Go to theme menu, select theme other than the one you want to delete. Then delete the theme you want to delete by pressing "C"...

By the way, can you edit your post from "Anybody help me" to "Anybody help me please"? Using the magic word is the least you can do in asking for help!

Man Nokia being incredibly stupid, there is no way to delete themes from the Themes menu. U have to go to Application Manager, find the name of the theme, and uninstall it from there. God, Nokia are really dumb sometimes ...:)

am facing the same problem, some themes are not deletable and am not talking about the preinstallled ones !

for example XP_SP2 theme, there is no delete option in theme menu or app manager , you have to format your phone to get rid of it. am afraid there is no other solution.. time for a new firmware !

There is guyz ! Plug your USB cable and select Data transfer so the phone can simulate USB stick. Go to Removable Disk and search for some folders with dumb names like 'y9tyiufdsh943' in the folder 'private' there is some other sh*t like ' dfsih7h4h' and there is a folder ' import' find the folder with your theme and delete whole folder. It worked on my 3250. Good luck.
btw this is how it looked the path with me :
' I:\private\10207114\import\0a4937503cfee177 '

-fankafan maybe you`ve selected 'PC Suite ' as default action. Go to Menu> connectivity> Data cable and select Connection mode> Ask on Connection or Data Transfer.
but i dont know how u can delete it if you have installed it on the phone, not on MMC

If you delete a theme in this way (the private folder) you are then unable to reinstall that theme. I deleted a great theme by mistake and now as a result it won't reinstall. Any ideas anyone?

as far as i know 3250 is configurated like e61.

on e61 it works uncomplicated like this:

go to menue -> open systems -> open program manager (the one with the 4 blue cubes -> there you can see after a few seconds of loading ALL data transfered to your mobile including the minisd -> select and delete the theme you want. i donīt know if it works with 3250. normally it should.

heeheehee you sound just like me. I'm insatiable when it comes to themes on my n80. And i would assume nokia has some sort of quota for how much info can be displayed correctly in the app manager.

ok, there is no folder named themes at app. manager! you should just search for the name of the theme (e.g. if the file name of the theme you have downloaded is called "brushed metal", you will find there, at app. manager, a file named brushed metal. once you delete this you will never find "brushed metal" in menue->themes. just go for the names of the themes at app. manager and you should find them. if not, i donīt know. you should ask mr. nokia:drinkers:

Maybe you didnt read the question properly.

ok. My firmware all uptodate and still same theme prob. All themes show up in themes but cant remove from there. Only some show up in app manager that i can remove. Some of those shown i've removed and on checkin back in themes they are still there and i can still use them. I've used ybrowser and sysexplorer but there is no where to find these themes presumably due to nokia's blockin of system files.

The original poster says he cannot delete it from app manager and i also am having the same problem. I think it is a case whereby its working on some phones and others its not. I will try to see if i have success the card-reader route, though why it has to be done by that method and not via app-manager is a question nokia needs to answer.

Fabulous, great, tried it and it works on my n80. Finally a working solution. All we need now is a file explorer that allows us to see that file on the phone.

Finally, better than the card reformat nuisance. The card reader method works for both my N80 & E61. Finally can get rid of those incompatible Themes on the E61.

I also can see the themes in the AppMan and remove them from there.

The nice part is that all themes are one next to the other in the list. Games are the same, symbian and java apps also. :)

Firmware:
v 3.21
01.04.06
RM-38
Nokia 3250

Alexx0_o

The solution (and you dont need a silly cardreader!):

1. Open app.manager
2. Wait.... no, really. I mean WAIT! even after the list shows up.
3. After a minute or two... you will realize that the missing items ARE THERE.
4. Delete whatever you want.

Remember to don't press any buttons while waiting for the list to complete, otherwise you will cancle the process.

You only have to do this one time. After you've done it once you will never have to do it again unless you format the phone.

how can the same software act different from one phone to another ?! come on ! it's not like this is an option or add-on, it's one of the software's basic functions: uninstalling an app from the app man ...

Alexx0_o
23rd August 2006, 12:45
Try to wait even longer. It depends on how many apps you have installed. If nothing else works, just open the app. manager and leave the phone for 15 min and then come back.

I had this exactly same problem on my N80 a while back untill i read somewhere that you have to wait while not pressing any buttons and the list will expand.

dani2xll
26th August 2006, 23:27
i've not got time to wait 15 minutes to be able to delete a theme. Whats that all about. If nokia could make it work in n70 and other phones whats wrong with the 0s9.1 series.

choose mass storage when connecting to usb, u can find your theme at private\10207114\import\xxxxxxx there you can see the folder of that theme you can manually delete it. my advicedont insrall your theme at sd, use phone memory instead.
