you were on so it's better than selecting not to go to the next floor. Start Fast by na1r Get a noble. Using a bone emblem, turn it into a Priest. In the beginning, it is good to have one of these units in each party, because they heal your units to the max very often. This way, I always ended my matches with a full HP, so I don't have to go to the medical section. Also, get a good armor for the priest, because its worth having him around when most of your units are "owned." Rank Nine Units by phalnax I took fourth place in the Pocket Kingdom Tournament, so trust me on this one. Rank 9 units do not always mean victory. For example, two behemoths attacking can easily be countered by two rock walls and two lich lords (with para armor), so "brains before brawn" :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Top Ten Tips from Pirate Khlan by _ath Do not keep, what you can buy. Pay more attention to offline game, until you Own Ulgress. Use 2 defense parties (especially online), 2-3 attack parties, 2 search parties (to save time), 1 for chat (may use your search party). Give your best units/EQ to Defense Party. Make friends on board. Chat before attack, so that people don't run at your approaching. Always upgrade to new ore! When you feel, your army is weak, take a break. Write down all units you have and what RankUps you need. Then check what good new (and the best available) units you can create. Do the same with your equipment. Use "High Rank" strategy on the last floor of Boss Castles. Don't sell old armor. Give them to your Search Party or exhibit on auction at low prices, help n00bs! Turn off screen saver, or set it to 30 minutes. Never charge N-Gage while playing PK. Do not touch savefile by FExplorer or card reader. RankUps and Emblems by algernon You don't need to search for emblem creating instructions from internet or from printed out papers, if you send them as a text-file to your N-Gage vie e-mail / Bluetooth. This way, you have all the instructions with you, and you can view them while playing, when you need those instructions. You can only get multiple 'Ooze' type units. Get the item "Dividing hearts" by searching on "Ruins Road." Attach it to armor. When your Ooze type unit gets attacked, there's a chance he will multiply into another of the same. Imagine four Blood Oozes with Orichalcon multiplying armor... Making certain units stay where they are: You can make ranged, attacking units stay where they are (in the back rank) by simply setting them to attack either high/low rank or high/low HP units. Get rare items early in the game. Spend some time scouting those towns you see around the place, and if the guy offers you an item go to pk.warcry.com and compare it with the item he wants to see if its worth trading. Doing this lots early in the game can get you lots of good emblems and make the game a lot easier! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Faster Menu Navigation by i0d3 When you have lots of items and units in Pocket Kingdom, it can take a while to scroll through them all. I'm not sure whether this is in the manual or not, but you can use LEFT and RIGHT to effectively page up and down through menus.
