(3) If I create directories e.g. e:\myVoices\ and places other voices there it will not work?

(3) - No it won't, all the voice files need to be in a folder named ' voices '

Any more questions post below, but give a bit more info - such as what you are running your tomtom on, what version it is & where you downloaded it from - as some only need copying to the memory card, others need to be installed & a crack applied.

I am trying to install tom tom 5.202 which I downloaded here to a N70. When I try too open it it asks me to download a voice and map how do I get around this. I have downloaded a voice and a map where do I install them. Also does the app have to be installed on the Phone or the MC.

There's a thread in this section on how a few others have installed 5.202 (I still haven't installed in on my phone).
Everything needs to be put onto your mmc, not the phone - the map folder should be in the root of the memory card, and the voices files go into a folder named ' voices ' - also in the root of the mmc.
If you are still having problems with it get a copy of ' TomTom Mobile 5.20 inc latest v6 UK map ' also posted in this section - this just needs copying to your memory card, and then run the 5.202 upgrade.

Thanks for replies. I was trying to install v. 5.202 of TTM.

Installed fine, but the "Voices" were not (and are still not) working... may uninstall, downgrade, and then run it as an upgrade

OK let us know how you get on with it. With the voices you should have a dataXX.vif & dataXX.chk file & if its a celebrity voice a dataXX.bmp file (XX = a number - eg 04, 05), and as I said earlier they all need to be in a folder named ' voices '.
