Hi Russell,

Many many thanks for setting this forum up. It'll be great to have one place to look for all our TomTom needs - especially the speed camera database.

I'm running TTM v5.200 (443), GPS driver v1.20 & UK map v6.05 on my Nokia 7710. The large touch screen is perfect for viewing maps and because the 7710 has a very large speaker (for a mobile) the voice instructions are far louder than on the 6600 or 6630, which I'd previously used. I would recommend a 7710 to anybody that wants to get the best out mobile GPS. The only small downside is you have to use a genuine TomTom GPS unit - 3rd party bluetooth receivers won't work.

No news yet I'm afraid dani2xl. How are you getting on with tomtom on your N70 , are you having any of the problems some others have reported ?
I've got V5.0616.2.0.3 on my N70 & using a BT-77 gps receiver, not used it very much, but not had any problems so far on journeys up to @ 20 miles.

Hi everyone,

Had Tom Tom installed on my 6680 and it worked fine, only problem was with the postcodes. For some reason, It would only allow me to put in the first 3 numbers of the postcode and from then on it wanted the street name and house number. Quite annoying. Now have the same version on my N70 which is working ok but still need to resolve the issue....can anyone help??

I have tried a couple of fixes but nothing seems to work? Thanks in advance

@ xxsunshine, when you select 'Navigate To' go the the second page & then select 'Postcode', I think you must of selected 'Address'.

Question for you all....i have a BGT 7000 bluetooth sat unit and is it any good? bought it for £30 brand new from a guy who did not need the thing...it works on my nokia 6670 but takes its time (about 50 seconds) to lock onto the signal from the sats....is this normal?.

Not got or seen one of these, but they are around the £50-00 mark & found this bit of info about it :-

It's great working on both phones.

What I'm looking for since month is the Alps Region Map.

Hi dixieuk.
I've already posted the June 30th release of the speed cameras :D, but please feel free to post the next ones as soon as they are released. I haven't got a susbscription to the camera database so it usually take me a day or two longer to obtain them.

I see you've got a 510 & a N70 - how do they work together on the bluetooth handsfree function ? The reason I'm asking is that I've got a 500 & a N70 and had never ending problems with them - the N70 uses a newer bluetooth version - V2 which is not fully compatible with the Go 500. The making & receiveing of phone calls was never a problem, the problem only ever occured after a call had been made or received through bluetooth & then disconnect the phone from the Go. Then when I made or received a call just using the phone whoever I was talking to could hear an echo of their own voice.
It took me quite some time to find out what the problem was - I even had SEVEN replacement N70s thinking it was a problem with the phone, but eventually found out it was the bluetooth on the Go 500 - it was not fully disconnecting & so causing the problem. Then after several months of trying to sort it out the tomtom technical department finally gave up and eventually gave me £100-00 refund.

they work fine together as a hands free but unfortunetly with this firmware cant use the address book or the texting sevices but definatly no echo
a few problems with the docking arm though as it keeps drooping :cry:

There is a way to manually add your contacts, let me know if you want help with this. Nothing can be done about the texting sevices but as you cant text whilst driving it doesn't really matter.

Hi Russell,

Using N70 with s/w v5.0616.2.0.3 connected to GobalSat BT-338 GPS unit

App version 5.200(443); Gps driver v1.20;
Maps GB Plus v632 and sometimes GB v605

Generally working great, every now and then the GPS and N70 will briefly lose connection [ says no valid gps], then auto connect again. Sometimes I need to manually reconnect the bluetooth again by using 'configure' on the GPS status page and swapping in and out of device.

Have you had any problems like this with any other setups?

@ tcj - I haven't used tomtom on my N70 very much as I've also got a Go 500, but so far I haven't had any problems with it.

Regarding the number of different threads - I've tried to keep different topics etc. in different threads to make it a bit easier for anyone go straight to the area they want information for. The only time its gets a bit confusing is if anyone asksmore that one question in a thread that is about more than one topic, but if you or anyone else has got any suggestions about how they would like to have this tomtom forum set up then please let me know.

Sorry gimp, the only Sony Ericsson that works with Tomtom is the P910.

hi guys i have TomTom 5.20 on my N70 with a Oasis Bluetooth GPS receiver but everytime when it tries to find a fix it says no usable GPS-Signal. Can i rather use Route66 mobile or do i need some configuring? it's on for like 10 minutes and it's lieing in my window. have to wait longer?

Have you got your GPS settings configured properly on your N70 ?

I've got a N70 & been lucky not having any problems, some users have had a lot of connections problems, but there's plenty of other handset to choose from. It's worth getting a decent bluetooth gps receiver - look for one with a 'sirf III' chipset, I can't recommend one myself as I've got an older BT-77.

yeah i got it set to other bluetooth gps and it lying in my window from my house (window is open) maybe my antenna is broken or something. It's looking for a signal for like 90 min and still nothing :S myabe i need to try Route 66 mobile.

It could be thet either you house is blocking too much of the signal. Try it outdoors & close to a road.

A few months ago a friend tried to set up his pda with tomtom & was sat in the back garden for over 30 mins & never got a signal. After moving to the front of the house near to the road he got a sat lock in under 5 minutes - give it a go & see if that helps.

HI all,

I tried to instal TT5 for ppc on my MDA VARIO,dutch version, and i got a error when i run the setup.

Tom Tom setup application has encountered a problem and need to close.
Error signature:
AppName:setup.exe AppVer: 4.3.7.0 ModName : setup.exe
ModVer:4.3.7.0. Offset: 000423b

I have tried to instal it from a neighbours pc and same error.
Can some one help me with this?

I use ActiveSync 4.2.0. build 4876

yes thats why if any body got tt910 i can tell where it is located which i read form other forums Check for its presence by connecting the 910 to the PC then use Windows Explorer to locate the following TomTom/ LoquendoTTS/ EnglishGb/ Kate in this folder should be seven files. Kate folder is 311mb
simon folder is 294mb IF SOME ONE GOT IT PLZ HELP THE OLDER TOMTOMS AS WE DESERVE TEXT TO SPEECH ASWELL. THANKS AND PLZ UPLOAD AND SEND ME A LINK....

Hi all

My Tom Tom is a v 5.2 and I use it on a Palm T3 with a globalsat bluetooth receiver. I sometimes use 5.0 with a LD as %.2 seems not working with the LD.
I've recently bougth a N70 and just want to know where I should intall Tom Tom on this phone. Does I have the same kind of directory maps on the MMC than in Palm SD?

Hi,

I've got an HTC Magician (SPV M500, Qtek S100, ...) and ready to install...

...TomTom6 cra*ked; but still waiting for the v650 map of "Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein". It is seen as available on TomTom' website, but I was unable to find it anywhere so far... Any help much appreciated ;)

Till then, I installed v.5.2, and still downloading the Alps (taking ages...)

Hi moeloo, - I'm not familiar with your mda vario & I don't know which version of tomtom you need either, but which copy are you using & where did you get it from, & have you tried any other versions ?

MDA Vario is the same as Qtek 9100 pocketpc. I want to instal Tom Tom Navigator 5 for Windows Mobile 5. I have the copy of Bakonl 5.0 with Gracioso 5.21 update. I have tried it on a Qtek S200 and get the same error.On this Qtek S200 i have tried it with the original rom out of the box, a rom later ans the last rom that er is.Nothings works.
Nobody a sollution for me???
Tried it with ActiveSync 4.2 even with ActiveSync 4.1 and still not working.

hi ..nice thread...i am using a N70 at the moment and i have a cheap and chearfull bluetooth gps unit and they work just fine and i naved from london to scotland with no drop outs or loss of gps at all and some one posted about the time it takes for the unit to link the signals with gps....mine takes about 50 seconds and i think if you buy a decent unit it is less but i do not mind as it worked all the ay there....and back...and the total cost to me was £30 for the bluetooth sat unit and the tomtom was free of this great site..i can not bash it..simple as that..but a question...is there any way i can keep my bluetooth nokia crk carkit bluetooth connection and have the tomtom running on my phone at the same timewhile it isconnected to the bluetooth sat/nav unit ?...some sort of enhanced connection?....please let me know.....thanks.....and once again...a GREAT thread.. and i use tomtom 5.200)443) gps driver v1.20 uk map v562.

You should be able to have 2 bluetooth connections at the same time candymut. I've got a N70 with BT-77 gps receiver & a Parrot ' Rhythm'n'Blue ' radio & MP3 player with handsfree bluetooth facility & they both work at the same time - even get the direction instructions through the car speakers. Didn't do anything special to set this up apart from pairing up both devices.

Hi, I have a new car and planning to buy a magellan or garmin navigator, but if this tomtom works on my imate jam its a great saving for my money. Can anybody help me how to get this software with usa-california map and how to install it. Do i need a gprs connection? What im using is a prepaid cingular simcard, does it work or not. Hi, yes it works just the same like a all-in-one solution. Try, and you will see...

You do not need a SIM' card or GPRS' connexion, unless you plan to subscribe to TomTom services (information on traffic' jams and weather, etc.)

You will need a GPS receiver that can connect either with a wire or by bluetooth to your Jam. A bluetooth one is recommended, and will cost around 115$ (more or less, see ebay) a good technology is "SIRF III", like the model BT-338.

Then, get yourself TomTom 6 (TT6) from this forum + the map you need. Install, synchronise the GPS receiver with your Jam, and enjoy! :lol:

TomTom 5.2 on Nokia 9500 - only problem is I have a full hands-free car kit and can only hear directions. If I want to look at the maps display, have to open the phone up but nowhere to put it. Wife hates having to hold it so that I can look at the screen whilst driving.

hey guys, i have TomTom v6.000 7370 with the latest aussie maps, but i no longer have the option of running it sideways...

I upgraded from v5 to v6 and lost this funciton on my ipaq 6515 to run it sideways, so its very annoying and i am considering going back to v5

I am not sure but try this:
install .net compact frame work
Try version 1.1 first... if not then try 2.0

Hope it would solve your problem

If you want to use Tomtom 6 on a mobile phone then there are only a few handsets it will work on - Nokia N80 & N73 are two of them. I'm still using a N70 with TT5 so can't really comment on what the best handset is now.

HI i saw on this site that TT6 is compatible with * Sony Ericsson
P910i and propably is compatible with motorola A1000, but why it does not work on my side? Application not found... i had TTM 5 on this phone and its working corectly but no with ttm6. Mabe some1 have another TT6 on UIQ platform thats work corectly??.

Hi All and Russell1.
I was recommended to this site by Kiptower.
I have already placed a post on what Tomtom I have. But to repeat I have an early Tomtom Go (updated of course).
I also have an Ipaq 3870 that had TT nav 2 on it. With a Bluetooth GPS RX which I still have. I mostly use the Ipaq for reading ebooks, and I also have A-Z map of London for street finding. But it is so slow.
Recently I obtained Tom tom Nav 6. but it will not work on my Ipaq. I don’t know if it is the correct version. So help would be appreciated for this to get it working. I was not supplied with any I.D. codes. (No wonder it was cheap).

any suggestions on what bluetooth navigator to buy ?

i think its better to get one with a SiRF STAR III chipset, suposed to be shorter cold starts and better reception in built up areas.

although i just brought one and it still has 1 - 1.5 min cold start

curently running TTN v6.010 with great britain v650.1111 map on an N80 with BT GPS running well

ive tried other maps eg. great britain plus, but the bigger the map the slower it runs

Tap bottom RH corner of screen.
This shows programme version number bot rt.
Tap version number and get screen with info including map name and number.
OR open mapname.pna using notepad and see vers number. Mapname.pna is in the map directory.

Question for YOU GUYS!!!!!!!

I have the new Sprint PPC-6700 and it supports GPS navigational on it, but I can't seem to get any GPS navigational system to work on it. My winrar won't even extract the files to begin with and I have the newest Volume. 3.62.

Can somebody please walk me thru steps in which I can get any sort of GPS including Tom Tom or anything to work on it. Please its urgent!!!!! Thanks

Hi to everyone. Im Pill and have been recommened this fromu and this particular thread one of the disqworld moderators. I was asking a few questions on the Sat nav forum that were better answered here I was told !!

Anyways - I have a
1. Orange SPV M2000 Pda phone with TT6.01 map 650.1046 and
2. Tomtom GO 510 Ver6.52 and Map V660.1219

The reason that i was pointed to "speak" to russell1 as i was asking about Text to speech for the Tomtom Go as my m8 got himself a Tomtom go 910 and made me jealous with the computer voices !!

Welcome Pill. I'm not too sure about the text to speech, but I do know you'll need a bigger memory card and you'll also need to get a copy of your mates Go910 files - dont think you'll need his map file though as this will be a huge file. There are some languages that can be removed, but I have not been able to get a copy of the Go910 software to be able to try it out. (would like a copy if you can manage to obtain one :D)

Apologies for delay in reply. havent been at home afor a bit. Anyways - I will try and get the Full backup of tomtom go 910 in a couple of weeks. My m8 that has this is reluctant to "share" with me - but my brother has the same and Im due to see him in within a frotnight.

In the mean time please let me know how to transfer the (or more accuratly which files are needed) from 910. One of the forum members says that I might need to use an older version in my tt-go 510 for the TTV towork.

Hi,
I use Nokia 6670 with TT 5.000, and V608, V566, V 562 maps with GPS BT 88 and Wayfinder Royaltek II (on sale now) everythink works OK, load TT6 on my friend's Nokia N73, E50 and E60, everywhere works OK.
I have tryed maps in Germany, Austria and Italy, have no comment only home in Slovenia is covering just main roads and few biggest cities.

I bought Nokia's LD-3W (http://europe.nokia.com/A4160021). Pretty stylish, but lacks connector for external antenna. Should work very well with Nokias. I use it with PocketPC.

All running very well, all installed on S.D. card self installing could not be any easier to set up .could do with a more updated map but scared to upset what is already running in case I lose it .

I have a tomtom rider with GB map, but can't get it to detect other maps when copied to the SD, I'm new to this stuff and realy want the Western Europe map working as I'm touring in a couple of months time. Any Ideas?

As far as I know you just have to replace the map with the same folder name and it should all work ? I tried that once and it didn't work....i tried it another time with another version of tomtom and it worked fine.....im gona try again soon coz my maps out of date il post back some feedback when i do.

Make sure you have the correct version of Western Europe map. I think you need 1223. Open the .pna file and you will find the version.

Hi I've got TT6.020 (7900) installed on P990i with Great Britain V650.1111 map loaded.

However I do have one big problem MEMORY lack of....Can anyone help with nothing loaded I only have 9% RAM Memory available. TT therefore struggles to start.

I had no problems running TT5 on my old P910i

Hey guys just purchased the new NOKIA N72 running symbian S60 Version: 2.0635.3.0.2. (not sure if this is 2nd or 3rd generation)
I have nokia PC suite ver 6.82 running on my PC.

I am trying to identify which TOMTOM mobile version I need to run on my phone and which map versions are compatible.
Anyway I have alot of searching to do. So if any of you can recomend a TOMTOM version I would be much appreciative.

Tomtom 5.2 and map v.562, 563 & 566 is working properly in N72 phone.

Thanks for the info MannyJo. I successfully installed TOMTOM MOBILE 5.200 (443) GPS Driver V1.20 via RUSSELS link for complete install with UK maps.

The first step in this process was to identify which version of code my phone was runnig. I accomplised this via the *#0000# sequence on my N72.
The ouput was S60 Version: 2.0635.3.0.2.

Next I had to find out which version of TTmobile was compatible. after doing some research I came accross Russels post http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?t=113252

I downloaded the software unzipped the folder and copied the entire content into the root of my sim card via NOKIA PC SUITE file transfer tab.

thats it I went into MY OWN folder in N72 and sure enough there was a tomtom icon. Opened the icon and a bunch of DUTCH stuff came up. I then realized the language settings where set to DUTCH and I needed to change to English. I followed the instructions per Russel on how to change the language and it worked. I now have a fully working TT mobile application on my phone.

The next step is for me to install the correct maps for my region. Since I am located in North America I would need to install USA Canada Maps. Based on the information you and Russel provided I will search around to find the maps.

I have a TomTom 5.2 running on WM5 smartphone. Will I be able to use v6 maps, such as v650.1112 or v665.1294?
I've copied a folder with v650.1112 onto the memory card, but TomTom doesn't seem to recognize it. Is there anything else needed to enable the maps? Should I use any utilities to convert the maps to the proper format?

I am using HTC s620 Excalibur (a.k.a. Dash), which is a WM5 SmartPhone, and I guess I can't install TT6 on it. Let me know if my assumption is wrong.

I'm currently running 566 maps. If you know of anything more recent, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Am i correct to say TomTom6 will not work on my Nokia 6680 but the maps from TomTom6 will work with my version of TomTom on Nokia 6680 ???

Do you know if this is the latest map ?

It's the latest map that works on Tomtom v5, there are newer maps but they only work on Tomtom v6.

Think the 660.1223 maps were released at the end of November 2006.
Tomtom mobile v5 is cracked - so no need for any codes.

Had Tom Tom installed on my N93 and it worked fine on portrait view but if i want it in landscape got funny screen. i want to open in landscape view so i can see it on my external monitor as a full screen. but... any one here encountered the same problem. thanks!: :) cry:

Hi Everyone - This is my first post. I have browsed the threads on here for a couple of days and there is some great stuff on here. :partyman:

I have got a TomTom G910 with these maps
Australia V6.5 map
Western Europe V6.6
Usa & Canada V6.6
Eastern Europe V6.6
Canary Islands V?.?

I have also got a HP Ipaq hx2190 with cracked TT6.0 running all the above maps on various SD cards depending on which one is in the device of course.

I got a copy of TT Australia V6.75 from here which I copied over the top of my V6.5 map and it works great. Lots of Map errors in my local area have been fixed. :)

I'm trying to figure a way to get the Aus V6.75 map onto my Go910 and will have a go at using the KeyGen crack because it requires an activation code of course.

I'm in the middle of downloading the Western & Central Europe Map V6.75 and can only get 3 parts at a time using Megaupload. A couple of the parts are not available at the moment . . but i'll post again when I need the missing ones. :prayer:

I have N73 and TOM TOM 6.02 version,
- i practice some problems with installation of Binpda cracked version on N73, E61, N80, and i found a solution that i first instal 6.01 version from Elincondedey (which need registration of maps), and than install 6.02 version and it si working perfectlly.
- the second problem is using of some GPS receivers afther installing new firmware on N73 (above 4.xxx). It is working with Nokia, but BT is not working.

Any other problems and solution maybee.
