PLEASE NOTE THAT I WILL NOT TAKE ANY KIND OF RESPONSIBILITY IF U TURNED UR PHONE INTO AN EXPENSIVE PIECE OF JUNK OR U LOSE UR DATA BY FOLLOWING THE TUTORIAL BELOW...! DO IT AT UR OWN RISK..!!! AND DON'T FORGET TO BACKUP ALL UR DATA BEFORE MESSING AROUND WITH UR PHONE... AND MAKE SURE UR BATTERY IS NOT TOO LOW (ABOVE 80% IS RECOMMENDED)

FIrst u have to download FAR Manager from

[Only registered and activated users can see links] and apply the update u can download from
[Only registered and activated users can see links] then download the SEFP plugin from
[Only registered and activated users can see links](credits goes to Darkmen for this marvelous plugin)
download the USB Flash driver (attached below)

extract the driver anywhere u want C:\EPIUSB is recommended
goto control panel>>add new hardware>>have disk>>point to EPIUSB.INF file u've just extracted
restart ur computer
install FAR manager (ie. to C:\Program Files\Far)
extract the plugin to (ie. C:\Program Files\Far\Plugins\SEFP)
plug ur DCU-60 (USB cable that came along ur k750i/w800i) to ur computer (DO NOT PLUG THE OTHER END TO UR PHONE YET...!)
Turn ur phone OFF
remove the battery for a few seconds, then put it back (DO NOT TURN IT ON..!)
run FAR Manager
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

press Alt F1
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

choose SEFP (the plugin we installed earlier)
leave the default settings, press ENTER THE MATRIX button
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

now press and hold the C button on ur phone, then plug to ur DCU-60 cable
at this point, FAR Manager will detect ur phone, and try to make a connection to ur phone (ur phone should be still OFF right now)
FAR will display the folders and files in ur phone on the left window, right window is ur computer's disk
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

when it's ready, go to FS/TPA/preset/system/menu on the phone
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

u'll see menu.ml there, select and press F5 on ur keyboard, a window will pop up, just press enter (this will copy the menu.ml file to ur computer for backup | default is C:\program files\FAR)
then copy that file u just downloaded (i call this A) from ur phone to other directory with windows explorer (i call this backup B)
open A with notepad, and u'll see a common XML file.
change the bold lines from

do the same to Desktop Element2, Desktop Element3, ...,
Desktop Element12
remember to change the number sequence (1,2,3.., 12) according to desktop element..!
now copy the modified menu.ml file back to ur phone
in FAR, choose the file on the right explorer window, and press F5, then press enter
now u can make ur own icons to use in ur phone, both PNG and static GIF files are supported.
u must use this pattern for naming the icons u want to use...
icon?_selected.png, icon?_unselected.png where ? is the number 1 to 12
so u must provides 24 icons (12 unselected, and 12 selected)
place them in one folder on ur computer
then browse that folder with the right pane in FAR, and select them all with shift UP / DOWN on ur keyboard
press F5 and then just press enter to copy them all to ur phone

when the copy process finished, go back to the root by pressing ENTER on ..
keep doing it until a RED window popup "DO YOU WANT TO SHUTDOWN CSFS LOADER?" select YES and press ENTER

YOU MUST GO BACK TO THE ROOT BEFORE U UNPLUG UR PHONE..!!!
now u may unplug ur phone from ur DCU-60.
remove the battery for a few seconds, and put it back
press and hold power button for a few seconds until it turned ON
enjoy ur new menu...!!!

Just asking before i do this. is there anyway we can download this without installing the download far manager? i mean someone who has downloaded it already can put it on fastupload or some upload place we can use? without downloading any other app? it's a bit strenous to just install a software where i will be using just once and will mess with my settings i have already?

fyi, the maker of this FAR manager is the same person who create winRAR..
and the installer is winrar itself with some modification by himself...
so it's ok...
the FAR manager is a DOS like app (console)..
it wont mess with ur system...

DOS? so does it run on xp as well and since it does...will i need a floppy drive to run it from? i remember flashing my boards for updates with the same interface and it's a bit of hack since i have to place my oldie floppy (i swear it has been 3 years since i have last used that) drive.

ok ok... this is just a normal app...
i run it on my winxp sp2 without any error..
i dont need to run it from a floppy disk...
and this app does not have any GUI (Graphical User Interface), which means it's just like the old DOS apps...

How can i add more Boot Script option? The current Boot Script that i have is only k600_CID36 and z800_CID36 and does not contain my phone, which is k750i...How could i add more? The plugin from the link above dont contain Boot Script for k750i...A litte help here please? Thanks :)

I have a W550i. I'm guessing that this trick will work with my phone. I just have one question, the cable that came with my phone is not the same cable that came with a K750 or W800. Is it okay that I use this or would I really need to have the DCU 60?

as far as i know, w550i is packed with DCU-60... it has the same port as k750/w800 (which is called fastport)
so the USB cable should be the same...

It says that I need to have EPIUSB.sys installed. I know that that is the USB flash driver. I have downloaded it from another forum but I do not know how to install it. It is NOT an executable file. The rar file i got has EPIUSB.inf and EPIUSB.sys. Where do I extract these files?

One more thing, the 2nd link on this first post you were saying was an update of the FAR Manager??? Where do I extract it?

It would really help if you assume that the we are all idiots to modding.

the FAR update u download above, should be extracted in the same place where u installed the FAR...
default is C:\program files\FAR
simply overwrite all files that existed...

about the EPIUSB.INF and EPIUSB.SYS...
u can extract it anywhere u want, i suggest C:\EPIUSB
go to control panel >> add new hardware >> do not detect >> have disk >> point it to ur extracted EPIUSB.INF
then restart ur computer...
try connecting ur phone with FAR manager again...
repeat the steps from the beginning..

and if u dont see anything (folders) under FS, it means ur phone is NOT connected with FAR...

but i've held the "c" and didnt let go of it while it was being detected? wont the FS menu run if the phone is not detected a tall? there are two gates that i know the far software is detecting the phone where i have to hold the "c" while it is being detected. i did that. but still? most i have seen it work for k750 posters out there but for w550, i have seen another user out there who has given up on thsi cosmetic change...sigh..it seems that i have to give up too. too bad.

u may release it as soon as FAR detects ur phone (u'll see 2 folders, FLASH and FS)

LiveDevil i conected my k750i all good but when i go to FS is empty like in ice_magist pic..(if the phone wasnt conected then neither ES or FLASH apeared ;) ).Caould that be due to the firmware? i got my phone locked on orange romania ;)

To livedevil - after detecting the phone...while holding "c" it does go the fs menu option but when i choose it there is nothing inside FS in which where the menu.ml should be... this is what i do...while holding the "c" button the far manager is detecting my phone then after that another menu shows up and still saying that i have to hold the "c" button...( i ddint let go of the "c" button still) then after that it detects my phone and sees to option to choose...the other is FS so i choose FS...then the unstructions you gave that i should go to FS>presetes>menu>system (or something like that) is nowhere to be found under the FS menu there is only a blank space where in your screenshots shows that the "menu.ml" should be. but no menu.ml My profession is in computer graphic arts (especially mobile design and entertainment) and would like to extend my gratitude by creating menu's as well. my other site where i upload my themes is at "h**p:\\[Only registered and activated users can see links]" I hope you can help me with this...

this is pretty weird... as i have no problem connecting my k750 (and 3 of my friend's) to any computer (so far, i've tested on 4 computers with different specs, 3 XP SP2 and 1 Win2K SP4, all works fine...
i tested all 4 k750s with different firmwares (including mine)
i hate to say this, but from what i read (the answer of Darkmen the maker of this wonderful SEFP regarding this problem), it's because ur phone is CID49...
and it's not possible to access the CID49 File System through FAR manager...
at least not until Darkmen make it possible...

restart ur computer
do NOT run any application
turn off ur phone
remove the battery for a few seconds
then put it back
press and hold C button
then plug it into USB cable
windows will detect new hardware and ask for the driver
point to EPIUSB.INF file
done

From the FAR Manager you can install the Flash Plug-ins.
