Thanksyou have to have a N80 firmeare veresion that supports double-byte language. If not, I don't think you can install Chinese fonts to it. This is not the same as changing English to German.
n66007610 12th August 2006, 14:45 Thanks for your reply chimpanzee, could you please tell me how to check whether i have a N80 that support double-byte language.
chimpanzee 12th August 2006, 19:10 Actually it is quite simple to check. Just go to Tools/Settings/Phone/General/Phone Language and see. Mine has English and simp. Chinese.
Which country did you get your phone from? I got it in China. I believe if you get the phone in Singapore, it will also be the same. For Hong Kong and Taiwan, it will be convertional Chinese.
If your phone does not even support any Chinese language, that means the firmware for double-byte language is not there. Of course, there are also Janpanese and Korean language which are also double-byte.
GaMbLeR 89 13th August 2006, 14:23 is there a way to install traditonal chinese into my phone which already have simplified chinese?

gambler89, it shd be possible
i remembered in the past, singapore models had both traditional and simplified chinese
i dun understand why since we dun have traditional chinese support here anymore, they still print the chinese keystrokes on the keypad since we dun need them for simplified chinese input
chimpanzee 14th August 2006, 18:09 is there a way to install traditonal chinese into my phone which already have simplified chinese?I think so. The only thing is you will need to find the appropriate simplify Chinese font file and replace it with the conventional Chinese font file. Not sure if they are readily available for you to download as these files should come inside your phone.
acrisius 17th August 2006, 20:58 firstly i bought Nokia 3250..theres no chinese too..So i take it to the place where i buy and call them to update firmware to chinese words..
chimpanzee 18th August 2006, 02:51 That is the sure way to get Chinese language on the phone. However, not all Nokia Customer Centres (NCCs) are willing to do that for you. e.g. I remembered I was trying to buy the 6600 phone from Singapore 3 years ago but the version they sell in Singapore does not have Chinese languauge, only English, Malaysia and Indonesia. I went to check with NCC but they told me they do not support Chinese on 6600 and therefore do not have the Chinese Firmware with them in Singapore.

bchliu 21st October 2006, 03:08 You need to change your Firmware to APAC and this will allow you to do Chinese. There is currently no other way other than this to display or use Chinese otherwise.
You cannot do this via the Internet Update - it will only work if you use the hacked way to force the APAC firmware on.

wat do u mean when u say "it will only work if you use the hacked way to force the APAC firmware on" is it "healthy" for the fone?? or will it corrupt the fone after a period of time?? and also.. in order to install the firmware... do i nid any special hardware... for example... pheonix? etc etc...
bchliu 23rd October 2006, 16:49 Phoenix allows you to select any RM92 (N80) ROM to update your phone. you can put on RM92-11 (Singapore/Malaysia, Simplified) or RM92-13 (Hong Kong, Traditional & Simplifed). You obviously need a hacked Phoenix without the security dongle to get it working however.. There is a small chance you may screw up the phone (Brick) however..
kleine 26th October 2006, 16:27 may i know where i can get the RM92-11 from the net?
oneline 8th October 2009, 23:03 u can try search throught forum: font router
(anyway this is an old thread and not answered). So I answered it :D
