This is a very simple thingie which would cool any possible card with minimum cost.

Okay, what you need is one excess fan and one extension port's cover plate which are lying in every corner. :supz:

Grab the cover plate with a clamp or something and straighten the bent head.
After this, attach the other head of the plate e.g. into a bench vice and twist it 90 degrees for example anti-clockwise.
Thusly the plate is ready to be glued on the side of the fan.

Just pick a card you want to cool, loose its screw which holds it tight and just cram the Cardfan in the same screw and screw it tightly again.

Hope you find this usefull also money saving :)

mods if this is the wrong section plz move it :iphonepost:

I read an article that not more fan improves airflow and i sometimes find card fan really hot pockets in the case

Yeah its imperative for cabinet to have good airflow..or else a small fan by itself wouldn't be much help..

Hmm ... using a better fan .. i mean a fan with higher CFM will definitely do a good job on passive cooled cards ....

Isn't easier to just screw your fan directly to cards radiator?

Isn't easier to just screw your fan directly to cards radiator?

you mean screw it to the heatsink ?! [Only registered and activated users can see links]
you can do that but it will damage your heatsink and might void your warrenty also it will block a lower pci slot and this way you can add
a fan as big as you like and cool more than one card using one fan :)

Yes, I meant a heatsink. I didn't actually encounter any problems about screwing a fan to it. Heatsink is still in one pice, and holds screws quite well. You just need to much the right ones- not too big, not too small. And I was thinking about warranty. Actually- nothing is changed in cards structure, so warranty is still active. And- I have enought of free pci slots to have one unusable, but anyway I think that there's still a place for some cards.

I might make a mod for this cooler where the fan blows air out of the PCI card slot, nad out of the system, instead of just blowing it around in the system
