Mizuu 9th July 2006, 19:25 Metal Slash Pinball!!
http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/5361/metalsmashpinball5fi.gif
Review by Gamespot:
Pinball is the sort of game that makes sense on the mobile platform, but oftentimes mobile games don't run fast enough to make something like a pinball game work. Metal Smash Pinball offers good gameplay speed and solid pinball action, though some of the excitement is offset by a lack of variety.
In Metal Smash Pinball, you're attempting to bust up robots from within. Luckily, the insides of these robots look a lot like pinball tables. The robot innards are a multistaged table, with each area representing a different body part, such as the legs, torso, head, or arms. Each section has things you can hit the ball into that further that body piece's destruction. When you destroy all of the limbs and the torso, a gateway to the head opens up, where the ball splits apart and forms into a little battle platform, firing lasers up at a floating boss creature. When the boss is destroyed, you move on to the next robot, repeating the process over again, only with a slight difficulty increase. The pinball action makes a great first impression, as the speed is right and the controls are responsive, but the table isn't exciting or varied enough to keep you interested for long. By the time you've blown up your second or third robot, you'll probably be looking to move on.
The game's sound is very minimal, and occasionally it cuts out entirely, forcing you to restart the game to get the sound back. The graphics, however, are pretty sharp. As you do damage to the robot's insides, you'll see cool-looking electrical sparks and stuff filling the table. And you'll get to see the robot you're dismantling via a neat little vector-graphics sequence. But again, the smooth speed is what sells the entire game.
Overall, Metal Smash Pinball is relatively cool, but the fun doesn't last very long. If you're looking for a quick distraction for your mobile phone, this game does exactly that. But if you're after some lasting value, you should probably look elsewhere.

Mizuu 13th July 2006, 15:50 Block Breaker Deluxe!!!!
http://www.gameloft.com/common/products/1/default/web/slideshows/176/slideshow.gif
Block Breaker Deluxe is different from the traditional wall breaker games thanks to its fun and original atmosphere and a catchy storyline. Apart from a gallery of strong characters, the well-crafted graphics provide distinctive settings of jet set night-life: cool bar, discotheque, beach restaurant, casino... not forgetting the billionaire's yacht and some hidden locations you might just discover! New challenges and other inventions make this great arcade classic even more attractive and fascinating: obstacles of every kind, special bricks, multiple bonuses, secret weapons, paddle size and ball speed that change during the game, etc. Get ready to meet the challenge and get through the numerous levels offered by Block Breaker Deluxe, and be prepared for the frenzy of the most breathtaking wall breaker games!
A stunning revival of a genre and fantastic eighties-hype atmosphere from the graphics.
Breakneck games assured thanks to remarkably quick animation and innovative gameplay.
Gripping and original storyline, tough opponents.
The best mobile game of its type : 50 levels, 7 locations, 5 bosses, 11 types of brick and 14 power-ups!
Review by Gamespot:
It may be nothing more than a repackaged Arkanoid, but it plays well and makes for a great mobile game.
The block breaking game may have been created when Breakout was released back in 1976, but most modern block breaking games instead take a page from the book of Taito's 1986 arcade game, Arkanoid. Taito's game starts with the same basic concept as Breakout--you control a flat paddle at the bottom of the screen and you must use it to hit a ball up at a series of blocks until you've hit them all. But Arkanoid also adds power-ups to the mix. Items that cause your paddle to get longer, items that split the ball into three balls, and even an item that lets you fire lasers at the bricks are just some of the things that Taito brought to the table. Since that time, most games in the genre tend to follow the Arkanoid formula pretty closely. Gameloft's newest Breakout-style game, Block Breaker Deluxe, delivers a decidedly Arkanoid-like experience while wrapping a story mode around the more traditional block busting proceedings. The resulting game is a great fit for mobile phones.
Block Breaker Deluxe is broken into areas, each of which is a bustling night club, where Block Breaker is the entertainment of choice. It is the game world's competitive sport, its proving-ground. In order to advance in Block Breaker, you'll have to impress each of the game's attractive club owners by collecting gifts that suit her particular tastes. These gifts are found hidden behind blocks within the game's many levels. For example, one of the club owners is a high-maintenance socialite who happens to bear more than a passing resemblance to Jessica Rabbit. In order to win her support, you'll have to shower her with expensive sundries, such as pearls and mink coats. If you impress these well-connected individuals, they will help you advance to new areas. At one point, you'll have to get one word of a passcode from each club owner, so that you may gain entrance to a highly exclusive Block Breaker tournament.
Though it may take after Breakout and Arkanoid in a few different ways, Block Breaker Deluxe also adds some new levels of complexity. Often, you will have to hit particular blocks to unlock parts of a level. There are power-ups to make your paddle larger, smaller, magnetic, invisible, and to make it capable of shooting laser beams. There are collectibles that make your ball faster, slower, and more powerful. There's even one that makes your ball act like a yo-yo, flying back to your paddle every time you press the 5 key. This adds an interesting strategic element, as balls yo-yoed back are capable of destroying any block, even the nigh-indestructible silver ones that become increasingly prevalent as you progress through the game. The game even features boss battles.
Players will find that particular combinations of power-ups are especially potent, such as the marriage of the multiball generator (which spawns two balls in addition to the regular one) with the magnetic paddle power-up. That combo will let you magnetically store one of the balls on your paddle--almost like an extra life--while you knock around the other two. Speaking of extra lives, you'll start the game with ten of them. If you run out of lives, you can sacrifice $200,000 of your club competition winnings to replenish them. You might find yourself doing this on the same few levels; Block Breaker's difficulty can be somewhat unbalanced. Certain stages, especially some of the boss battles, take forever to clear, while other ones are a breeze. You rarely know what kind of challenge you're in for.
Block Breaker's presentation is appropriately excellent. Its graphics are colorful and chug along at a healthy clip. The game's anime-inspired club owners are well drawn, and they pack a lot of character. The game's sound, while relatively simple, is on par with that of most Java games, both in fidelity and variety. The opening of each round is marked by a few measures of calypso music. Crisp sound effects accompany the rest of the gameplay. Music during play is woefully absent, however. It would have been nice to hear some of the tunes the club members are apparently enjoying in the background; they're certainly not jumping around to the beeps and bops of Block Breaker.
The bottom line is that Block Breaker Deluxe is a truly excellent game that, as time has proven, packs lasting appeal. It may be nothing more than a repackaged Arkanoid, but it plays well and makes for a great mobile game. The story mode is innovative and the play is wonderfully chaotic.

How to play
The goal of Reef Girls 3-D Pinball is to earn the highest possible score by a combination of hitting targets with the ball, and completing the game’s levels and bonus events. Completing the game’s levels is the most straightforward way to earn large amounts of points, but the skilled player who gains access to bonus events will reap a greater reward. At the end of the game, the player can save his/her score to the local score table.

Mizuu 14th July 2006, 19:13 Ice Cream Empire!!
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/9664/bocconiice8rv.gif
Review by Gamespot:
Milan's Bocconi University has launched a management simulation for mobile phones based around running an ice cream stand. It aims to promote entrepreneurial skills by requiring users to learn about balance sheets, competition, and business basics such as demand and supply.
The game, which is set in Milan, has three basic stages: choosing the location of the stand and setting it up with staff and goods; watching customers react to the stand as it is set up; and finally, examining the financial results of the day and making strategic changes as a result. Players can send in their results to an Ice Cream Stock Exchange to see how well they fare against others.
To play, gamers must register at the game's Web site and wait for a download text. There is no cost other than the mobile operator's charge for downloading.
"With ICE we want to have a first, informal and amusing contact with young European people feeling a call to economic and entrepreneurial activity," said Angelo Provasoli, Bocconi University rector.

Mizuu 22nd July 2006, 15:10 Final Fight!!
http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/1663/finalfightgt4.jpg
Review by modojo.com:
As some people who play mobile games might know, beat 'em up games on mobile can be very, very bad- poor game mechanics, animation, a complete lack of story and a short lifespan are unfortunately all too common. Beat 'em ups on mobile are not to be confused with fighting games, which are often much better (games like Karma Fighter, for instance.). Beat 'em ups are walk n' fight games, often enabling you to pick up items, health and other useful items. Up until now, most mobile beat 'em up games has been a pretty big disappointment. The mobile adaptation of Final Fight is a refreshing change, and does well to mimic the original game, but at the end of the day doesn't offer anything special.
Final Fight first appeared in arcades way back in 1989, 2 years after the very first Street Fighter. It was a huge success, inspiring 2 sequels on arcade alone and several ports on handhelds and consoles, including a recent sequel I'd rather not talk about. The mobile version is based on the first game, which was the best, in my opinion. It had you cleaning up the streets of Metro City as Haggar, Guy or Cody, after Haggar's daughter (and Cody's girlfriend), Jessica, was kidnapped by a menacing gang called Mad Gear (80's names...), who are threatening to take over the city. Haggar, being an ex-wrestler and mayor of Metro city (coolest mayor I've ever seen), decides to take the matter into his own hands, with the help of Cody, an experienced street fighter, and Guy, a martial arts specialist(and also a playable character in later Street Fighters). The arcade version featured lethal combos, weapons to pick up, power ups and 2-player co-op play. The mobile version doesn't differ all that much.
For example, all the original levels, bosses, moves and characters have survived the transition, preserving the game's nostalgic quality - Haggar can still do the pile driver, Cody still does the cyclone kick, and Guy still unleashes the mighty bushin whirlwind kick- all by simply pressing the 0 key. In addition, you still have all 6 rounds to fight through, from the slums to the up town area. All the original bosses feature in the game, including Sodom from Street Fighter, making a cameo appearance as a senior member of Mad Gear. The original weapons and power-ups, including swords and roast chickens, have made it to mobile, too. Most of the original enemies are available for you to beat up- some had to be scaled down, so may look a bit different. A vaguely recognisable bit of the original soundtrack has also been packed into the port. The original graphics have been maintained, thankfully, although they do look extremely shabby - more like cut-outs than sprites.
One good thing about Final Fight Mobile is that combos and special attacks are now much easier to carry out. A few presses of the 5 key will trigger an ordinary combo, while the 7 key releases a flying kick for any character. This means it's easier to knock those vagrants out, creating a better playing experience. You can also pick up various weapons, ranging from knives to pipes to swords, by using key 5, which is always fun. You'll also find that the action is, most of the time, quite frantic - there'll always be a lot of enemies around, which means you'll have kick and punch faster to avoid being hit by the more annoying foes (like the knife throwers... ugh) and bosses. The game is also quite long- each of the 6 rounds consists of 3 levels, ending with a boss.
Now onto the bad. The first thing you'll notice about the game is that the story is never explained in any shape or form (which is why I explained it earlier), which can be annoying for people who haven't played other versions of the game. I mean, how are you supposed to know what's going on if you haven't played it before? Hmph. I also think a lot of people will be disappointed with the graphics and animation- as mentioned before, the graphics are reminiscent of the arcade version, only scaled down to the point that the character and background detail takes quite a beating. The animation is also far from smooth, giving the game quite a rushed appearance. New tunes have been implemented for this version of Final Fight (phones probably couldn't take the original score), which do sound very retro but just aren't the same.
So, the main question here would be "do you want to play it?". My answer to that would be yes, for a limited time- after a while, it does get somewhat boring, and some of the boss fights can be highly unbalanced (especially the final one). It does, however, do well to stay to its roots for a mobile game.

Review by midlet-review:
3D Autobahn Raser (which i'm quite sure translates as racer) is the latest in a long line of 3D racers for mobiles. Autobahns, or German motor highways, don't have a speed limit, and although 3D Autobahn Raser certainly looks amazing, it doesn't quite give the impression of relentless speed.
The way the game plays isn't groundbreaking, in any way at all. It's a racing game, and what you see is what you get. I liked the system of buying upgrades, taking a leaf out of Need for Speed Underground's system where you own a car and through collecting euros scattered throughout the courses and by winning races, you can upgrade your car. Forget gold rims and in car DVD players, I'm talking about basic upgrades like steering and acceleration. It's still nice though to be able to work towards making your car better to drive.
The steering isn't really as precise as it should be, which is hard to ask for when you're playing on a joystick-less mobile phone. Still though, the turning system takes a lot of getting used to and turning is harder than it should be; you will find yourself crashing often even after much practice.
Vaclav Jakubek was in charge of the graphics, and I take my hat off to him. This is his show, and he really made the graphics work. 3D Autobahn Raser looks just awesome, and will be the thing that people remember about this game. The back of your car blinks red when braking, the scenery is spectacular, and this game is at the very top of mobile games graphically. I've seen Playstation games that look worse than this! Admittedly, PSOne games, but that's still impressive nonetheless.
The sound is good technically, in full polyphony with different tunes. However, I think a better selection of songs would be in order. They don't really suit the action that's happening on-screen, and served more as an annoyance than a benefit.
The game does slow down a little bit when the action gets heavy, but generally it can be said that it plays smoothly and fluidly. That being said, it isn't actually that fast. I like swerving quickly around the corners and accelerating past competitors at breakneck speed. Instead, the game just feels slow, especially when you crash and are forced to continue at a snails pace and slowly get your speed back up.
3D Autobahn Raser is a fun racer that doesn't try anything different, and isn't outstanding as a racing game. As a great looking one, it does the job perfectly, but a few flaws creep in that hamper the overall product. Recommended, if only for looks.

Review by midlet-review:
It seems like the Bomberman label is popping up on everything lately; bomberman kart, bomberman puzzle, bomberman pinball, bomberman panic……there’ll probably be a bomberman washing machines next, just you wait. So, Bomberman’s had a good run so far on the small(est) screen, but has never ventured anywhere beyond his good old two dimensions. Until now.
3D bomberman is basically a revamped version of the original Bomberman mobile and the later released Super Bomberman. As a result, the concept (and context) is more or less the same as before, only with some welcome additions-and some minor alterations, for example, instead of the aim being to get the key to open the door to the next level, you now have to blow up all the enemies to succeed. You’ll also notice that Bomberman himself, and indeed everything else, have grown a bit bigger to fit in with the new 3D environment.
If you haven’t gathered yet from the conspicuous title and what’s been said already, Bomberman 3D is a “3D” game, which means an instant jump in the standard of graphics from the last two games (I’m not counting the other mobile games which aren’t purely “Bomberman”). Unfortunately, frame rate is quite often still a problem in 3D mobile games, but not, it seems, with this game- it runs quite smoothly, with little pauses or problems, even while it’s showing you an overview of the entailing level. Kilobytes are also saved by just the terrain being in 3D- the rest of the environment, including Bomberman and the enemies, are still in 2D. The result is it looks like scaled down version of the Bomberman announced for PSP at this year’s E3- only Bomberman’s looking a bit pixelated, maybe on the grainy side. The sound, contrary to the graphics, hasn’t really changed a lot from previous mobile instalments- just short polyphonics beeps and music throughout the game, except for bomb blasts. As the 2D characters have to move around a 3D world, the animation is a bit dodgy- but works, to some extent. The game’s also pretty colourful, following in the footsteps of its 2D predecessors.
The bomberman mobile games have always been about getting a “quick fix”- blowing up a few fiends for a minute on the train, for example. It was always because the levels were short, simple but still sweet- giving you small maps to play, while simultaneously packing a reasonable challenge into it. 3D Bomberman does well to keep this spirit close during the transition into the third dimension. There are as many levels as you’d expect in a typical Bomberman game, while the 3D surroundings have allowed for some new gameplay elements-things like a new jumping ability, and springboards scattered around the level to elevate you around the jagged terrains. All the classic powerups are still here, while the bomb blast radius is still understandable. Lastly, the ever-famous VS mode introduced in Super Bomberman has been salvaged- and it’s still fun, I’m glad to report.
So, 3D Bomberman is good if you want to see the little guy in a new perspective, or are an avid Bomberman fan, you should give it a go.

Mizuu 9th August 2006, 16:42 3D Pool - Urban Hustle
http://www.gamemobile.co.uk/images/3DPoolUH2.gifhttp://www.gamemobile.co.uk/images/3DPoolUH_1.gifhttp://www.gamemobile.co.uk/images/3DPoolUHSplash.gif
Review by IGN:
Urban Hustle offers multiple play modes, such as Quick Play, which just lets you get started on a game. There are three types of pool in Urban Hustle: UK 8 ball, US 8 ball, and US 9 ball. The Single Player mode dumps you into the tournament scene, where you go from pool hall to pool hall, challenging a series of hustlers and entering trick shot contests. This mode is where players will find the majority of Urban Hustle's "meat." There are literally dozens of matches to play across the various match types, and the more you win, the more money you earn. Conversely, if you lose a match, your pocketbook takes a hit. The game also includes a pass-the-phone two-player game.
Ball physics either make or break a pool game, and Urban Hustle clears this hurdle with no problems. Lining up shots feels right, thanks to simple controls and cooperative camera angles (you can go 3D or use a top-down camera), and when you do finally let 'er go, the balls appear to behave appropriately. You can put English on your shots to pull off some tricky plays, adjust the power, and swivel all around the table to find that perfect shot. The only time constraint is your battery life.
Urban Hustle definitely looks better than its predecessor. The camera in 3D mode is certainly smoother, and that means a lot to anybody that tried out the original. The game is more colorful, too, and the story mode offers up some character portraits and different locales.
Closing Comments
Urban Hustle is more than just a re-skinning of the original 3D Pool. The new single player story mode gives the game more depth, and thusly, more value. The improvement on the camera control and 3D is also quite welcome, as is just the general assurance that these balls are behaving as balls should. (Geometrically, pervert.) if you're looking for a solid mobile pool game, Urban Hustle is a pretty good download.

For centuries, the world of Erathia has been laid waste by a war between humans and demons. To crown it all, the king is being held prisoner by the demon armies. The hero, Ewan, is sent to rescue him by a mysterious nobleman. His quest results in many encounters: with an elf archer, a captain of mercenaries, and so on. But watch out for the traps set by the monsters who sow the seeds of chaos! Caution is also a weapon when you’re up against these hostile environments. You play the role of Ewan in this magnificent epic, set in the heart of the world of Erathia. Many of the characters you encounter will accompany you on your journey, and you can direct them in order to overcome certain obstacles successfully. Some of these characters will be loyal allies, while others won’t think twice about joining the already crowded ranks of the demons! Moving through 15 levels, you’ll have to alternate between phases that call for skillful dexterity and periods of reflection. You must find keys and solve riddles to open the doors to passages that are increasingly difficult to access. When land routes are impassable, don’t hesitate to use your rope to hang on to the rings that hang a few meters above the danger. And don’t forget the increasingly powerful spells that you’ll learn to master and cast in turn. They are awesome supplements to your sword’s potential which, used at full power, is a formidable force. The colorful, detailed graphics of the different universes are admirably combined with visual effects, each of which is specific to a particular spell or weapon, making every combat phase even more thrilling! -A tale that’s jam-packed with exciting events, in the world of Erathia. -Astounding isometric 3D graphics, and superb visual effects! -A level of interaction that’s unprecedented on mobile phones: spells, weapons, -puzzles … -15 levels, alternating between mountains, volcanoes and ice fields - Enter the Might & Magic connection to chat on your mobile

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h307/peeteetoy/screenshot.jpg
Tony Hawk, one of the early mainstream franchises that graced the mobile scene, is at it again with Tony Hawks American Wasteland. The term American Wasteland appears to refer to Los Angeles as this is where the game takes place with players assuming the persona of an up and coming skater who has recently arrived in California. You can compete between three levels: Hollywood, Santa Monica and Skate Ranch.
The controls themselves are not hard to grasp. You start off with only one button to start an ollie and the direction buttons to control your on screen movement. Like most skating games since the invention of SSX and JSRF, your main goal is to start off with a trick and then continue to string them together before you fall off a railing or abort your mid-air sequence with a landing on a grassy knoll. As you progress through the game by racking up the requisite amount of points, youll unlock new tricks that will use the other numbers on your cell phone.

Review from Mobile GameFAQS
http://img.pic2us.com/im/mysterycastle2_6pic.gif
Where did I leave the key to the front door?
Mystery Castle is one of an increasing number of puzzle games set in a castle/dungeon. The aim is to get all the amulets from inside the castle. As in the Scooby Doo games, the castle is set up of a number of rooms that you have to complete in turn.
The graphics are not bad. There is a kind of 3D effect going on but its not isometric; overall it doesn't matter too much. In some of the later levels you have to push a number of boxes around and these do look pretty poor in this '3D' view. Other than that the sprites and the background are drawn well and there is a cute cartoony feel to the game.
Not much to say about the sound. There's a nice little tune when you complete a level but nothing during the game. But hey, at least it allows you to concentrate on the levels. The controls are straight forward, simply use the D-pad to move in the desired direction.
The game starts off at an easy pace. You should soon be whizzing through the first few levels. Don't forget to chat to the green wizard for some handy hints. After a few levels you will no doubt start feeling quite cocky. It wont be long before you realise your IQ is not that of a genius. The game gets quite hard, quite quickly.
Each room has its own set of puzzles. These range from locked doors that are opened by collecting corresponding spell books to dodging evil knights. All in all there is a good mix of puzzles and is overall fun to play.
A number of rooms are inaccessible until you have collected a set number of amulets. This does force you play the game in a fairly rigid order. If you find yourself stuck on a level then I'm afraid you are going to have to figure it out before you can try another level.
Mystery Castle is much more of a pure logic game than Scooby Doo and should appeal to older puzzle maniacs.
Note: no need to rename, just unzip it.

supplied by Paradisezone(Spanish site), but game is full English retail version from Orange
This is the classic Sega game, its super smooth on the K750, so it should be fine for W800/W810 too. The publishers of the game (Ifone/Glu mobile), in my opinion, have made a big mistake by letting players choose all levels from the start, but otherwise this is old skool sonic, complete with the original music.
Enjoy

Start out with the open run to refine your moves with the players, competition and court of your choice or if you're in a hurry, get a quick game in with the instant run. You can adjust your teammates and opponents to take advantage of each player's unique skill set. Play on one of three courts: Rival Park, TNT Park or The Dungeon. When you think your game is good enough, take your skills to the And 1 Challenge where you'll battle the best, most legendary ballers in the world. Figure out your opponent's strengths, memorize their moves and create some of your own. You'll be well on your way to being king of the court!
Put points on the board with reverse dunks and alley oops, embarrass your opponent by bouncing the ball of his head, or defend with a bone crushing block – this game has so much intensity that you'll start to believe you really are competing for the coveted And 1 contract! Great plays are rewarded with special effects like ice-breakers and flames... and you know it is coming when the screen turns blue because you are in the zone! Just when you thought it was safe to leave the office, minesweeper, that addictive time-guzzler loved and loathed by wage-slaves everywhere, is coming to your mobile.
Brought to handsets by Digital Chocolate, the chaps behind classics like Tower Bloxx, Absolute Minesweeper sees you using logic to clear a screen of squares of mines, without being blown to smithereens by clicking on one of the hidden bombs.
As well as a purist's classic mode, Digital Chocolate has made things more arcadey with an 'Absolute' mode, which sees you
uncovering bonus items such as time freezes and crystal balls.
Multiple difficulty levels, four different skins, and various customizable features are promised, and you can also post your high scores to a community board.
Let's face it, it's still minesweeper, but short of actually sending you out into the channel against real floating bombs, it's hard to see how the game could be made more exciting.
It's familiar, famous, and no doubt will ensnaring a new generation of minor minesweepers when it hits the portals any moment now.

Review by pocket-link:
02 December 2004 - Following an Xbox and PlayStation 2 launch, Crash Bandicoot has finally found himself on the mobile phone. The premise and idea is very compelling; bring one of the heroes of the PlayStation to the phone so you can play your favourite character when out and about.
In reality however the game doesn't offer the same compelling features, its not that the moves aren't there or the veiled attempt at 3D graphics, merely that it's almost impossible to control. Not only do you have to control moving forward and sideways, but also jumping, spinning and killing the bad guys. On a two handed joystick this is child's play, however across a mobile phone keypad not so.
Get past the controls and the game offers a number of levels, which unfortunately you can only access in one sitting. Complete a level and you won't be able to return back to it unless you do the first level again. While it's early days still for the mobile game it would be nice if you could once completed go straight back to that level to carry on the quest.
VERDICT Crash Bandicoot Twinsanity brings all the right elements to a mobile phone game, yet in our mind fails to execute them effectively. Controls could have been easier. Even though the graphics are 3D, they could have been a better compared to other efforts out there.

Movement
Select and move units by pressing 5 and then pressing 5 again on the selected destination square. A unit can move and attack once per turn. The flashing white border marks the movement range of a unit. A unit's range is determined by its type and the terrain it is on.
Different types of terrain affect a unit's ability to move, attack and defend. For example, mountains add defence points but slow units down. When you move the cursor these terrain features appear at the bottom of the screen.
