I am using Dopod 818pro now, and intented to use it as a wireless modem for my notebook. After i has been searching around my service provider and the dopod service center, i still can't get the thing connected. At last i found the setting as below, hope it provides some guideline for those who also facing this problem.
Assuming u connect using usb data cable:
1. Disable the active sync connection using usb in your notebook;
2. On your PDA phone, tap Start -> Settings -> Connections -> Beam -> and disable "Receive all incoming beams;
3. Then tap Start -> Programs -> Wireless Modem / Modem Link;
4. At "Connection Type" selected "USB" and tap the "Activate" button;
5. Now connect your PDA phone with your PC by using the USB cradle or a USB sync cable;
6. Your PC will found a new hardware, your modem should be recognized now (put your pda phone cd driver into your cdrom);
7. Now is a time to create a new connection, click ->start ->connect to -> show all connection ->create new connection -> choose connect to internet ->setup my connection manually ->connect using dial-up modem -> type your isp name ->phone no *99# ->no need username and password.
8. Click on the properties to make sure the modem you choose is the wireless modem.
9. Congratulation! You have done.
