Really? I thought current handsets still had to be manually adjusted for brightness.

Wow, I never thought about that. The camera phones do have an ambient light sensor, isn't it. Now if only I could lay my hands on such an app; next time we're playing cricket I could use my cellphone as visibility meter and call off the match for bad lights (if we're not looking good i.e.)

There is an app called N-lights which can also control light of keypads, but it was designed for N-gage and worked properly on it.
I have tried it on my 6630 but it doesn't work properly on it.
I requested for a 6630-working version of N-lights in many places, but I am not sure a working version for 6630 is yet released.
If anybody finds N-lights working on 6630, please tell about it, here.
