Basic requirement: Adobe Photoshop

How to Make Mask for Icons easily (from image file with Transparency Background)

Step – 1 – S60 Icon Wizard
Open PNG format image in photoshop (ex. LUNKs_Bbirthday_44x44.png)

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 2 – S60 Icon Wizard
Press (D) – to make the foreground color black

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 3 – S60 Icon Wizard
Press (Alt)+(Shift)+(Backspace) – to fill only existing pixels (Preserve Transparency) with the foreground color (Black).

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Resize the image
Now masking for S60 Icon Wizard is finished save as BMP format.

Step – 4 - Nokia Theme Studio
Choose Layer > Flatten Image, or choose Flatten Image from the Layers palette menu

Step – 5 - Nokia Theme Studio
Press (Ctrl)+(I) – to invert the color

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Now masking for Nokia Theme Studio is finished save as BMP format.

How to Make Icons more smooth without white edges is shown all around in to the icon (from image file with Transparency Background) – S60 Icon Wizard

Step – 1
Open PNG format image in photoshop (ex. LUNKs_Bbirthday_44x44.png)

Step – 2
Choose Layer > Duplicate Layer… > OK

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 3
Press (Alt)+([) – to selet layer 0

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 4
Choose Filter > Other > Minimum…

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Change the Radius to 1 pixels

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Resize the image
Now icon for S60 icon wizard is finished save as BMP format.

If u have icon & mask icon in BMP format, u can make them back to image file with Transparency Background

Step – 1
Open mask icon image in photoshop (ex. ScreenSnap_44x44mask_Theme_Studio.bmp)
Follow Step 3, below, if you have mask icon for S60 Icon Wizard (white background)
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 2 - Nokia Theme Studio
Press (Ctrl)+(I) – to invert the color

Step – 3
Press (Ctrl)+(A) – to select Canvas
Then Press (Ctrl)+(C) – to copy the selection
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 4
Open icon image in photoshop (ex. ScreenSnap_44x44.bmp)
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 5
Choose Layer > New > Layer From Background… > OK
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 6
Press (Q) - to edit in Quick Mask Mode
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 7
Press (Ctrl)+(A) - to select Canvas
Then Press (Ctrl)+(V) - to paste the mask icon selection in Quick Mask Mode
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 8
Press (Q) - to back in Standard Mode
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Step – 9
Press (Delete) - to clear the selection.
Then Press (Ctrl)+(D) – to deselect selection
[Only registered and activated users can see links]

Now icon with transparency background is finished save as PNG or PSD format.

i hav icon of size 255 * 255

how can i make a icon 44* 29 for the list view..............
without losing the aspect ratio

if i just resize 29*29...
the icon is not placed at the centre if i try to move it am not able to move the mask icon with the orginal one....
