Hi.

First of all, I don't know if this is the right section for my topic. So if this isn't the right one, I am requesting the moderators to kindly move this thread to the correct section.

Anyways, I would like to ask anyone here who knows how to remove the DRM protection for WMV and WMA files. I have some WMV files here. Although all of them have licenses, I want to make a backup copy where the license is completely removed.

The reason is I can't seem to convert them to another format. I like to burn those WMV video files to VCD format (mpeg) but these license prohibits me from converting them.

All help will be greatly appreciated. And a corresponding repute points awaits those who will promptly reply.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm... I recall having tried a command line utility long ago...my memory tells me it was called FreeMe (actually, its my sotware cataloging tool which told me ;)) And it wasn't very successfull for that matter, but you might give it a try. And I think there is another tool called Automate UN-DRM which, through a complicated process, can help you remove the DRM protection from media on a computer IF you have the license to play those files on that computer.
