Dear Mods,

I'm having a problems to open the downloaded torrent files in my PC.
The download percentage still shows as 0% eventhough i've waited for almost 30 minutes !!

I've checked the tracker system and it shows as 'hostname not found'

FYI, i'm using Windows 2000 and using LAN connection.

Any advise how to settle above prob ?

What client are you using by the way?

I was 1st using the Bitcomet v0.68. And now i'm using Utorrent.
Same prob happens for both client.

let me guess, you're trying to download from your work place.
fyi, most companies prohibit their staff from using p2p application such as kazaa,imesh,irc,torrent. coz this application will use/choke your company bandwidth.

Hmm....i guess you're correct. I've realised this earlier but maybe they could be other alternatives for me to download files from this forum - other than torrent system.

I can continue using winrar but the file size is limited...

anybody can teach me how to create torrent and upload to forum?
first time i create i have see it working (file upload to forum) but after that nothing..like cannot seeding.
after i try create new one not working..
i'm use Utorrent,pls help
because i just post to up/download section,i worry it not working..

U knwo how to create torrent ?

After u create.. ! upload to forum ! then deleted created torrent from PC.. then re-download torrent from where uploaded and open using bitcomet and then choose seeding and choose file where saved on PC.. ! then it will go into seeding mode...

If u dont see it uploadin not 2 worry .. cos it only seeds or uploads whn some1 downloads.. till then keep torrent open n PC on... !

I'm too surfing in my workplace and I do encounter same prob in downloading torrent files using utorrent and bitcomet. I agree to you guys that our admin might prohibit us from using p2p application. So kindly guide me on how can I continue downloading files in another way. Thanks in advance.

I tried all possibilitys and every hint i found in the forum..no way. the file is just not uploading.

Am trying to make a 200 MB torrent. After creating the torrent file it uploads "something" to the server, i guess this is the *.torrent file. But how can i download it again ? I guess i have to tell my bittorent client that this file is somewhere on iphone forum, but where is the pass to this torrent ?

Really hope u can help me, i need to upload some Firmware and People start crying because i cant do it :)

edit: could it be possible that i have to upload the *.torrent file via attachement in a post ? arghhh.. this is the solution ! and its nowhere written in the FAQ ! please update the FAQ

come on ..didnt u saw all other torrents as attachment tats d most basic..anyways u find ur solution to quick...torrents hav to be uploaded and downloaded again for seeding :)

The first time torrent system was introduce here at i-phone, I was one of the first members who posted torrent files. But sadly, I encountered a problem regarding the tracker status... A SOCKET OPERATION WAS ATTEMPTED TO AN UNREACHABLE HOST.

I just figure out that the problem happens when my PEER GUARDIAN 2 was installed and running in the background. When I disable Peer Guardian 2, all torrents that I seed goes back to normal or they are WORKING. But when I try to run Peer Guardian 2 again, they all go back to the same tracker status of SOCKET OPERATION...

I don't seem to encounter this kind of problem with other torrent files I download and seed from other trackers. I only have this kind of problem with i-phone.

Anyone who knows some solution to this problem? I don't want to disable PEER GUARDIAN 2 for security reasons. But I still want to share those files I seed.

This happen bcoz your PG2 block iphone's ip. You need to allow them. If u using smartwhois you will know what is iphone ip.
