Don't you have to have installed this as a 3rd part app

eg.Wayfinder Navigator or TomTom Navigator 5 etc..

As far as i know 3rd edition phones (mine is a N80) don't come preinstalled with any such app.

And anyway you still need a gps bluetooth device to use any "Navigator" app.

I can't find it either.. Is it an operator installed thing as i'm in uk on o2 and they don't do it. Did you get your phone with a gps receiver.?

it's under taskman-->misc--->options--->show hidden apps & show all preinstalled file...

then go to the "installed" function, u'll just scroll down, u'll see applications installed under Memory and Phones.. and there you go, GPS NAVIGATOR !!

YO people, there is a posibility that these proggies are revealed and activated when a nokia gps is connected.Ihave a BT 338 gps unit and i'll test it tomorrow.So far it worked like a charm with smartcomgps-still waiting for a keygen.If you check nokia's site under support for the gps devices you'll find some java apps ,also for test tomorrow.The most important for now is to find a way to make sortcuts, by theway did anybody found how to add apps to go to???

I managed to get this working on N80 too but whats the point? unless you go camping or something i dont see the use for this software without country maps. Could nokia be paving the way for their own brand of sat nav software?

My N91 and Royal Tek gps receiver are paired and setup correctly but when I go into landmarks it searches and says "Position request failed.Try again?".

well, this is not a replacement of tomtom..
but this apps let me know the gps coordinates of my position, and use it for using with other software, like google earth, a planetary, or simply for statistics.

Found the Navigator option, when I went to run it, it was looking for bluetooth gps device so looks good. However does this navigator allow for maps to be shown similar to route 66 or is route 66 and wayfinder the only ones that can show them map as well?

P.s anyone been able to get a cr**ked version of route 66 yet??

This tool can be a great tool to free try out a bluetooth gps. And about the lack of support for country maps. A lot of the gps you can by for camping purposes lack support for maps, but people still buy them :)

You can still save landmarks and navigate your way through the forest, where maps aren´t that usefull.

And for those who can´t find the application. Make sure you have the setting show preinstalled applications on, and that you are looking for "compass" in your local language.

i found it helpfull on my N80 if i wanted to landmark a place so i know the exact distance from one place to the other,plus not to mention my actual speed that i am doing on my motorcycle plus actual distances (not like the cheating speedos that all vehicles do)max speed,trip master etc etc..its a great usefull app for those who have GPS bluetooth if you dont have a gps then forget this app its of no use!!

the only way of finding the NAVIGATOR icon is by using the program called TASKMAN, search for it through this forum there was a link posted and follow the procedures posted on page 1...

I followed the instructions and I have to find "LmkMsgViewer" but that does not function and ia "Landmarks" but is not hide on my N91.

Well those 2 programs are included in compass or navigator. So it´s better to start the program compass.

If you start scrolling from the bottom, it should be appear quite soon. Look for compass in your own language.

but I don't think they,ve got a s60v3 version for your N80. The N80 navigator is useful for basic navigating like put a co-ordinate where u wish to go and follow the arrow.

hmm.. its somewhere in the middle of the list.. i can find it.. mine's latest version of n80 V4.xxx..

It asks for bluetooth and network positioning. I guess network is through triangualtion which is pretty accurate.

Have aholox 32 channel gps and tried it with nav4all (which incidentlally seem tied in to nokia and appears in beta form which may explain these?) it was SHITE. First time using gps and soooo disappointed. Pish!

Not hidden on the E series phones, the tools folder in the menu contains Position, Navigator and Landmarks.

On the E series, the navigator isn't compatible with SPPSlave Bluetooth GPS's. Its fairly basic, and only works with some GPS's. I'd say a better option would be SmartCom, seeing as I've been unable to get Route66 and Tomtom for s60v3 to work. SmartCom is pretty cool, I'm beginning to like it.

Yes there is. I have N80i (Internet Edition) and the "Navigator" is right there.
Only the name can be different. Use the Best Taskman to find it.
Just look for the icon and it looks like "compass"

Works perfect on my N80-IE using a HOLUX GPS device.
I suppose no one found a way to "shortcut" it yet...

some people here are wrong or did'nt use it with a GPS.
it show altitude, the average speed, maximum speed, instant speeed, the trip distance, total trip time, odometer, etc.

If that means nothing to you people...then i suppose the Route 66 is somehow gold and dimonds for you. R66 has "maps"...even SmartCOMP has...

what i would like more for my n73me is to be able to get a shortcut for the multimedia which only opens music on this model. the app is there to start and to configure thrpough the taskman.

something to consider since it would be very usefull for us with me editions that dont want to give up better music player compared to n73

Den if we dun have taskman, what can we use? Are there any other options? I've tried TomTom Mobile but I cant seem to install....and I'm in singapore but TomTom doesnt have Singapore's map so abit useless to me anyway...

Hi all, just figured away how to create a shortcut for the landmarks app. If you go to the active standby settings you can choose to have the landmarks app on the active standby screen creating a shortcut.

This is the quickest way of making a shortcut. Hope this works for you.

Go to menu > tools > settings > phone > standby mode > active standby apps > pick shortcut 1, 2, 3 etc > and landmarks will be under data cable, select landmarks and job done.

Still no way to create a shortcut! Cannot find Navigator, Landmarks or any other hidden app. in active standby apps. Using a N71.

what phone r u using since I can't find it on my N80IE?

in order to get GPS navigator on your phone you need TASKMAN all you need to do is taskman-->misc--->options--->show hidden apps-->installed ..and you will find the navigator!!Enjoy. thanks to my friend Mihalis (Nervous) also..

it's not show hidden apps...change the show preinstalled app to yes

Can´t understand why all you people find this app useful...Still don´t have GPS inside,so what will you do with it???You still need a bluetooth GPS receiver to make the communication between your mobile and the satellites...

HTC P3600,when came to the market, dind´t come with GPS but now with a new ROM available on their website that it´s possible and also give you the oportunity to download a map of a city of your choice for free.He doesn´t need to have an external GPS.He comes with an internal antena...That´s a shame for me and for my Nokia N80 that doesn´t come with the same equipment.
