You can create primary partitions, extended partitions, and logical drives only on basic disks. You should create basic volumes instead of dynamic volumes if this computer also runs MS-DOS, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows NT 4.0, or Windows XP Home Edition.
On a master boot record (MBR) disk, you can create up to four primary partitions, or three primary partitions and one extended partition.
On a GUID partition table (GPT) disk, you can create up to 128 primary partitions.

Gr8 sofie, ucan create, delete, modify partition... support FAT16, FAT32, NTFS... everything u need 4 partitioning, formating, resizing ur HDD...

Yes, if dont want to format your harddisk then try to look for Partition Magic and it easy to use. Use Bittorrent to searxh for the soft and u will easily find it.

Are u using Fat32 file system or NTFS?

* if you need to create partition with a clean install *

if fat32, u could use the DOS mode, enter a bootable disk and type fdisk ex: "C:\fdisk"
this process will enables you to create extended/logical/primary partition drives.

if NTFS, u could also use the WinXP bootable disk which will automatically ask you if you wanted to create another partitions to ur HD.

* if you have a system but you only wanted to add some partition in ur HD *

just use partition magic v.8. you can create another partition if you still have available disk space in ur hd.

Ya, if u want to add an additional partition on top of your existing working windows hardisk, then you partition magic is the best. I think your question answered, this thread closed.
