Just bought a new HP Pavilion DV5200tx which has a dual layer
DVD RW support.

However, when i insert any cd/dvd, sometimes it doesn't detect the drive,
at times restartin the notebook solves it ... at times there is some problem in detecting ... it says some error and tht th atpi driver is old .....

i run win xp home the drive is HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N

My friend try to use DVD idle Pro, because your drive has a region lock. DVD idle pro will unlock your drive w/out flashing firmware or whatever it is... Safer and Effective and 800% will extend your dvd drive life... Thank You

it happens to me too, but when I press the drive in more it works, like slightly push it in more.

have you tried update from hp website? sonic express labler?
