This pictorial tutorial will guide u in step wise manner along pics to give a peek into cracking basics for pc applications..

i hav not managed to crack symbian applications yet so no questions regarding that..

so lets get some limited knowledge required to understand cracking ...

1.cracking can be done by many ways like getting serials,keygens and patches or registries...mine is patching method..
2.some info about processor language related to patching..
'j' stands for jump and 'je' for jump if equal to and 'nop' is no operation
3.main aim is to convert je to nop or jne(jump if not equal)
4.this is sufficient here..rest info along with pics..

software cracked
"offline chm" as this was my first crack :)

softwares required as of now:
1.w32dasm
2.hiew hex editor

all 3 posted in nxt post ..

w32dasm and hiew rar are passworded by me to avoid abuse ..

##step 1##

install offline chm and go to C:\Program Files\Offline CHM and open offline chm.exe...go to help>>register>> press ok and note the bad dialog u get!!

##step 2##

open w32dasm and open in it>> chm.exe from program file\offline chm folder..
open string ref option and scroll down in new window to reach register option and double click!! u will jump straight to this line ..close string window..

strings are comments used in softwares

ok now we are in main window ..scroll up and down a bit to look at few comments..sounds familiar..anytime u get lost go again to strings and jump here again..

##step4##important

u can see register option here..juz above is je 'jump command'..try executing this command by going to jump command in menu..where u lend urself???
ur right >> the bad dialog u got in step 1 while trying to register...but we dont want this instead i want cute thank u for register dialog so what we do is make it always jump to good dialog that is thank u dialog

now when je is highlighted look at bottom for offsets and remember the value after offset..h means hex editors and not important..

##step 5##(very important)

now either drag offline chm.exe to hiew icon or open from hiew inside...

follow these as mentioned or u will ruin exe file

a.press enter twice to reach decode mode
b.press f5 and enter offset value(dc9b in this case) and press enter
c.u will reach je command...here we will add nop value to change je to nop..
d.press f3(edit) and then f2(diassembly)
e.delete all and add nop command(alternative je to jne and skip step f)
f.u will another offset has appeared and will nop this also similarly.
g.we have 2 nop commands
h.press f9(save) and f10 (exit)

now run ur program and try to register :)

IMPORTANT NOTE:
THIS IS NOT ACTUAL CRACK AS U CAN STILL SEE UNREGISTERED DISPLAY BUT JUST TO GET PEOPLE A FEELING OF CRACKING I MADE THIS TUTORIAL...
TRY URSELF FURTHER AND IF U ABLE TO GET RID OF UNREGISTER DISPLAY FEEL FREE TO POST HERE BUT DONT ASK ME ;)

am student by occupation and due to sheer curiosity i made this tutorial ..as i said before all programs hav diff coding so cracking isnt same for all...
am not intersted in ur repo and neither am high profile cracker so no challenge here :)

people ..its not proffessional cracking tutorial..its juz to giv a feeling of cracking and little knowledge so dont pm me saying can it be used to crack other programs!! try urself and feel free to post if u can work with other also

I am looking forward to buy a N95 to replace my i-mate jasjam because it sounds so advanced technologically but there is no chance of that happening if i can't open my ebooks!!!

I own full versions of adobe, isilo 4.32, chm reader, lit reader, djvu to open my books in pdb, chm, pdf, djvu, lit formats to say the least and still use skype and msn on my windows mobile 5.0 pocket pc with so much ease. Can i continue doing these things on a N95 with its symbian S60 3rd edition series and still benefit from full screen view, automatic scrolling, dictionary, search, etc.. Please tell me i will be able to do all that on a N95!!

I can't imagine having to buy all the softwares again because of a different OS! Are there free versions of these software or should i look for cracks. Even these seem so difficult to find for the symbian S60 3rd edition enabled phones!

Anyone having more information, please have it posted.
