I don't reaaly know what you want, but if you just want to back up your SMS from your N72 to your PC, PC suite will be OK:
After installing PC Suite, go to My Computer --> choose your N72 --> go to Message sectio, then choose all of them & copy to your PC --> Done.

Use a third party software (preferably Cellphone Manager), look for it in one the threads here. And if you don't wanna use a cable, you're going to need a bluetooth dongle. You can buy one in one of your local PC or mobile phone shops (use either a Microsoft or WidComm).

But first, check out that thread for Cellphone Manager, it will give you tips on how to install and how to make it work using bluetooth, BEFORE you buy the Bluetooth dongle.
