ikdo 24th September 2006, 07:26 People,

Thanxxxxxxxx ikdo
bevantjf 4th October 2006, 21:11 Am successfully running this TT Nav 6.01 on my XDA Mini s. One problem: when traffic updates is enabled and Tomtom dials my gprs network to download traffic info it does not disconnect afterwards but leaves connection on - expensive! Does anyone know a way round or a fix for this?
hihi123 5th October 2006, 00:39 Hi bevantjf
Can you run traffic updates with a non official version of TT6?
How does it work? You need an account at tomtom.com or not?
Please help me with a few instructions.
Thank you!

Neelix,
My version of TT6 was just recently downloaded from this site. Will this update be a newer version that the one that came with the TT6 version i just downloaded - 2-3 days back?

More than likely the same,as TT do not update postcodes on a frequent basis.
Check the size of the two files, the bigger one must have more info.
Just measure the size of the .postal file, ignore the .ver file.
My file has an unpacked size of 9.60MB, released 10 Jan 2006.

Is this the latest postcode file as this is a huge file - much bigger than Neelix's one and much bigger than the one i currently have. Should this be placed in the Zip folder for each map?
KenBruce 8th October 2006, 17:34 Latest as far as I know.
They should go in the zip folder which is in the card root.

Hi Ken,
Should i replace the existing file then or just add in as another file in the Zip folder?
Also, according to the set up process it does not show the Nokia N80 - but does show the N90. If i select N90 will it work on my phone?
Also, is this the 7 digit post code or just the normal 3 digit?
KenBruce 8th October 2006, 22:23 Download the exe file to your computer and then run it.
The TomTom installation prog will then run and offer to install to the GO, The ONE, The RIDER or the MOBILE. I think the actuall zip file is the same for all but just to be safe use N90 but install it to a file on your computer. Look at the installation and you will see a folder called zip among the others. Connect you phone/card reader whichever and copy the zip folder across to the root of your card. It will overwrite the folder already there.
Take a backup first to be safe, so that you can backtrack if something goes wrong.
7 digit codes by the way
Good luck!

Thanks Ken. Rep added. Hve installed. Will try it on phone in the morning.
KenBruce 5th April 2007, 03:09 Just to update this link to the postcode zip files. The above link is for a now out of date version so ignore.
Meanwhile does anybody know of the whereabouts of a postcode file for UK and Channel Islands which goes with the Navteq map v660 .1256 of Western Europe?
The Channel Islands are not shown on the TeleAtlas version so the 'usual' post code file does not cover the islands.
