View Full Version : [HELP] My hard disk have a bad sector

My hard disk is 8 GB. I just format my com and now i realize that actually my hardisk have lost abou 7 GB , WHEN I install Partition Magic , it shows 3 Partition :

-1st : [c:] - 20 GB TYPE "NTFS"
-2nd : [d:] - 48 GB TYPE "FAT32"
-3rd : [no letter} - 7 GB TYPE "TYPE77"

when i try to format the third one it shows error so now i cant use those 7 GB

if anyone knows how to deal with it... pls help me... I Want to use those 7 GB. ACtually i think those are the hard disk of my old broken windows XP

you mean you have 2 hardisk inside your pc right? Better to delete all the partition and format it using the same format, recommended ntfs. BR.

Try not to use that bad sector because your data will corrupt.

So I recommend to make a new partition that contains the bad sector and hidden that new drive, Or use HDD regenerator to hide that bad track.

if its seagate, use sea tools- a s/w available at their site 4 bad sector reallocation...

Use something like seagate seatools, which is available from the seagate website :) to run disk diagnostics.

have u tried to format with /c parameter???
eg. C:\format E: /c

/c parameter can be used to recheck the sectors which previously marked as bad...

the best way is try low level format .. maybe can help repair bad sector..
after low level .. then reformat using partiition magic.

I hate bad sectors...if you can't fix that with seatools, you better start backing up your important files and get a new one, as it won't last long and you will experience a regular freezing on that hdd.
