I assume you have tried just cleaning the lense before you progressed to the harder stuff?

My friend there is another way to prevent this from happening try using DVD idle pro...

DVDIdle helps you to extend the lifetime of your DVD drive. By using the Smart Read-ahead Cache, DVDIdle saves DVD data which will be played soon onto the hard disk cache or RAM cache, and then feeds it to DVD player. This allows the DVD drive to rest. For example: a 6X-speed DVD drive will only work for 15 minutes when you are watching a 90 minutes DVD movie... Hope it will helps... PM me if you want the software...

I am having WRITE problems with my CD-RW/DVD ROM drive in my laptop. I Burn CDs with Nero, and I verify written data all the time. But in the verification process I get read error at sector xxxxxxx. Anyone knows how to solve this problem.

Should I clean the lens? If so with what... Any suggestions

if it isnt detecting any cd.....i guess the lense is spoilt...
the only way out is to replace the lense..
a bit expensive....but thats ur only option!

there is now way to repair a cd/dvd rom, if a part is broken, you should replace it..
what you can do is just to clean the lens or readjusting it using the screws under the lens.. turn the screw to left or right to readjust how the lens read.. well its trial n error.. i dunno the excact way to do this.. :)

CD Rom has 1 screw under the lens setting can be done if u adjust just rotating tha screw left or right...
if it does not detect any cd at all then try to replace the lense cable

I tried also to install a CD ROM and unfortunately same message appears! "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The Driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"

Do you think i deleted a component or something for a specific driver required for this device? Is this a software problem or device problem?

Thanks for all your advice guys...

I think it is a device problem
better to check on to other PC

mainly due to motherboard problem. First try to update bios for the motherboard. If the problem still exist, then get your motherboard warranty.
