a virus on my computer winlogon.exe,my antivirus is kaspersky with daily update, i can not remove this virus, when i scan my kasper antivirus says password protect,cannot process.:???:

I think this is a rontokbro virus.. is it? if yes u can use avg free edition to scan it.

Hi if u r really interested in removing virus than there are many options,

#1 Install any antivirus Bitdefender is gud i believe or use ur existing antivirus, update its virus definitions and create dos virus removable floppies. Boot from that floppies and scan it.

#2 Goto symentec or google search for virus removal tool, b4 tht try to identify the virus name. Then download the virus removal tool its free or if u cant find the the virus name see the description of the virus removal tool on the symentec site. With this u can easily remove the virus.

#3 If ur winlogon.exe is infected and u r sure than, and u r on a xp system u can delete the winlogon and replace it using the recovery console (if u dont understan plz dont do this coz the system wont boot if failed to recover:heart: )

#4 If u got any hard disk installed with win98 or xp then disconnect the infected hard disk and connect the new hard disk as primary master, and boot from new hard disk, update the antivirus then connect ur infected hard disk as slave start the system and scan the system thorowly.
Hope this methods help in removing the virus.

I suggest you try using Antivir if it's a rontokbro (or brontok). From my experience, this antivirus can deal well with this virus. To be sure, open your Windows Explorer, go to Tools and look for "Folder Options". If it is missing, then 99% you are infected with brontok. Here is the Antivir link;

To remove brontok u can use brontok washer. u can download here :

Look like Blue ray have the neccessary files to solve your problem, just follow his instruction.

unzip the file and right click mouse on the .inf file and choose install. is that correct Blue_ray?
