hello,
is there a way to 'arrange the files by date' in xp similar to win98? coz each time i arrange the files in xp i have to scroll down to the bottom just to open/view the file. Unlike in win98 when you 'arrange file by date' it shows the most recent files immediately.

of course is there, you just go to view option and select details and in the right panel, right click your mouse and choose arrange icon - by modified. That's it. Hope this help...

yeah its the same thing, but the problem is how the win98 and xp arrange the files by date/modified. i like the way win98 arrange coz it shows the most recent files immediately unlike in xp you need to scroll to the bottom just to view/open the recent file (imagine this having to scroll down with hundreds/thousands of files sometimes it get stuck when it encounters large *.exe files)
