As I encounter more problem & learn to Fix others Nokia Smartphone.
It's all start from my N-gage QD.
It's a Gamer-phone ,So a "Hardcore" game phone always run out of memory and causing all the problem . The game wouldn't run and always showing "out of memory" message , whats wrong . Nokia design a crap product?

To me , it's just like a PC we using everyday . remember that when yours taskbar showing lots of start-up Icon . Usually the PC will runing slow or hang ! this is the same thing happen to yours N-gage ....

this is why Nokia never redesign the OS to support theme .and it is like The old hardware or the amout of Memory just not enough to run more colors and Apps. This is the things happen when you try to store so many apps and store large number of media on the phone.

Nokia design N-gage to run each game with a single MMC (32,64MB etc) todays MMC or RS MMC become so cheap and everyone try to Download more game as possible and loading all game file to they phone . This is something that nokia never encounter the hackers & cracker will "pioneer" they game for FREE!!! :drinkers:

lite solution for Memory problem:
1.Keep yours start-up program run as less as possible (3rd party Screen saver,Key Locker, Anti-virus/Scanner etc).
2.Use "Msv DriveE" to save all incoming message to yours MMC(Move Mail message for C:\System\Mail to E:
3.Reduce the Logs record
4.Uninstall Some Apps from "Manager" (When Restart or reset dosen't work)

Heavy Solution for Memory Problem:
1.Only install a single apps or Game to a Memory card (So keeping all yours old MMC finally useful to this tips)
2.Remove all java app or game that store on Phone Memory.(empty the C:\System\Midp folder)
3.Remove all Game save file from C:\System\Apps\***(Only when you are not continue playing those game anymore)
4.Remove all incoming message form both Phone memory or Card memory.
5.Backup up all MMC data & do a Full Dos Format or use Disk manager (or the program posted below) /Only FAT16 are allow.
6.Before Loading the Game data back to MMC , do a Virus Scan to Clean up unwanted or virus infected "exe" file (Recomand " Avast Anti-virus 4.7" or latest)
7.Do full Phone Format with "Stools")
8.Remove add on or modification Font.

Next Section will give you a tips about smoonthness video & audio playback.
1. for SmartMovie user Only Install ver 3.13 or 3.21
2.Replace the Video codec come with 3.21 and load the old codec to (C:\System\Codecs) The package posted below...
3.Only Use (6600)176x208 resulotion and 80kbps Audio bitrate (Keep 44100Hz sampling rate) & 112kbps for Video bitrate to convert any Video clips. If you use others convertor for convertion Please set to 12.5fps.
3.To sovle the Audio & video un-sync problem ,You can use "imToo3pg" to convert Video clip to(set Avi foemat)Avi file and then use SM convertor to convert to Xvid format.
4,For best sound quality output ,Do not rise the volume more then 150% (Acording to original Clip audio loudness level) Boost too much. Sound quality become "shit"!

Patch Yours Phone !!!
To me Most of the N-gage games need a Patch ,"King of the Fighter" for example And Nokia has posted a Patch to help improve Stablebility & performance for All S60 Phone ! (File Posted Below)Don't know It's developers can't work together with the real hardware or what ,So U need to download some patch ....

N-Gage Game Do not run anymore!!?
This Things happen when you replace files in-side Libs or Programs folder, Or some others 3rd party program Conflict with NG games system files. (Those files are the "driver" files for the NG games/or apps) What would you do ?
1. Don't mix all program in one MMC , install those program in anothers MMC
2. Do not replcae Large number of libs files with old game. (this happen when you playing old n-gage game . new game files will stop runing or showing error message.
3.Always Backup yours libs folder ! (especially when you install something)

If yours MMC show alots of error message when a new program installed , time to backup yours valueble Files and format the MMC . Then Copy the Apps folder(all files inside) 1st and testing to see which program do not run anymore . Just reinstall them (For NG game: loadback the working Libs folder and testing all the game) And please remember to patch it (if the game not stable and always crash)

Another best option are...Always install fresh game files/form zip or rar compress files (when Libs or program replace still showing error)

Ps: And remember DO NOT JUST REPLACE THE WHOLE FOLDER ,ADD NEW FILES TO THE FOLDER ONLY!!!!
APPLY THE LIBS FILES THAT I POSTED BELOW ,ONLY WHEN YOURS LIBS TOTALLY SCREW UP AND OTHER WAY TO MAKE IT WORKS ,DO NOT USE THIS LIBS FILES TO OTHER NOKIA PHONE MODEL .THOSE FILES ARE FOR N_GAGE/QD ONLY!!!

Fix Yours Corrupted MMC ...
Don't Panic ! It can be fix , All you need is a Windows XP (Sp2) With a little help of "MMC Medic" (By J2k) from n-gage-help.com Wrote a Nice program to fix yours MMC Card for you (off course U need a card reader) File:MMC.zip (check 2nd reply)
1.insert yours Corrupted MMC
2.Run MMC Medic (It automatically detect which MMC drive)
3.choose the Correct .M.byte number for the MMC (Start Formatting,including boot sector)ALL DONE & YOURS MMC WORKING AGIAN !

i just wanted to thank u for the great analysis u have done for n-gage qd.Itz really good.And i wanted to know the func. of formatter and patch....tell me how to use the codes of the icon wizard u have posted.

The farmatter is a fully "DOS" formater to give a correct FAT16 formating File system for all the Symbain OS phone Storage device . (you can follow the instruction on the Txt file)
The nokia (Posted on nokia website) patch Works for all nokia phone (Like the 6600, 6630/80 etc)

about the Icon creator thing , Because I can't put direct link here , if you like it . just google it and look for icon wizard the english patch is locate in symbian-freak web site .

You need some picture editing program like Photoshop or paintshop (even just Windows "paint" will do )

i'm using ngage classic, i accidentally formated my memory card using the usb cable. now my pc won't read the fone anymore. i reformated and flashed the fone already but still no results
is there any solution to this?

Find a symbain software call "Stools" , it has a "format Phone" option to do complete formating for you .(check the nokia N-gage pc suite phone software and install those sis file )

!.Uninstall some 3rd party screen saver (Example:WOwScreen)and un-use Application . (still show error ? )
2.Download Avast Anti-virus (Home edition) search all *.exe file in the MMC card and do a virus scan with all the exe files . and use "*#7370# to reset yours phone (without mmc )

Tripple ngage classic or qd battery life just install this nlights app. Use app to turn key lights off and reduse screen lights by 50% and vwuala. This app controls the lights and vibrator of the phone. :) enjoy plz remember to say thanks. Nlights, lights manager = battery saver and Best lock = best screen saver app for ngage.
