I just got a new Kingston 1GB Mini SD for my N73. I put it in my phone and it was recognized immediately. I copied a few files across and then finished the install. after trying to take a picture the cam would not come on so i reset the phone with the card in it, but after starting up my card doesn't work. When the phone starts up it starts to install the card but faile to do so after some time.


I have taken the Mini SD out of my phone and put it into the card reader that's in my laptop. Windows recognizes that it is a SD card and also prompts to format it - but when I try to format it as FAT or FAT32 it says it can't complete. I have tried doing it through DOS too, but it comes back as saying that there is a bad Track 0 and the card is unusable.:???:

you shouldnt reset phone with memory card in! this is what you do:
1.take memory card out from phone and then reset.
2.put card in the phone and format with phone...
3. if you failed the steps 1 and 2. your warranty of the card? maybe get it to the shop where you bought it..? :)

yeah i did not do step 1 & 2 i, the card was in when i reset guess my card is dead? i got the phone from china friend got it for me :cry:

the phone is OK! i got the phone from china with the card so no i can't send it back will take too long at tooo much just wanted to know if there was a way to format RAW to FAT16 when i put it on my pc it shows file type raw.

...oh...so you got the card with the phone...well then you have to ask nokia... or is it nokia SD card???

i got da same problem .. when i put empty card in mmc reader n put sum apps n games n install .. n next day i try to put in reader it dint detect i try many minisd card but same prob in N73 !!

im a nokia showroom owner...and i have realised kingston card are not doing good rght now...u better buy toshiba lifetime warranty card..
and yeh try to format ur old card with mmc medic...it will help

yes my 1GB worked good too. but if ever you reset the phone remember to take your card out, i did not take mines out:oops: new to nokia and this N73 now my Kingston is dead!

i suggest u shoould format it using FAT32.that is the best as i use that 1

the only have up to 2GB for MinSD!

if your phone starts to trip out say it keeps restarting and frezz or your text msg keeps asking for your sender name and more bugs then it's time to reset your phone i had the text msg bug after reseting phone was good but i lost my 1GB kingstone card do not reset your phone ever with your card in the phone it can hell it!:toimonst:

Something similar happened with my minisd of the same brand name.
After trying everything i was aware of, i had to go and get it replaced.

I suggest you do the same. The new one i got is also a Kingston 1 GB but this one in the last 7 days has not given any problems. I have used its 80% capacity and most of the applications are on the card, Till date it is good but who knows?

does n73 read FAT32? i think i screwed my mini sd card up =(
