For the N80 you need the firmware 4.0623 to run it correctly (*#0000# to know the version) : you can upgrade version 3.xxx to 4.xxx buy flashing the phone,
For the N72 it must be with new firmware (symbian 9.13 3rd not symbian 2nd 2.28)
If you want to know the version of the soft press *#0000# on your phone

Does not work with 3250 and N91 !!!

You have to install this first. then it asks you wich device you have and in the list there is also S60 3rd edition... It found my Memory Card now let's see what it's gonna do. Stay tuned

All I did was copy all the files to the mem card and it self installed I've tried to install the GB map plus major roads of WE but i cant get the right activation code with the keygen. Installed on to my N80.

I installed the tt6 on my n80 work fine, after the installation i found a benelux map, but the damn map needs activation serial.

4)Then type as follows cd C:\ [Press Enter]

6)Then type: cd keygen : You will then see c:\keygen>
7) Then type : TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe North_america.mid :
Don't forget the space between .exe and North.

Try copying everything over. Also, the device id is not your IMEI. Open your map in TT and when it asks for avtivation select manual and it will give you a code. That code is your device id.

Has anyone managed to activate the new GB map, i followed the process using the GB midi but it gave the wrong code. I've got it running on my old TT5 maps but want to try the new one. Can you help?

Okay...fixed this myself...even after copying everything to SD-Card the program didn't show up.

I had to run TT Home wish the SD-Card in my CardReader. It identified it but said "unknown device" - I than click "change device" and choose "S60 v3". Took the card back in the phone and it worked....


So I got my TT ID and run the keygen with it.

The activation key had some Numbers in it. I first had the problem to enter it. The "normal" Blue-Number key didn't work, you have to press "chr" and the numberkey.

Unfortunitly the application says "this is not the correct activation key"....I'm just uploading a new map and will try it with this one again....

i have a problem with the italy-map: if i install it on miniSD of my N80 my phone end to work (freez, also if i reboot the phone).
If i delete the italy map and i install guam map, all work perfectly.

Guys this is driving me crazy! I have done all the steps but when I open the TT home I can't get it to find the installation files. On the right bar it shows the phone with the application but I can't hit install on the left side.

It's a great application I've been waiting for tomtom (S60 3rd) for ages, it works perfect in my N80 ... the same tomtom problem with N70 (BT connection drops and phone freezes if POI activated) ... anyhow for those having trouble installing tomtom 6 in their phones follow the instructions:

1. Extract the folowing file to your Mini SD (or whichever memory card u using).

3. Insert your memory card in your phone .. installation should start by itself

4. Download the Map Activation Keygen and extract the files to e.g C:/TTNKeygen

I copied all files to SD. Then started the TT home application to install TOMTOM on the device. It says it cannot find the files on the computer. However it finds the files on the device. If I don't open TT home I cannot run the application from the device itself.

Got the same problem, TomTom home recognises that i have installed TomTom 6 on the mem card and the maps etc, but there is no icon or anything in any of the folders/subfolders that i can find, i can find all of the folders when using Y-Browser but nothing will launch from it, PLEASE help

ok people to solve the problem of installing in the SD I made like this. I formatted the mini sd then I copyed with a card reader all the contents of the software uploaded in the first soft.. Can u plse tell me how you sign the code ID, or where do you get the ID? I can load Tomtom at step 5 but it could not find any map even though Guam map is on the SD, The TomTom just quit.

got it working on n80 -

copy everything to card folders such as sys copy the contents to the same named folders on the card as well as any others where folder is already on card, the copy over guam map over to card then apply crack as mentioned earlier in this post - then any other maps you install will then work

Thanks for the post! I only have one problem: I have a N91, copied all files and folders to HDD foolowing instructions, TT installs and asks me for language and config stuff, but after voice selection returns to menu. Is there anyone who installed it on N91?

Follow my instructions if you have an N73 and it will work, any other phone and you're on your own. My mate had to activate his GB map (on his N73) after doing the Guam one, which I didnt have to do, but it still works fine for him.

The best(?) question emailed to me so far ... 'How do I open a DOS box?'. Give up mate, go back to using a public phone box and a calculator.

PS - The Great_Britain.Postal full postal codes file that worked with TomTom v5 works with v6 too. Sorry, no I wont send it to anyone, find it yourself.

NOTE: ALWAYS use Mass Storage connection when doing PC to Phone - IMPORTANT!


1) Extract TomTom_6.010.rar to a new directory on your PC
2) Connect PC to Phone via datacable
3) Copy the ENTIRE contents of the new TomTom directory from 1) on the PC to the root of the MEMORY CARD on your phone

4) Disconnect phone using the 'Safely Remove Hardware' Icon from the XP Tool Tray

5) TomTom will auto-install on the phone
6) Reconnect Phone to PC with data cable

7) XP will ask what to do - Choose Install TomTom Home on PC
8) After PC Install, close program - Use the Icon in the Tool Tray to make sure its fully closed
9) Extract Guam and Great Britain Maps to new directories on your PC

10) Copy Guam and Great_Britain directories to Memory card on the phone
11) Disconnect Phone from PC

12) Run TomTom on the phone, when it asks to activate a map, choose the Guam map
13) Choose MANUAL activation
14) TomTom will show a code on the phone

15) On the PC, extract TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.rar to a new directory on the c: drive called keygen
16) Copy Guam.mid from the map directory on your PC to the c:\keygen directory
17) Open a DOS prompt (see below for how) and navigate to c:\keygen
18) Type : TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Guam.mid
19) Enter the code TomTom gave at 14) above

23) Switch Map to Great Britain

24) Done!

Ok, this is nice:lol: but...... i installed this on a nokia 3250 and everything went well. Started up the program and choose some settings, when i choose a voice and selected it the program crashed, it shuts down. I tried this a few times and stille the same, so i uninstalled tomtom. Now when i copy all to sd card nothing happens, install won't begin and installing with sis file doesn't work (says, can't install) I tried formatting sd-card, factory settings phone, copied all from clean begin but install still doesn't begin. Anyone any suggestions please???

Working like a dream on my N73 - My Install Instructions for N73 and UK map only - DONT ASK ME ABOUT ANY OTHER CONFIG - I DONT KNOW!

NOTE: ALWAYS use Mass Storage connection when doing PC to Phone - IMPORTANT!
Does this means using data transfer on phone when prompted pc suite, data transfer or pictbridge??

1) Extract TomTom_6.010.rar to a new directory on your PC
2) Connect PC to Phone via datacable
3) Copy the ENTIRE contents of the new TomTom directory from 1) on the PC to the MEMORY CARD on your phone

4) Disconnect phone using the 'Safely Remove Hardware' Icon from the XP Tool Tray
Done!!! but it does not proceed to step 5
5) TomTom will auto-install on the phone
6) Reconnect Phone to PC with data cable

7) XP will ask what to do - Choose Install TomTom Home on PC
8) After PC Install, close program - Use the Icon in the Tool Tray to make sure its fully closed
9) Extract Guam and Great Britain Maps to new directories on your PC

10) Copy Guam and Great_Britain directories to Memory card on the phone
11) Disconnect Phone from PC

12) Run TomTom on the phone, when it asks to activate a map, choose the Guam map
13) Choose MANUAL activation
14) TomTom will show a code on the phone

15) On the PC, extract TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.rar to a new directory on the c: drive called keygen
16) Copy Guam.mid from the map directory on your PC to the c:\keygen directory

uhm... i got it work by (after disconnect cable) removing the memory card from the phone, leavin it work without and THEN insert again the mini SD Card..

Get a 2gb mini sd from sandisc and then see if you can get the Western_and_Central_Europe map it's about 1.6 gb.
Then you have all the maps of europe.

These are the countries in de map: Groot-Brittannië, België, Nederland, Luxemburg, Zweden, Noorwegen,

Download the file 'Guam_V650[1].1109.rar' posted kindly by Talesin (on page 3). Use that with the keygen. Once the Guam map is activated you can switch to the GB map (which will now be working).

I have used several different instructions and am currently at my most successfull stage!

I am using the first file posted that started this thread, a GBPlus map as well as the Guam map on page 3.

I am using a data cable and in data transfer mode where I have copied all the files over successfully but am unable to get Tom Tom to start installing on my phone.

Tom tom home recognises the files as installed on my memory card yet there is nowhere to start the programme.

I am using an N80 and was unable to do a hard reboot using the previously mentioned (call+1+*) however I have done a number of reboots of the phone as well as taking the card in and out.

Is the problem that I am using a card I have been using for a while. It has plenty of space but does tom tom require a formatted card or is there something else I can try before?

I appreciate that there is a lot of information in this thread but I have been trying for the past 3 hours now to little effect.

It's a great application I've been waiting for tomtom (S60 3rd) for ages, it works perfect in my N80 ... the same tomtom problem with N70 (BT connection drops and phone freezes if POI activated) ... anyhow for those having trouble installing tomtom 6 in their phones follow the instructions:

1. Extract the folowing file to your Mini SD (or whichever memory card u using).

3. Insert your memory card in your phone .. installation should start by itself

4. Download the Map Activation Keygen and extract the files to e.g C:/TTNKeygen

6. click start -> run -> type cmd -> OK

10. enter your activation code and here you go you runing tomtom

Open TomTom HOME, HELP -> configuration info, and look for Device ID.

start tomtom when you're asked to activate choose manually then you wil see the device id

I did it, after about 4 hours of trying this and that i finally got it installed!!!

heres how i did it for my N80

1. Copy anything you want on your memory card to a folder on your desktop via a card reader.

2. Put the memory card back in your phone and the format it.

3. Put the memory card back in the card reader and copy and paste all the files found in http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VOLJS3G3

4. Once that is done i turned my phone off and then inserted the memory card and then switched it back on.

5. After booting back up look in my own on the menu.

6. You should have an TomTom icon with red hands.

7. Click on this and TomTom will auto install.

8. Load TomTom home on your desktop.

9. Connect your phone via usb cable to computer and select Data Transfer on the menu on the phone screen.

10. On TomTom home select from top toolbar 'Device' and the option 'Change Device' and then select 'Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition'

11. You should now see on the right hand side of the screen your Memory Card name and what is installed on it.

12. To install the maps and patch them please see Talesin's post on Page 3 of this thread, it is very easy to follow and thanks to him for the post.

Works great on N73 (Rep Added) I used darfbozo's instructions on page 11, only difference was the Gb map needed activated in the same way as the Guam one, note the .mid file was hidden! but keygen works.

Only problem is I dont have a gps receiver yet! I'm want to buy either the Holux GPSlim236 or GlobalSat BT-338. Has anyone tried any of these on the N73 before I buy???

I have GB 650 and Guam 650 installed correctly, TT Home see's them when connected, although TT Home doesn't pick up a device code in configuration info for my N91

run the keygen again but use the .mid out of your italia mapdir then enter that code in tomtom for that map.

It's only for S60 V3 phones, so no it won't work on your 6680 - or my N70 :( :(

its a no go for me with the new firmware as well, looks like us n91 users will have to wait and see if something happens, here are the things i`ve tried. does anyone else have any ideas?

using different maps/no maps
using voices from the old 5.2
formating n91 hard drive
updating latest firmware for phone

Great instructions but no matter what i do i cant get TomTom to install, it pretty much gets to the end of installation then says unable to install file!
I dont understand why.
maybe you have an answer????
TomTom Home recognises that it is on the phone mem but cant install it on the phone!!

For those having problems with tomtom not installing automatically on their phones:

-when you copy the tomtom files from your computer to your memorycard, open the tomtom_6.010 folder and go to 'edit' (on the toolbar) and click 'select all' and then click 'copy'. Then paste straight to the memorycard. DO NOT just copy the tomtom_6.010 folder straight to your memorycard or make a folder for the files - if you do, the software will not install automatically!!

I've copied all files to the phone, removed the memory card and put it back in. It installed automatically; so far so good.

Then, I put the Guam map on it, and registered it using the keygen. No problems so far.

Next, I copied the Benelux map to the memory card, which, reading the instructions, should have been already activated. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I figured that maybe the Benelux map should have been on the memory card while activating the Guam card (Is that so?). Removing the Guam map and copying back didn't solve the problem.

Now, I thought a reinstall would solve the problem, so I did App. manager -> Tomtom -> remove. OK, done. Time for a restart I thought.... not so! I can't get Tomtom to install. I've tried everything but a phone format.

Any ideas? I've got an N80. Thanks in advance.

I've read somewhere that when you uninstall something from the phone then you can't install the same thing again. Unless ofcourse you format the phone. Stupid OS9.1. Sheeesh

its a no go for me with the new firmware as well, looks like us n91 users will have to wait and see if something happens, here are the things i`ve tried. does anyone else have any ideas?

click on start and then run. Then type cmd. This should bring up ur command prompt window. From this you then do as follows:
1 - type cd C:\ press enter
2 - Now type cd keygen press enter
3 - Now type TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Guam.mid press enter
4 - This will bring up device id: (this can be found by opening tomtom on ur fone and when it asks to activate map select manual) Input this and press enter
5 - it will then give you the activation code that you require to unlock the map on your phone

I don't understand why people are having so many problems. I was able to do this in 10 minutes on my N73. The only problem I had was with the initial auto-install. It wouldn't install, but after rebooting, it installed without a hitch.

I feel like posting another how-to, but there at least five in this thread and people are still having problems. Seems like people just don't read thoroughly.

Wrote a short batch file that will copy all of the necessary files, except maps.

You must rename the file to TomTom.bat and run this from a command prompt. The file takes two arguments; the source folder and the destination. I suggest that you extract all of the contents of the TomTom installation zip file to c:\temp. The destination folder should be the drive letter mapped to your phone's miniSD card. Whether it be that you are connecting the phone via USB or using a media reader, make sure you have the correct drive letter.

Ex. With TomTom.bat in c:\temp
Source folder - c:\temp
Destination folder - e:\

From the command prompt, enter c:\temp\TomTom.bat c:\temp e:\

Copy the map folders to the root of the miniSD card.

Ex. Guam-Map should be copied to e:\ and should show up as e:\Guam-Map.

The .mid file of a map contains metadata that is used by TomTom. If there is no .mid file in a folder, then the map will not show up in the list of available maps in TomTom.

Bro this version is old. I used with my nokia 6680, and sorry but that map sucks ive tested the eastern europe. ( from netherland to Turkey and back)

not working on my n91 get to voice screen then it crashes, i have been up hours playing with this, but it dont work, i upgraded my n91 firmware to version 2.00

i think the issue may be surrounding the resolution of the n91 as its lower then any of the others such as n80

any suggestions os solutions to get this running on n91.


also instead of keep formatting your cards to get the tomtom install on the n91 you can just go app manager and select tomtom to install.

Can any1 tell me how TT runs on their N80? I have FW 3.0617.0.6 and TT is quite buggy. Freezes regularly and map position does not update for quite a large portion of the time. GPS receiver has hard time connecting. I wonder if FW 4.0623.0.41 is much better?

press the menu button, "change preferences" / on page 4/5 "show GPS status" / press "configure" button / press up, and select "other bluetooth GPS receiver / search for your device..

Alrite guys. Yeah was a pretty simple install for me too on my n73.

Even the old celebrity voices work with Navigator. I thought TomTom would have made sure that you needed to purchase them all again!

Are you sure you device ID (B2BD6) is correct - mine was three lots of 5 numbers / letters. e.g. xxxxx xxxxx

Check that. If it still doesnt work post up your device ID and somebody will generate a key code for you.

In my N80 tomtom works but I have not time to try it on a trip. Today I am going to do that so in the evening I will tell you how tomtom works. I also have FW 3.0617.0.6. GPS receiver: Nokia LD-3W.

try to go in the Menu -> Tools -> App Manager, you will find "Tom Tom Navigator" marked as not installed. click on Options -> Install and you shuold be able to install it

Have you tried restarting the phone, and also removing the memory card and re-inserting? My n73 needed mem card removing and re-inserting

I must disagree. After installation of new app/theme/game on your phone go to -> menu / settings / file browser / installed files. You can find there everything you installed before so when you uninstall something, file in 'installed files' still exists so no need to install again via usb cable. Folder 'installed files' keeps your installation files.

I did it, after about 4 hours of trying this and that i finally got it installed!!!

heres how i did it for my N80

1. Copy anything you want on your memory card to a folder on your desktop via a card reader.

2. Put the memory card back in your phone and the format it.

3. Put the memory card back in the card reader and copy and paste all the files found in http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VOLJS3G3

4. Once that is done i turned my phone off and then inserted the memory card and then switched it back on.

5. After booting back up look in my own on the menu.

6. You should have an TomTom icon with red hands.

7. Click on this and TomTom will auto install.

8. Load TomTom home on your desktop.

9. Connect your phone via usb cable to computer and select Data Transfer on the menu on the phone screen.

10. On TomTom home select from top toolbar 'Device' and the option 'Change Device' and then select 'Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition'

11. You should now see on the right hand side of the screen your Memory Card name and what is installed on it.

12. To install the maps and patch them please see Talesin's post on Page 3 of this thread, it is very easy to follow and thanks to him for the post.

Hope this helps everyone out there who like i was, is probablly pulling their hair out and swearing quite loudly at their phones

You must use keygen in directory which only contains 2 files:
- TT6_kg_4_Pda.exe
- yourmap.mid

If in this folder are more files like *.dat the code given by keygen is wrong!!

I have such a idea...
The main problem is that after installation some unidentifiable files are written on disc C:. In this time isn't any way how edit these files (Card-reader is only for memory cards, Y-browser can't etc.). I don't know anything about FExplorer and its access to the systems folders on C:.
Without these utilities is only one way to solving my troubles - format C: :cry:

Goit the same problem, i have installed TT6 and the Guam map and activated all of it it it works ok, but i have a problem when i try to activate the GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE
When i open WinRar it shows - GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid

But when i extract the files the .mid file disapears it leaves two GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE files, one which ends with .pna and the other with nothing.
When i aply the crack TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe to the GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.pna it gives the activation code of 843MS UWW8R RT2XS which does not work.

The device code is ANHAW DSPG2

Just out of interest - i had to activate both the guam map and GB map separately using the keygen twice. Pretty sure that i read that if you activated the guam map then all other maps would be ok. Wasnt the case for me!

P.S. I'm on firmware 3.18, how can i find the latest version. As option does not come up on nokia site but read elsewhere 3.21 is available.

Min237 bro try to instal the tthome, u can edit your voices inside that program. if this not fix your problem, format your card and put the tt6 again in your card.
P.s. Go always to the nokia central point for a new firmware, dont try it home if u dnt know what u are doing..

If you are only looking for firmware 3.21 to solve the problem to get past the voice selection.... don't bother. I have 3.21 on my 3250 and it still doesn't work, been at it for hours and either it won't install or (after a hard reset) it installs but can't get past voice selection...........

Thanks but after i restart the Phone comes "Install" and the Error
"Unable complete the Installation on your Mamory Card" and in app Manager
write "Uable to install"...why??

This is getting frustrating for all N91 & 3250 owners whilst all the N80 & N93 boys and girls are living it up with TT working on their phones. :cry:
It didn't take me hours to setup on my N91 but it now looks like do not pass go and do not collect 200 pounds until the voice crash inital setup problem is sorted out by maybe someone at Nokia or TT:???:

Yeah i know, been waiting for a sat nav app for a while.
Definitely some kind of bug with the N91 and 3250 model phones. Seems any firmware updates are not solving the problem either. Maybe its something to do with the resolution as someone has mentioned before.
The TOMTOM web site doesn't even list the N80 or N93 as compatable, whats going on there?

I think a lot of us have tried this. I have put at least 2 different maps on my N91 and it made no difference:cry: I am still yet to read a N91 owner who has TT working. If you are out there, please let us all know what the secret is :win:

hello ...great forum ....i installed the tom tom 6 files to my n80 ,and everything installed without a problem ,but when i connect my gps receiver, tom tom works for a moment then the phone locks up and i have to restart the phone .. any ideas ..thanks

Just tried it on my networked computer at work from the dos prompt and i couldnt get onto the C:\ either and got the same message. May be something to do with that.

I finally got it installed on my N80 :-)
Can any1 tell me how TT runs on their N80? I have FW 3.0617.0.6 and TT is quite buggy. Freezes regularly and map position does not update for quite a large portion of the time. GPS receiver has hard time connecting. I wonder if FW 4.0623.0.41 is much better?

I have tested TT and as you mentioned above it is quite buggy on N80 and freezes from time to time. Maybe new firmware 4.x will solve this problem or new version of TT application. Time will show.

It looks like we have to wait until route66 is cracked. Until now it is not possible to make the TT6 for the N91 users to work. Does someone know who cracked the TT6, maybe we can asked them if he or she can crack the R66
