Well, originally this thread was located at the Sony Ericsson section... But i'll allow all phones from now on! But better resolutions?? Who cares about that - as i wrote the max res is VGA... And when it comes to camera areas, Sony Ericsson is the best to create camera phones...

rite now i m in london, i was just roaming around few days back when i took this pic from my new w900i. it was around 10:30pm. the pic u can see is the Piccadilly Circus.(sorry if spellings r wrong and dnt take it literally as the circus). as u can see it was night time and was taken with just the auto focus function on. no night mode, no flash.

Well... Caused by me going on a vacation, this months competition ends NOW.

All the judgements are based on 3 areas: overall-photo, colour & story behind the shot.

The judgements are hard, but fair, and there can only be one winner each month.

Here are the judgements:


Skullker:

It's a nice picture. But it's far from flawless: u've cut off some of the hand and the picture is a bit blurry at the top. Besides no autofocus (i do know it's not ur fault, but if this photo was taken with eg. a k750, it would have focus, and the picture would have been better.
Some places the colours are VERY nice, but in some places they are kind of like disorted and looks weird.
The story behind the picture is the best of this month. I really like it!

Colour: 7/10
Story: 9/10

Overall grade: 73,33 %


LiveDevil:

The picture is very nice. A nice subject, too. However, i think it could have been better if u had leaned forward, so that u don't see the stonewall and houses and people.
The colours are very much like the reality (i think ;)), but the sky looks extremely white, however.
The story behind the picture is not bad, but not great either.

Hmm... U've trying to catch an urban life style picture, right? Well, u've managed to do so... However i'm not sure if piccadilly circus looks better at daytime than nighttime... ;) ??
U gave ur self a challenge with shooting such a dark picture with really sharp white highlights on a mobilephone. And i must say the outcome would have been better with a real digital camera - however it's really not bad considering it's been shot with a mobile without flash and nightmode on!!
The story is... Well, i started laughing... ;) "only autofocus, no nightmode, no flash"... haha

Very nice shot, especially centering those three gals ;)... haha... I like the sunflare coming down from the top of the picture. However, i didn't like the fact that u had cut of some of ur Fiancee's elbow and bag and some of her cousin's head... :(
The colours look a little bit... hmm... too much in some places? u can see that the top of the gals heads are all white caus of the sun, propably caused by choosing a wrong whitebalance... Anyway the rest of the colours look real and not fake at all! :D

i live in a country where we only have 2 seasons in a year. humid n dry. This picture were taken on a highland in my country called Genting Highland. It is 1 of the coldest place in Malaysia. Because of the cold tempreture up there, flowers can bloom nicely. This pic were taken when i went there with my friends. Again, it was taken using my SE k750i.

At last i found some flowers to post.

Taken from my aunty's flower pot yesterday when i visited her house.

OK, just before AUgust actually ends, i'll post my entry.
I did not use my ASUS V66 for this one, but actually a Nokia 6600.

this was taken during our field trip in Ilocos, northern part of the Philippines.
The flower was in a Butterfly Haven, so I thought of taking its picture with a butterfly on top of it. but on second thought, the flower has to be the subject of the image. btw, our trip was fun. :D

This is a pic of a yellow orchid corsage and white rose buttonhole as worn to a wedding (yes, my pic from July was from the same wedding... and if you look closely in that previous pic, you can see the orchid on my girlfriend's white top!)

Here's another one taken on a daytrip to Loch Lomond (kind of near Glasgow-ish) I love the fact there's a wee guy fishing with his pale blue tracksuit rolled up to his knees in the foreground! (does any other country have Neds/Townies/Chavs, etc. or know what they are? - He's a Ned.)

neway, i think u should not allow photos taken by digicam, coz of the different between qualities.. phone cam so far can reach at most is 3.2 megapixel only but digicam can reach up to 7 megapixel.. isn't that a bit unfair...

What's unfair? The max. res is VGA - which is 0,3 megapixel or 640 by 480 pixels.

This is a pic in the evening from my terrace

Well i kno i did n ot get a proper pic but i thought this is the best among so many i shot !

Now the story:I was as usual in the terrace (it is summer season here in India) and when i was walkin i saw a group of birds(Crows) jus flying, and i landed up takin their pic for this competition.
Phone used : Nokia 6233
Original pic resolution : 1600 x 1200
Alterations made : Ive jus auto balanced & auto contrasted the pic using Adobe Photoshop. Change the resolution to 640 x 480.

I kno its nothin compared to [X3M] & LiveDevil's pics. Both their pics are too gud!! ;)

well...this thread looks fun and enjoying..i do not rear any animal and it's hard to take a nice animal picture...then,i saw this lizard on the ceiling..looking so peacefull..so i use my n80 and took a photo of it...didn't edit the picture or anything as i took it as 640x480 pixels

HINTS:
These kind of shots can look really nice in black/white, too. Try and mix some colors - also sepia shots look good. If you just hit the perfect light in the face, then that can give a really nice picture. Remember the good lighting and expressions / emotions always add an extra angle of the picture.

Well, the main reason why i choose him, was that he kinda had a theme in his picture. i mean, i could really imagine the music playing in the background, people enjoying themselves and then this image, probably with the girl singing. you could really see the whole thing in her eyes and her emotions.

Story:
That is the real car used on the movie called: "Back to the Future" part 1-3 starring Michael J. Fox. The picture is taken with my old 6630 at Universal Studio, Los Angels, California.

Changes made:
Resize to 640 x 480 screen resolution and made inverted adjustment using Adobe Photoshop.

I was not able to read the updated rules so I changed my pic.

This picture was taken today (around five minutes ago). I had to change it because my previous picture's is out of date. Hahaha! So I've taken a picture of my keyboard. Nothing fancy. Just a plain old PC keyboard.

This was taken using a Sony Ericsson K800i.
