what is tweak?? tweak means to fine tune or adjust
Replace the defualt boot screen
Notes: This is a very dangerous tweak. Custom boot screen are available all over the internet, so you must watch out for ones with viruses in them. Only download bootscreens from reliable sources such as
h**p://[Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links]). Also, there are programs that do this for you, so you don't have to take the risk! Think before you do this.

How to do it:
Get a boot screen that you would like to use. Make sure that it is called NTOSKRNL.exe.
Place your new boot screen in your root directory (most likely C:/).
Restart your computer and go into safe mode (Press F8 while your computer is booting up. Do this before the boot screen. If you are unsure when to press F8, just tap it every two or three seconds when your computer starts booting up).
Double check that you are in safe mode. If not, please restart and go to safe mode.
Make sure that the command prompt is open. (If it's not, navigate to Start > Run and click on Run. Type in "cmd" in run and press enter).
Navigate to your base directory (Type in "cd.." and press enter and repeat that process until the blinking line is preceded by C:/).
Navigate to your Windows directory by typing "cd windows" and pressing enter.
Type in "delete ntoskrnl.exe" and press enter".
Type in "cd.." and press enter to get back to your base directory (C:/).
Type in "move c:/ntoskrnl.exe c:/windows/ntoskrnl.exe".
Restart your computer normally.Your new boot screen should show up. If not, then there was an error along the way. If you have any questions, please ask them in the forums. Change the title of Internet Explorer

Name the new String "Window Title".
Double click the new String.
For the value, enter what you want the title to be and then press enter.
Close regedit.

Switch to Windows 98 (classic) theme

Click on"Change Preferences" .
Click on "Without an Animated Screen Character".
Enable start menu scrolling
Notes: This tweak makes it so that, if you have a lot of programs on your start menu, instead of making two columns, you will have one where you have to scroll down to see the rest of the programs.

Right-click a blank space in the right-hand pane and go to New > DWORD.
Name the new DWORD(or edit the existing one) "DefaultColor".
Double click the new DWORD.
Note: The way that the value for the key works is that it uses a combination of letters and number to determine the color. It uses a two letter/number combination. The first number/letter determines the background color, and the second one determines the foreground/text color. A combination might look like F3 or A5. Please see the list below to see what all of the colors are.

Choose between Windows 98 or Windows XP log-in screen
Notes: If you have chosen a classic Windows theme, this will top it off. This changes the login screen to the Windows 98-style login screen.

How to do it:
Open Internet Explorer (I'm assuming that it's already open...)
Right-click a button on the menu-bar near the top (such as "Stop" or "Refresh").
Click "Customize..." on the right-click menu.
Under the "Current Toolbar Buttons" field, select the ones that you don't want and click "<- Remove".
You can also add icons the same way.
Replace Outlook Express with Hotmail on start menu
Notes: Nice tweak if you use Hotmail. Only works with XP start menu, not classic start menu.

Click the "Start Menu" tab.
If you have the regular Start menu enabled, click "customize".
Under the "Show on start menu" box, find the drop-down menu titled "E-Mail".
Use the drop-down box across from "E-Mail" to select "Hotmail".
Click OK.

How to do it:
Open Internet Explorer (I'm assuming it's already open...)
Navigate to Tools > Internet Options... (Click on Internet Options...)
Select the "Advanced" tab.
Near the bottom of the "Browsing" catagory, you will see a checkbox with "Show Go button in Address bar".
Uncheck it.
Click OK.
Add "Recent Documents" to the Start Menu

Navigate to Start > Control Panel (Click on Control Panel).
Click "Appearance and Themes".
Click "Taskbar and Start Menu".
Click the "Start Menu" tab.
Making sure that Start Menu, not Classic Start Menu, is selected, click "Customize".
Click the "Advanced" tab.
In the "Recent Documents" box, check the checkbox.
Click OK.
Click OK.Display a Network Icon in the System Tray
To display a network icon in the system tray Choose Start-->My Computer-->My Network Places-->View Network Connections. Right click on your Local Area Network Connection and choose Properties. Choose the Show Icon in Notification Area when Connected checkbox.
