Cheers
PS : I install for my N91 and my friend N91 -- No problem :D
tekkieboy1 28th June 2006, 21:24 installed & registered on my N80...
i noticed a few things though...
first:
after installation, when i try to open my .doc files via the pre-installed QuickOffice (or via File Manager) i get the message:
Unknown Error
0x410aa400cc000e
looks like a conflict between QuickOffice & OfficeSuite :???:
good thing is that i can still open my .doc files via OfficeSuite... still, the fact that what used to be opened via QuickOffice before installation of OfficeSuite can no longer be is such a bummer :axe:
second:
when i try to open my own .xls file via OfficeSuite, for some reason it says that the file is corrupted... :???:
but, when i open the same file via QuickOffice (or via file Manager), it can be opened successfully...
kinda the opposite scenario of the case with the .doc files above :axe:
btw, the "My Budget.xls" that came with the OfficeSuite zip file can be opened in all ways (via QuickOffice, OfficeSuite, File Manager)...
whew, real confusing... :???:
still, it's a good apps to have... again, looking at the bright side, at least i can edit my files on-the-go even without my laptop... :rock:
but, anyone who has encountered and can offer solutions to the issues i raised will be most welcome...
and yeah, thanks to minhtv74 for posting the code...
Keir 29th June 2006, 19:59 i got the same problem!!
i guess maybe with this officesuite install, it's better we uninstalled the quickoffice..
-edit-
Okie, just simply restart ur phone and u'll won't hit the error again, =) it works!! :supz:
llleon 30th June 2006, 14:02 After install it on E61, you may not able to open a doc document from file explorer. Usually it will go to default office on E61, but now it will become error, I think its due to officesuite installation.
Keir 30th June 2006, 21:04 i tried editing word files using the officesuite just now, after editing, the original quickoffice won't be able to view the same file anymore... take note..
docmac 30th June 2006, 21:17 good 4 u, m8 !!!
sadly for me, even after restart, got same problems :cry:
me too. now quickoffice refuses open doc files. i kinda prefer quickoffice for browsing since officesuite is just too slow. well, we can't have everything.
(unless someone posts the full version of quickoffice)
But, quickoffice for 3rd. ed? I don't understand, this app. isnt released yet, is officesuite that comes pre-installed in some phones, and here is posted officesuite from moby system that I think have more capabilitys that the pre-inst.
minhtv74 2nd July 2006, 19:57 The QuickOffice pre-installed in Nokia s603rd phone dont let you edit the files, you only can view them. The Office Suite can view and edit them, so why keep the ugly pre-installed ???? :D
tekkieboy1 2nd July 2006, 20:40 The QuickOffice pre-installed in Nokia s603rd phone dont let you edit the files, you only can view them. The Office Suite can view and edit them, so why keep the ugly pre-installed ???? :D
some of my existing files cannot be opened by Office Suite but can be opened by Quick Office...
while some CAN be opened by Office Suite and NOT by Quick Office...
so for now, i'll keep Quick Office so that I can at least view those that cannot be opened by Office Suite (and w/c i may not need to edit anyway)...
oh well... to each his own preferences...
but hey, still many thanks to minhtv74 :supz:
tekkieboy1 3rd July 2006, 17:53 download and installed version 2.20 from official site... overwritten the version 2.11 downloaded from i-phone and it did not ask for key...
although it hasn't solved the issues i raised previously, i've decided to upgrade to 2.20 anyway...
for those who can't find the version 2.20, here's how:
1] firstly, DONT click on the OfficeSuite S60 link under the TOP Symbian OS in the official homepage (left panel of your screens); this brings you to the 2.10 version;
2] instead, under the Read, TRY & BUY box, choose Symbian OS under 1. Select Platform; then, click on the GO button;
3] now, you are on the Symbian OS Software Page; click on "S60 3rd Edition" link;
4] now, you should see MobiSystems OfficeSuite (S60 3rd Edition); click on the picture or title itself and, voila !!! you'll see version 2.20;
5] now, scroll down to the download area or click on the Download Quicklink on the left of your screen;
6] when on download page, no need for "Select from List"; juz key in a valid email address where required (1@yahoo.com worked) and click on the download button;
go ahead, download, install, and enjoy :supz:
:ilove:
So the full version already i change the title removed the first file.br
gromeo 4th July 2006, 22:19 had many errors on my phone and, having in mind that on E61 you can edit your documents (AND IT LOOKS BETTER) - I removed this prog... Excel looks much much better with the preinstalled app, and everything else - too.
outkasted 27th July 2006, 20:29 The Program works on all OS 9.1 phones the likes of E61; N80; N91 and E60...
so far have installed in external memory and HDD in Case of N91-1 and so far have had no problem with either installations
though one thing that has been buggy is that the files in the inbox get a tug-o-war between these various Office Doc Viewers and in the end you cant open the files but if we save the files with office suite to a different directory we can access the files...!!!
also guys just cleaned the thread and hope i also solved most of the common queries (And Yes the Code Works !)
Kindly keep the forum clean and enjoyable!@!

jillleong 22nd August 2006, 15:37 Hi
I am a novice. Could somebody enlighten me. Is the officesuite 3rd version latest/better or the version 2.20 latest/better.
Has anyone loaded the above in the N73?

Hi, works fine on my N73. Follow the instructions above. Just dont try to open the same files with quickoffice and you will avoid the conflict described above. Cheers.
albertll 23rd August 2006, 22:37 Cool it work on my N71,
Thanks!
powwow 24th August 2006, 06:50 The serial works with E61. Thanks.
antotrav 24th August 2006, 14:05 I installed version 2.11 on my E61, used the key and registered, then installed 2.20 overwriting 2.11.
Everything works fine, and had no problem of conflicts with quickoffice yet.
Ciao!
fluidawy 25th August 2006, 15:58 Nice Pal, good upload thnx
hsy 27th August 2006, 05:09 I use N80.
After DOC files being opened by Officesuite, Quickoffice will not be able to view it anymore.
But Excel files are OK. Even new Excel files created by Officesuite can be viewed by the bundled Quickoffice.
akaoko 7th September 2006, 06:32 Work good on N73
Thanks
tjbone 7th September 2006, 12:05 it works for u akaoko?
i got a n73 as well but still has errors :cry:
any n73 users out there also that has it fully working without any conflicts with quickoffice?

Same problems: have N73; quickoffice (even from viewer point of view) has problems: error on opening some xls files, refusing to open bigger files (word or excel).
Installed OfficeSuite 2.11 -> open all files ok, much slower but ok. Unfortunately, conflicting with quickoffice for word files.
Installed OfficeSuite 2.20 (upgrading) ok. Same behaviour.
Questions:
1. Is there any known way to "register" application used for file types (doc, xls, etc)?
2. Where does QuickOffice look for documents? In what folders?!
On N73 there is no way to uninstall quickoffice (is built-in).
magneto04 7th September 2006, 20:50 The bottom line is - if you open a file with Office Suite, DONT open it with Quickoffice and vice versa! And since Quickoffice does not have editing capabilities for 3rd Edition (except for the build in version in the Eseries), I see no problem with not using quickoffice at all. Also, OfficeSuite opens complex files better than Quickoffice.
gruploader 11th September 2006, 01:39 where i can find OfficeSuite 2.20 (upgrading) ?????
to solve the problems plz

titian 19th September 2006, 18:51 By accident, I hard-reset my N80 with the new format MiniSD card, and then my N80 has no QuickOffice, no AntiVirus, No PDF reader... but I'm happy what I have.

in this case, you should start backing up your stuff in your phone (e.g. contacts, calendar entries etc). this is 'cos you may also need to do a reset on your phone memory - it seems that there could be some system files which are still embedded in your internal memory.
this could be the reason for indicating that you already have officesuite installed when you actually don't, and preventing you from fully installing officesuite.
soft reset - *#7370#
hard reset - power button, *, 3 and "Send" button (4 buttons in total) depressed all the way while switching on phone
