Hi there!

Is there a way to clean duplicate files of Ipod, like in system mechanic? I notice that i sometimes mistakenly transffer songs which I have done earlier. It would be great to get rid of this multiple files to free up space. I have a 5G Ipod.

just do a reset using the ipod updater....if ur using the old version of iTunes that is before v7.0 then u will have a seprate updater application by which u can restore and start a clean new list of music.....or if u are using the new version of iTunes that is v7.0 simply open up iTunes and click on restore....remember u will loose all data while this takes place...itz just like flashing ur mobile

i do not like to restore my ipod. All i want to do is remove duplicate files.

may be you have solved this problem but i'm gonna write it anyway incase anyone needs.
(i tried this without my ipod connected(never tried/needed when connected), but it should work with an ipod connected)
with itunes 7 connect your ipod and select music section in it.Then in itunes menu click "view -> show duplicates"
then do whatever you want :)
