Yes first karaoke player that read normal PC kar files instead of many crappy (and not updated) prg using proprietary player that read own format and incompatible files with pc...

Here's a background that i made, a kinda MagicSing theme, which is a popular Magic Mic i found on the net.

Get it here:

and have MagicMic in your phone :p

Just replace the default Karaoke.mbm found in the installation folder with this one. (e.g. e:/system/apps/karaoke)

This is one of the bug of kar player sometimes doesn't found the lyrics..if you report to the author he will fix the bugs...

thanks smallfox! had fun with the songs i downloaded from the karaoke site you shared. i downloaded around 800+ songs! :) thanks! anyone know how to convert *.mk1 files to *.kar? to smallfox for the site and lukeskyd the amazing player (however buggy it is at the moment), your rep go up! i'm one happy girl. :) cheers!!

and by the way, it works fine on N70 and N90. have fun singing!

here are 367 .kar files to start off your collection. just unpack and copy to e:/My Songs on your mmc.

NOTE: if you wish to put more than a hundred karaoke files on your mmc, here's what i did on my sister's N70. DO NOT put all your files in one folder (e:/My Songs) as it will: 1. crash the app (karaoke player) or 2. take forever to load. make separate folders on your mmc like e:/My Songs 01, e:/My Songs 02 and distribute your files among them. make sure to put not more than a hundred files in one folder. make as many folders as you need!

OR: if you have profiexplorer like i do, i put all my files in one folder and used profiexplorer to "open" my karaoke collection. it's easy as pie! :) DO NOT use fexplorer to open if you put all your files in one folder as it will freeze fexplorer.

lastly, a few of the songs might say "lyric not found". i think it's either a bug of the app coz it's still in beta version or it's the *.kar file that has the prob. either case, just smile and enjoy the rest of the collection!

edit: there's no such prob now in newer versions of karaoke gum (v1 or v1.2) but fexplorer prob still remains so don't even try to open your karaoke files' folder with fexplorer. :)

If you're like me, who doesn't like to wait, here's a little trick.

-Change date of Phone to the year 2020 or above
-Install Karaoke GUM 1.0
-run Karaoke GUM then exit
-Change back date to present time

Now your Karaoke GUM will be full until expiration on the year 2020 :p

The old Mylobe karaoke player is limited ( as we are in our country there's no way to download songs from here ), with there app I can now put more songs to my phone. BTW, do you any other site where we can download OPM songs?

izechariah, i keep looking for opm karaoke files but can't find one. i sure would love some mymp!! i've been looking in ares, in limewire, in yahoo, google but until now, zilch. don't worry. as soon as i find some opms i'll upload them here. i have around 900+ *.kar files. i'm busy making a graduation video for my class right now but after i'm done i'll upload more songs. yeah, i trashed myglobe karaoke. it's gotten to be obsolete since i can't add new songs to it, unlike this app. it's wonderful!!! thanks dcperez for the reg trick and of course, to lukesyd for discovering this gem. with v1.0, the player can support loads of *.kar files in My Songs folder. no need to sort them out in different folders as was the case in beta. yey!! i love this app!

New version 1.01 is coming and support midi format 0 and italian language...
The midi format 0 takes more time to open but worth the waiting for the compatibility for older midi files..

hi barabba from italy! :) thanks for adding to my rep. cheers!!! about downloading all the kar files in the site and posting it here, it might be difficult for me coz as you can see, i had to break down the files into alphabetically zipped archives in order to upload them. my connection really sucks so i'm sorry i can't do that favor for you. it might take a whole day to upload a file that big. :( i'll upload the files i do have though. if that helps. thanks again and enjoy singing!

Consider to compress in rar format, on midi files it take very less space than zip! I think all the midi's of that site will not overflow 10MB on best compressed-solid rar archive ;)

I do have some thoughts bothering me though! Do you think those Karaoke songs from the DVD Videoke player can be extracted, if then, can it be converted to .kar files? Hopefully there's a way to got those songs, so we can post OPM Songs here in iphone. Anyway, I'll will try to bring that DVD disc ( Videoke ) to office tomorrow and let me see if we can find ways to get those songs!

Maybe we can ask the the help of some Multimedia expert members of these forum!

sorry for the very late reply. i just came back to check this thread and found your question. maybe you can go to the multimedia forum and ask the question. but honestly, i think it can't be done that way. except if you make the songs into .avi or .3gp formats. to make them into .kar files, i think you have to download a .kar maker and do it manually. but maybe i'm wrong. can people enighten us? thanks!! cheers!!!

@Gandang Jeanius, I found one karaoke player for PC which is freeware and I think it is also capable of creating your own Kar songs.

PowerKaraoke is a CDG Karaoke authoring tool. It allows to create a CD+G karaoke song from scratch or can import KAR (MIDI Karaoke) files.

try to download that from rapidshare. i can't download it becoz the confirmation code won't come out! :S anyways, i am hoping it could be used to create .kar files. karafun is easy to use. but it can't save to .kar files. you only tap the space bar to sync the words to the music. if you can find karafun studio then it would be great. :) for now, try to download that powerkaraoke and upload it somewhere else (NOT megaupload) and hopefully, that thing can help us make .kar files. thanks sin_ras! cheers!!! :):):)

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN KARAOKE FILES

Hi to all would be karaoke Editors,

Let me start by saying I don't play any instruments and have no musical training at all( if you heard me sing you would see what I mean).

For editing songs( Adding the lyrics) you need a program I use Karakan it's freeware and very easy to use.

It's the only one I use, the first time I downloaded it I threw it out without trying it because I did'nt belive it was that easy and thought I had misunderstood it
It was only my grandaughters kept asking for a song that I could'nt find, that made me download it again and try it.

Just find your midi (thats the hard part) it has to have a melody track (one play's the voice notes) then get the lyrics. When you load the midi in to Karakan it will ask you which track is the melody then copy and paste the lyrics in and tell them when to highlight by adding a "-" (the key between 0 and =) to the words e.g. "always and ever" are three words but in music they are five notes you put in the "-" so it reads "al-ways and e-ver" then when it plays it highlights at the right time its dead easy try it, it wont cost you any money at all

Karakan only uses format 1 midis If your midi is format 0 then you need to change it.
A free program to do this is MIDI File Converter. you also need to download a .dll file this is on the page as well.

I have put a lot of time and effort in to making these files so I hope all members will have a go at these and get as much fun out of doing songs as I do and maybe take up editing.

I have put together 5 zip files each one has 4 files in it.
1 Midi file, 1Kar file and 2 Text files.
The Midi file is to do the song with.
The first Text file is the lyrics
The second will talk you part of the way through how to make the song.
You have to finish off yourself.
The .Kar file to check your work with.

I have tried to do songs that I think everyone will know if you can get the MP3 to them it will help you.

By the time you have done all 5 songs I think you will have come across all the problems that you will get with Karakan.

1st zip file is just a straight forward song to show you how Karakan works I hope all your songs are like this ( I don't think they will be some how).

2 nd zip file This song will show you how to put two words in when you only have one note for them.

3 rd zip file This song will show you how to change tracks when you have two melody tracks to work with.

4 th zip file This song will show you how the midi code works when you have words but no notes to work to.

5 th zip file This song will show another way of using the midi code to help you get the lyrics to play right.

It was just couple of days i did find, that is why i dont want to share it right away. I have worked hard looking for it and you should do too. dcperez, how did you make a theme for karapuzz? i downloaded mbmwizard and changed some images in an mbm (i wanted to put my sister's photo resized to 176x146) but i got the msg "file corrupted" in karaoke gum when i tried to load the theme. maybe there's a special process to follow? can you enlighten me please? thanks.

Here's the theme creator that i made, its a bit crude but it does the job.

Just unzip anywhere, just make sure that they're all in the same folder. The bmp files (0.bmp - 10.bmp) serves as a template just open them up in MSPaint and your ready to go, just make sure you PASTE the updated image. After that just save it.

After your done updating the images, just click MBM.bat and it will create Karaoke.mbm.

Enjoy :D

BTW: MBM format is not your standard picture format, its more like an Animated GIF format, its an archive of pictures not just one. In Karapazzz case, it contains 11 individual pictures making up the single screen that you see.

might be difficult to find those. filipinos like me find it hard to search for filipino .kar files too that's why there's the tutorial. :) dcperez made lots of filipino karaokes. maybe you can do the same for your italian songs? it's a little more easier looking for the midi file of songs. try to yahoo or google it. when you find them, use the tutorial here to make your own .kar files. it takes some patience but who knows? you might enjoy it. :) and maybe then you can add your files to this thread. hope you find what you're looking for. cheers!!! :):):)

hi izechariah! did you go back home for a vacation? i'm going home this dec for my x'mas break and i'm so excited about it. no place like home! :) i've promised dcperez a long time ago to reupload all his opm karaoke files (one huge collection! :)) but never got around to doing it. seeing there's still some interest in opm karaoke files, i've finally reuploaded it. so credit goes to him for his hard work. :) do tell your friends about this thread.

btw people, you can install vividlyrics to your windows media player and play all these kar files on your pc as well. now you don't have to go to karaoke bars! :) just turn on your pc or your mobile phone and viola!!!

oops my mistake, i thought it was the Kar files that you uploaded hihihi. Anyways the files that you uploaded was just the MIDI files and LYRICS, they need to be converted to KAR before you could play them in Karapuzz.

Anyways, here's the KAR files i just did earlier (doing it alphabetically):

Hi All,

Just tested creating the kar files using the tutorial for Chinese Songs and found that it is not possible because the program Karakzan does not recognise chinese characters.

So looks like kar files for chinese songs may not be available unless there is a new version of the karazan which recognise Chinese fonts.
