HI i just downloaded a file for mac, its a *.dmg file, which i later found out to be an image found for mac only. because im using a pc, and i have this dmg file in my pc, im wondering if there is any way to burn out a bootable mac dvd from my pc? so far i've searched but nobody seems to have an aswer. if anyone could help it would relaly be great, coz i need it urgently, thank you so much! :D

nearly all burniin programs have option to create bootable disk like nero..the file u downloaded must be bootable file in order to create a one so try first usin RW cd or dvd..

yeah the .dmg file is actually a bootable file but its for the mac. its like iso for pc except its not iso. i tried using nero to burn out, but the problem is im using a pc to attempt to burn a bootable dvd for a mac. nero doesnt work, im wondering if there is any programme which can allow such stuff to happen.

apps like download accelerator plus and similar apps claim to increase the speed of the downloads.... torrent apps increase the speed of the download if the seeders or leachers have shared their speed...
for normal downloads using ie or even accelerators, there can be a boost but the speed would depend on the connection speed always... there is an app posted on the forum (dont remember name) which helps in using the connection speed to the max...

after downloading all the updates for the utilities..

turn off the system restore of your PC:
(this is because the trojan can still be in your system restore folders)
right click my computer
go to properties
click the system restore tab
and uncheck the turn on system restore in all drives thingy..
then scan

never ever heard of such a problem... try an antivirus as well as an anti spyware program... use norton and spybot... they r the best... also if u still get the message and u have the restore disk of ur os... then format ur pc and install windows again... will remove every possible threat from ur pc...

@nandakumar.k - i agree with you. but there's a spyware imitating this windows genuine advantage warnning. it happened to me. i use a genuine win xp and i had this warning. i used spyware doctor and it detected a false warning spyware.

At first U can Uninstall your Winrar then again install Winrar, but remember when you Install Winrar deselect jar files..

Hello there mate, these are not viruses. These are system files that your computer needs to work. One recylcer is your recycle bin, where deleted files go before they are permanently deleted and system volume information stores windows boot and critical information. Do not touch them :) and you can't delete them anyway.

is it not infected ??? n also my system in all folders shows thumbs icon what is it?

all you need to do is from Tools menu click on Folder options, go into view menus and select "do not show hidden files and folders" it will hide your system files and folders
also to solve your thumbnails problem if you go into view menu it will give you different view options, default it to tiles and it will convert your icons accordingly

One thing you can do to improve your connection, switch off your cable modem for two minutes and switch it back on, this should work for you,

Whats the problem exactly? I would suggest just doing repair if you have the windows xp cd available. Boot to it, select install, let it search for windows and then hit repair :).

hi to all!! CALLING ALL MODS!!!! :D i have a problem here.. when i connect my usb flash drive on my computer,, there is no usb drive shown on "my computer".. i tried to change the letter of the other connected drives on my computer and assign a new path or letter on the usb drive,, and the usb drive is shown but it is connected as a local disk!! it is not connected as a removable disk!! and when i reconnect my usb on my computer, the local disk which is the usb drive is still there but i cannot open it anymore.. what should i do??

in the last 2/3 weeks and still today, i have this problem with my pc

this error comes out when i try (not always, but 7 out of 10) to rename/move/copy/cut/paste/... any kind of file between the folders of my hard disk or in the same folder. If i press ok, the window goes away, but it doesn't resolve the problem; if i click copy link or submit, the pc freezes.

I have already checked all, virus, spyware, last installed applications, nothing seems to have caused this problem and it does not go away.

Because of this, building an HTPC (Home Theatre PC) can be a daunting task for the first time. I’ll try to make things as easy as possible, keeping quality in mind of course.
HDTV comes mainly as the following types of files:

.ts files, or Transport Stream files. These are ‘pure MPEG-2′ files, ripped bit-for-bit from HDTV content providers. These are the biggest files (a 1080i or 720p movie will be around 8-10 GB).
h.264 / MPEG-4 AVC files. The latest, greatest MPEG codec, which can’t seem to decide on a name. This is the same encoding technology used by Blu-Ray, but these are not direct Blu-Ray rips. These often come in the .MKV file format, which is simply an alternative to .AVI, but open-source and with more features. TV shows like CSI and Heroes often come in this format, and are usually 1.2 GB per 40 minute episode.
Xvid/DivX MPEG-4 files. These are becoming rare, as once you get up there in resolution and bit rate, the demands on the CPU are quite high. Still, they are out there. I have the full collection of BBC’s Planet Earth (http://www.bbc.co.uk/sn/tvradio/programmes/planetearth/) in 1080p XviD. Playing these files yields the highest CPU usage (over 30% on a Core 2 Duo 6800). Each 60 minute episode is about 3 GB.I am going to tell you what I think is the best way to play these file types. There are easier ways to do it, but when quality is your main concern, you don’t always want to take the easy way out http://www.k-rad.hk/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

You will need several pieces of software to be able to play all of the above file types:

You’ll need a media player. Everything described here will work in Windows Media Player, but that’s not necessarily the best option. Quality wise, it will be the same though. For what it’s worth, I prefer to use The Core Media Player (http://www.corecoded.com/). Basically because it tells you exactly what DirectShow filters are being used, and that’s what helped me figure all of this out. It also easily allows you to change the aspect ratio of the video being played, but I have only come across this requirement once (to play the BBC shows). Other popular choices are Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/) and Zoom Player (http://www.inmatrix.com/files/zoomplayer_download.shtml).
The right DirectShow filters and codecs. Windows won’t play a single HDTV show that I described above, unless you install the appropriate filters and codecs.
A media splitter. You will need a splitter so Windows knows what to do with .mkv files and .ts files. Some decoders have this function built in, most do not.So here we go!
You need an Audio Decoder
AC3 Filter (http://ac3filter.net/) is something I am going to recommend to everyone. Although many decoders have built-in support for AC3, PCM, and DTS decoding, AC3 Filter does it all. You may wish to use different decoders, but this should always be installed as a backup.
Media Splitter to play .MKV files

To play .MKV and .ts files across any filter you choose, stick with the Haali Media Splitter (http://haali.cs.msu.ru/mkv/). It also supports MP4 and AVI splitting, but I would recommend to just use it for MKV files. Depending on which MPEG-2 decoder you decide on, you may want to use it for .TS files as well.
How to play .TS files
As I mentioned, .ts files are quite simply pure MPEG-2 video files with AC3 audio. They are often downloaded as a hundred or so .ts files, so you will first need to merge them into one. For this, use HDTVtoMPEG2 (http://www-personal.umich.edu/~balazer/HDTVtoMPEG2/). Don’t go to this page (http://www.midwinter.com/~bcooley/) to get the latest version; even though it shows up first on Google, it’s REALLY outdated.
To convert .ts to a single file, simply add all the .ts files you downloaded, set a “Max Size” to something huge, like 20000 MB, and hit “Process”. You can either convert it to an MPEG-2 carrier, or leave it as .TS. I prefer to leave it, just to keep things as original as possible.
Now that you have on single .ts or .mpg file, you will need an MPEG-2 decoder to play it. Windows does not come with an MPEG-2 decoder, so you will need to install one. Most MPEG-2 decoders are commercial software, but there is a free one out there, libmpeg2, which is built into FFDShow (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow). I’ll be mentioning FFDShow quite a bit from now on.
A better choice, if you have a good video card, is to use the commercial decoder from the manufacturer. If you have an nvidia 7xxx or 6xxx series card, you will want to use their PureVideo DVD decoder (http://www.nvidia.com/object/dvd_decoder.html). This will let you use your video card’s built-in hardware MPEG-2 acceleration. ATI has Avivo (http://ati.amd.com/technology/Avivo/index.html), but I haven’t quite figured it out yet.. I don’t think they actually have an MPEG-2 decoder, as there is nothing to download on their site. However they do talk about MPEG-2 (and even h.264) hardware acceleration, so perhaps I should look into it and do a writeup on that later on. Anyway, nvidia video cards are a superior solution for HDTV when you’re using RGB or DVI output.
Once you’ve installed either decoder, you can now play Transport Stream files. Just before writing this, I tested nvidia PureVideo against FFDShow’s libmpeg2. I watched the first minute or so of Transporter 2 in 1080i. FFDShow did not do a very good job at deinterlacing during horizontal movement, and it uses more CPU cycles than PureVideo, which is also multithreaded. Deinterlacing was perfect using a GeForce 7950 GT and PureVideo. Note that PureVideo comes with its own .ts splitter, so if you use it, you don’t need to enable .ts splitting with Haali. FFDShow comes with one, but it stuttered for me during playback. Using Haali fixed the problem. Both FFDShow and PureVideo come with AC3 decoders, so it is up to you whether you want to use AC3Filter (but again, I think it’s good to have as a backup).
How to play h.264/MPEG-4 AVC
We are going to be seeing more and more of this codec, so get used to it http://www.k-rad.hk/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif . You are going to need an h.264 decoder and a media splitter that supports .MKV files. By now, you should already have Haali Media Splitter installed, and AC3 Filter. So you have the splitter and audio handled, what about the video?
As far as I know, there is only one free h.264 decoder, and that’s libavcodec. Once again, it is built into FFDShow (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow). However just like with MPEG-2 decoders, the free solution isn’t necessarily the best. I have been using CoreAVC (http://www.coreavc.com/), which is faster, more efficient, and multithreaded. I haven’t done direct video quality comparison however.
With Haali Media Spliter, AC3 Filter, and either of these codecs, you now have full MKV and h.264 support! Grats!
Xvid and DivX Files
This is the easiest part. Take your pick; DivX (http://www.divx.com/) or Xvid (http://www.koepi.org/xvid.shtml). Or you can use FFDShow’s MPEG-4 decoding capabilities. Beginning to see a pattern here? FFDShow is truly the most-in-one solution. Paired with a media player that supports DirectShow (even Windows Media Player), you should have support for every codec. And best of all, it’s free. I prefer to stick to the original though, so I just use DivX. AC3 Filter will take care of the sound, which will usually come in AC3 format.
And there you have it. You now have what it takes to play HDTV content that you downloaded from one of the ways I described before. It may seem like I could have simply said “Just install FFDShow and everything will work”, that’s not quite the case. It’s a very robust solution, and it’s free, but it’s not necessarily the best. The splitter chokes on .ts files, and it didn’t deinterlace the 1080i movie I tested very well. But it’s free, so how much can you complain? I’m happy to have provided you with a free, most-in-one choice, and several commercial solutions that will give you better quality.
The All-in-One Solution
What if you want a single all-in-one solution? What if you have your preferred filters installed, and want to keep some things separate? For that, you have MPlayer with MPUI (http://mpui.sourceforge.net/) and VLC Media Player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/). Simply extract the archive to a directory, and you have a player that supports pretty much every format out there, all without messing around with filters and installation. Both VLC and MPUI use most of the free lib codecs that FFDShow uses, but it’s nice to have everything separate as a backup player. I have been using MPlayer/MPUI to play Canucks games that are encoded with h.264 and AAC audio (although I am probably going to use FFDShow for AAC playback from now on)

Save important file to another hard drive or burn them out and then reinstall windows xp again. Remember to not connect on the net before you secure your computer with anti virus software.

when i tried to play the movie on VLC media player...i only heard voices..no movie displayed.

I would suggest using Partition magic, i've use it in the past doing alot of disk configurations never had a problem, even with discs that had data, it was able to resize and not lose any data.

make sure you have vb6 runtime, go visit the Microsoft site and download them.. If that fails, ensure that your system is free from viruses or Trojans. Does this happen with any other program or just SmartMovie converter?

it is possible that when u installed the smartmovie converter it might have not been installed properly.go to add remove programes in the control panel then remove the smartmovie.reboot the computer and then install the new version.try this :iphonepost: :ilove:

first try to figure the size of the software you're going to upload. if the file size is above 5 mb you should create a torrent for it or just upload it to megaupload.com or rapidshare.com, in this way your file is in link type so you're going to post your app at PC APPS LINKS. but if your file is lower that 5 mb then post or upload it on PC APPS. but be sure that you search first before posting to avoid double post for an app... and one more thing crack should be put inside file archive to make it just one file...

i've seen that you already posted here and i will move it to pc apps links. this just for help problems not to post apps here.

ok bro .. so uh don't wanna share stuff i mean a drive in ur LAN WITH OTHERS rite ....

what uh did is uh made the drive into NTFS ....... thats neat man .... but only works if the other user has windows 98 ... then he won't be able to see that drive in his pc but if it is not windows 98 that he has then he will definitely see the files and can copy etc etc it .... xp n xp computers in lan can see ntfs drives ... but if it is 98 and xp thats in a lan ...then 98 will not recognise xp drive which is ntfs.

How about not sharing that drive altogether then uh wont face any probs ....

but uh want to share the drive but not a particular folder on the drive rite .... and Anyway .... since uh wanna password protect it then i recommend folder locking apps so that other users may not be able to see the folder ... for that here you go ....

kgb archiver is the best archiver ever made! you must look at the options there on how you're going to compress the file... just take time to look at all options..

this archiver can compress 650mb to 2-4mb only but will take you weeks to complete the archiving! and when extracting the file you have to take another weeks to extract it!

This guide using bitcomet bro.

1. Choose files then make torrent.
2. in the source file field, choose ur files source. after that click ok.
3. now u get ur torrent files. just that.

but don't forget, after upload ur files to ipmart. u also have to download it again. so the other can download ur files.

Yeah blue_ray is right and in addition to what he said after making your torrent post it and leave it open meaning the torrent should always be on so others can download your file. that is what we call "seeding" your file or in other term uploading your file to the downloaders... hope this info will help you..

pls be sure that you have your correct dvd disc. and try to figure out what kind of dvd you have if it is DVD-R / RW, DVD+R / RW, Double Layer DVD+R & also your dvd writter if it supports the 3 class off dvd.

Use A tweak application. search the forum and you'll find it.

are you referring to movies? if it is so then use proshow producer the simpliest but rockin' app for movies. after editing burn the movie using nero. search the pc apps links for the apps. we cannot post any apps here because this thread is for help purposes only.

try using pocket dvd converter. it wil affect the video quality just a little bit not other converters that it will make some converted files blur.... ttry to search pc apps links for that app..

try to open the crack on a safe mode. before windows starts booting press F8 then select option #1 safe mode

buddy you dont need to uninstall the IE just download IE7 supplied in this forum specifically at pc apps links and run the installer. after that all we working fine...

or go to safe mode and from there you can delete/uninstall IE...

Hi try the following solution and let me know if this fix your problem.

Type this command from Start, Run dialog: IE4UINIT.EXE

This command creates the Quick Launch folder automatically, if it is missing in the above location. Now, try to enable the Quick Launch bar. If the same error occurs, it's caused by another issue (due to a malware removal), type these two commands:

REGSVR32 /i SHELL32.DLL
REGSVR32 /i BROWSEUI.DLL

Restart Windows and enable the Quick Launch Toolbar.

I need help with Nero!! firstly I have just upgraded to Nero7 but I find that to burn a DVD takes longer eg to burn 2ep of lost used to take 1hr25min and now with Nero7 it takes about 2hr10min!! WHY??
Also this happens alot... When I go to burn I get the following warning
- "There is not enough space available for the recording process: There are 3555MB available for temp files in the folder 'c:\docme~1\user\locals~1\temp' "-
I have gone to this folder and it is empty I have also run a CleanUp program to delete all temp internet folders!! I have buckets of memory on my cdrive!! Please someone help!! Why is this happening?? What do I do to fix it???

I have only started downloading but things were going great until I upgreade to Nero7. Ive downloaded lost of shows such as Lost with my old nero I could burn 2 shows on one DVD disk! when I download the files the are Video Clips about 350KB in size. to burn on the old nero it would take about 1hr20min. now with nero7 initally it says its gonna take about 2hrs 20min to burn BUT just before the burn process is finished it aborts for some reason!!. I get NO warning that the project is too large. the videoclip files are the same size ~350KB but they now take up 438GB on the DVD. the only thing that has changed is that Im now useing Nero7. Ive downloaded a few movies and their video clips are about 700KB and I have no problem burinig them!! SO as it stands I have a whole series of Studio 60 on my hard drive and I cant burn them! well I could prob burn one to a single DVD BUT I dont want to do this as I was getting 2 to a DVD before!! is there anyway that I can reduce the size of the video clips before I burn them? Please Help I dont know what to do!!

someone help plz i used stompsoft digital vault to protect my files but now its not unprotecting it.
plz tell me how to recover my file.

i have problem with my window media player. Error message- window media does not install properly. I have deleted the window media file and when i try to install window media 10 it says u have a higher version of window in your computer and it wont install. The actual problem in the beginning is that when i try to play TVU it says ur window is not install correcrly...I,m confused and dont know what to do...I downloaded window media 11 from the the forum and it want to validate and mine is not original..PLS HELP

Hi,2day i bought a PINK FLOYD-'PULSE' Dvd.I wanted to make a copy of it but i found out that the Dvd is of 6.8Gb and my blank Dvd is of 4.7Gb only.Im in a dilemma now can anyone help me out? Thanx

This is dual layer dvd. u can use nero recode to convert it fit at 4.7GB blank DVD.

I have a problem....... dont know whether it is a virus or not........ cuz i dont have any anti-virus program installed on my system..... well my problem is i have many setup files on my system (my collection)....... there is no response when i click a setup file (.exe)...... althought some of them gives response...... it happens to installed applications as well...... when i click an installed app it doesn't start!

and one more thing the setup files which r in the archives .rar or .zip....... after extracting i can install them without any prob........ may be it is an EXE virus which disables the ability of starting the .exe program....... but is there any solution for this.......??? could sum1 help me out......... how to overcome this problem..........

EDIT: I sorted out the problem ;) ......... Ah an interesting virus, but i guess solution is more interesting!......... if anyone face this kind of problem plz let me know i'll surely help u out!

I think it's a virus, try install antivirus software and scan ur hard drive.

is there any trouble found in your computer? eg.your computer run slower than before? if the .exe file have a name that sounds doesn't familiar, better you don't install it, most of them are virus, n other unwanted things inside it..

i have a different sort of a problem here....i previously had older version 6.XX of nokia PC suite, later i over rode it with 6.8 version and i am unable to connect my phone to my compaq....i have no idea what's the problem...one user here in the forum suggested me trying to repair it in safe mode....but am not a computer pro and i dont know how to do it.. i will try to attach screenshots...

I have installed the latest version of Incredimail released 13th March Build 2847, none of the cracks worked including version 1.35 so I removed Incredimail and tried to install my previous version which was the full version.
When I try to install there is a message informing me that I have a leter version on my system and to download the latest version.
There is no way that I can go back to my'hacked' version.
There must be a file that Incredimail has installed that does not allow me to return to an earlier version.

Does anyone know how I can find and remove whatever file/files are stopping me returning to the previous version.

I have purchased a Qtek 9000 and I have managed to pair my bluetooth device to my Laptop (HP). Although I can transfer images, files etc I cant seem to be able to synchronise via bluetooth. I can only synchronise via the cable. Ive also done the partnership effort but when Im connected & ask to synchronise via bluetooth it asks for the partneship to be done again?
