This version is a working version for the Nokia S60v3 handsets - Thanks to a few other members on here for uploading the files posted below. So far this has been reported as working on the Nokia N80 & N73, but NOT on the N91.
Hopefully this guide is a little bit clearer on how to install TT6, but I can't try it myself as I've only got a n70

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VOLJS3G3

No maps were included so here's a link for the GB PLUS map originally uploaded on here by 'Twingo'

Once you have it unrar all the files either onto your PC or directly to the memory card of the phone (can use a card reader).

After that copy what ever map/maps you want to have onto the card.

So on your phone you should have a load of tomtom folders and files and your maps.

Once all files and maps are copied over, pop the card back into the phone.

You now need to download the keygen (TT6_kg_4_C4Pda) from here :-
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RC0M2WL7

Once you have the keygen extract it to your PC.

To make it easier just make a directory and extract it to C:\Keygen

Go to the folder you extracted the keygen to, so in this case it will be C:\Keygen and you should see the file TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe

Now go to your maps and copy over the MAP_NAME.mid file so in this case go to the Great_Britain map folder and copy the following file - Great_Britain.mid (if you use the GB Plus map use this file - GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid )

Paste the Great_Britain.mid (or GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid) into the directory with the keygen (c:\keygen) so that folder will have 2 items now:

TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe and Great_Britain.mid (or GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid)

Open up a command prompt (Start-Programs-Accessories-command prompt) and type cd C:\ (press enter) it should now display C:\>

Now type cd keygen it should now display C:\keygen>

Then type TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe Great_Britain.mid
(or TT6_kg_4_C4PDa.exe GB_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid)

(Make sure you have a space between .exe & Great)

It should now display Enter Device ID:

Ok, now in your phone go to the My own folder, in there you will find the tomtom icon. Click on it to start and it will ask you to select your preferences etc. Select the map you wish use and it will ask you activate it. Activate the map manually and it will give you a Device ID and ask for the activation code.

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!

Use the new keygen & help file in this thread :-

...and here is my trouble. I can't find this icon in My own folder. I've completed all of the steps (see above) but it doesn't work by me...

Did you try uninstall TT6 from the phone and install it again? When I installed for the first time everything were alright. When I uninstalled the TomTom from the phone, my problem begins...

I installed it ok on My N73, but when i have to activate the map i get invalid code for the ES_and_PT_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid Map.

TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe ES_and_PT_plus_major_roads_of_WE.mid
Enter Device ID:ANBAL C2LD6
Activation code: M6PTP VB9G6 MDUFJ

Any ideas?

Do i have to install the GB maps also?

Guy, try to activate Guam Map (only 300 Kb) on your MMC card,
after that all others maps you put on never ask for activation code.
Never delete Guam Map is necessary for your future work.

I'd like to be able to get the keygen code for others on a site who dont have access to a pc. Would they each need to send me their .mid file to do this or is there an easier way?

If you have got exactly the same map as the others then you can use .mid file will be the same so you can use it - will just need their device ID code.

Unfortunately I don't understand how to "install" tomtom to s60v3.0 without .sis file ? Just unraring files to memory card and then inserting memory card to phone --> nothing happends. For my understanding .sis-file is always needed when installing applications to symbian v3.0 phones.

I used to have TomTom (5.2) on my Imate SPV C500 and I used the bluetooth GPS device BT77.

I had no problems what so ever with TomTom on the Imate.

However, since installing and using TomTom (6) on the N73 I have noticed that the position displayed on the map doesnt tie up with the actual position.

The accuracy gets worse and worse and sometimes the heading starts to wonder off at 45 degrees.

Then it looses the GPS signal for 5 or 10 seconds.

When it regains the signal, after a short time the position displayed on the map gets more and more inaccurate again, until it temporarily looses the signal again.

This happens again and again.

Has anyone else had similar problems ?

I am using the Great-Britain map I had on TomTom 5.2.

Should I try the Great-Britain map V6.5 ?

How do I find out which version of map I am using ?

NOTE - INSTALLATION PROBLEM

After some messing about (before this thread was available) I managed to install this on my Nokia N73.

However, I had to use my old phone (Imate SPV C500) to copy the folders to the formattted miniSD card (formatted using the N73).

When I tried to copy the TomTom folders to the miniSD in the Nokia (using Nokia Explorer) it wouldnt allow me to copy some of the folders to the miniSD card ?

I suppose I wouldnt have had this problem if I used a card reader ?

Hi there,

I'm a newbie to all of this and just recently upgraded my handset from the Nokia 6680 to the Nokia N80. Can you tell me what megaupload is? I went to the site but couldn't find what tou were talking about in the steps. Is this something i have to subscribe to in order to access the details you mention above?

Also, can you please tell me what 'unrar' means and what you mean when you say 'extract the keygen'?

Thanks in advance.

First write cd c:\
then cd keygen

you must be on the root so you can get to the directory you want

you must be on your documents and settings when you open cmd

Hi there,

It seems I can't get it to work on my N73.

I tried with activationcode: JFSAH 2TRYG USK4S(wich was generated by someone else).
My devicecode is: ANDAQ DJFEJ

I tried to extract the keygen-file, wich is on my sd-card, to my pc, but than I receive notifications and there is nothing to extract. I'll end up with an empty folder.

Also, I can't seem to find a .mid-file on the sd-card. There is a Benelux and a Guam-folder, but there are no .mid-files inside there(at least, not that I can see on my pc).

Maybe someone can help me out, I don't understand why some people can get it to work on their N73, and I can't?.

I have TomTom 6 for Symbian 9.1 (S60 3rd) on my sd-card with TT6_kg_4_C4Pda-keygen. The only difference I notice is that I have S60 3rd instead of S60v3.

grtz prutser.

Hi

Followed the procedures exactly as they werre written. Downloaded each file from megaupload (extracting them to My Documents) and copies to the memory card. Then downloaded the keygen and extracted it to the C drive in my computer. Then copied the GB plus map into the same folder in C where the keygen is. Then went to my phone to look for the tomtom icon - no where. Looked in My own - not there; looked in Application Manager - not there; Looked in File Manager - can see the files i trf'd in but can't see any tomtom icon (is it the two hands one? If so, isn't there).

I'm stuck.....have got to the same point twice....and am getting frustrated.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks,

Hi,

Once you download the maps to your handset and tomtom runs it should ask you about activation. Hit manual activation and it will tell you your device ID.

This asumes that your computer is the one asking for the device ID

Sounds strange. Try this method:

http://www.iphone-forum.org/showthread.php?t=123715&highlight=tomtom+n80

Maybe worth downloading the guam map first and activating that one. Once done and it works download the remainder, but follow the steps on the above thread...it worked perfectly for me first time round

If still having probs try contacting Russell1 or Brooklyn or Neelix as they know most about TT6.

best of luck

P.S. if i'm of help, please leave +ve feedback

GB Plus Map V6.50 (UK + Major Roads Of W. Europe) (@176mb)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MPD7NQTY

Or here is the Great_Britain Map V650.1111 (@97mb) I've just uploaded

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NZ47R2H5

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!

sorry for very stupid question:)
but i got stuck

I got activation code but I can't enter it on my e61.

In the window of activation I can't enter nothing...i know it look stupid but maybe somebody could help me with this problem?

Hi Folks, I am almost there now. Have to say big thanks to JRHoop and Wakan for their help outside of the site...Cheers lads!

Just a bit stuck on the following tho...

On the site where Russell puts the following instruction...

"Once you have the keygen extract it to your PC.

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!"

Well, I pretty much understand the instruction but in my Keygen file after UnRar of the Maps folders I dont see any .mid files to transfer accross into the Keygen folder? The only file types I have are .PNA, .DAT, .CFG but certainly no .MID files? Any clue as to which one I swap accross.

Any pointers?

In your map folder you should have a real player file with the extension '.MIDI' (MIDI is used for MID). If so, this is the file that you need to copy to your keygen folder.

Hi Russell1,

Do yuo know if you can get any additional warning sounds for tomtom - on top of the normal ones?

Reason for asking is that i downloaded the one for the GPS cameras (the new 7640 data.chk file) which overwrote the existing ones in Tomtom, but this has now left me with nothing for the other POI's like cash machines and petrol stations.

Any help would be great.

Ok mate, thanks for that. I did not see any .midi files but there were icons there that implied they were mdia files. Several of them to be precise. I will justtransfer a few of them over and see what happens.

You shouldn't have any probs with this. Within each map folder there is one .midi file which will look like a REAL PLAYER file.

Let me know how you go.

Hi gain mate,

I most definately did not have any midi files in my folder. I delted the file and have just downloaded it again from a second source, still no midi files present for the GB and WE maps??

But at long last I have sucess!! GET IN !!! I downloaded the GB only maps and then the GUAM maps. When I un rar these files I can at long last see midi files for both. Having completed the keygen process I am now running TT6 with sucess on my N73!! Sweet as!! :win:

I still cannot use the maps with WE tho? Even after trying two different sites?

As a result of my past five nights of not giving up I have learnt a heap about this kind of thing. I had not even heard of a .rar file until the other day!

Also have never before done a Command Promt task before so well please with myself now.

As a pointer to some folks that may be getting stuck with the Command Promt part of the instructions...

When following Russels excellent instructions you make the same mistake as me and follow them word for word. As a complete previous novice I was wondering why it kept saying "cant open file". So I kept tring all kinds of options until I cracked it.

What you need to do is ...

Go to your keygen file on your desktop and right click on it then go to properties to find its exact location on your C: drive.

I then did it one section at a time to get to the correct location of the keygen file by typing cd <space><file position><enter>
That is in my case I first typed cd Documents and Settings
after enter you will see the file extension grow
then I typed cd DAVE
and after enter again the file extension grows to the next step

Just keep doing this with your actual file extension sections as detailed in the properties of your keygen folder and you will be laughing!! I know I was!

If I can do it then anyone car. But if you get stuck drop me a line and I will try expain things in simple terms as a novice. I had some top help from some folks on this board so would like to share with others if I can. Who knows I may even earn myself some of the good old Repute.

Let me know if the above helps anyone like it did me.

I am going to work on postcodes next but best get some kip first.

Also now subscribed to rapidshare but my password got lost and it wont send through again...DOH!!!

Install and run the guam map files first. Then just swap your map over to what ever map you want through TomTom menu on your phone. I had the same problem with GB maps until I did it this way. No need to delete your first maps though, just add the new one and it will give the option when you re run TomTom.

Good luck, I have had no sleep for five days me! LOL

Hi gain mate,

I am going to work on postcodes next but best get some kip first.

Also now subscribed to rapidshare but my password got lost and it wont send through again...DOH!!!

CheeRS all :drinkers:
Dave...

Dave,

Please note that if you have downloaded the latest maps from here then you already have the latest postcodes file. In your maps folders you should have a 'zip' folder in there you will find other folders and files. One of which will be / contain a file called 'great_britain.postal' File size is likely to be 9,834 KB. If so, you have the most recent file.

Hurrah! I finally have tomtom 6 working on my Nokia N80 thanks to trawling through this forum for the past two weeks. I must admit, the advice by Russell is well laid out. One CRUCIAL piece of advice. When transferring your files from PC to phone, do NOT use Nokia PC Suite. It always seems to mikss out on transferring some of the files. Instead, just put your phone in Data Transfer mode, and find your phones files from *My computer*. On the Nokia N80, go to menu>connectivity>data cable and select data transfer mode.

Thanks for all the help so far.

I would probably agree that it is bluetooth dropouts as it does eventually sort itself out, and it freezes in the same way if you move the GPS too far away from the phone. I didnt realise there was a newer version of the firmware for the N80. Took it into a Nokia Service centre a couple of days ago to get the firmware updated before I did this, and V3.0617.0.6 was what they put on!! Will get online and update it again.

Just to confirm is this where I need to get updated firmware from?

Ok, now in your phone go to the My own folder, in there you will find the tomtom icon. Click on it to start and it will ask you to select your preferences etc. Select the map you wish use and it will ask you activate it. Activate the map manually and it will give you a Device ID and ask for the activation code...

To install I just copy the files in the card in the computer, including the file with the Guam Map and another map (france i.e.) , then you put the card in the E61, and just run the program, not necesary the instalation.
Then will ask for the activation code you select manual, the phone will give you a code for installation. Run the keygen program, obtain the activation code, put the code in the phone and that it is.

Hello guys!

I have just installed TTM6 on my iMate SP5 but I have some doubts about it. I think it's for PPC not for smartphone. However, it works but some preferences are impossible to change without touch screen.

So, I want to ask you guys, is there any *.cfg or something like that file wich can be manually edited?

I can't change the most important option, COM port for GPS device. In bluetooth options, as outgoing port I can use only COM6 or COM7. In TT preferences I can't even see COM7, only 1,2,6,IR and 9. So, I would really like to know is there any "manual" way to do this.

Also, status bar can't be edited by smartphone keyboard or joypad too.

Or, as a last hope, do you maybe have *.exe file only for TT mobile 6 6.010 version.

Thank you VERY much for your answer!

As I say though, it didnt work first time using V3.0617.0.6 as it kept getting bluetooth dropouts, so would definately recommend making sure you have the newest version of firmware!!

I hope that Tomtom will release some newer then 5.20 version of Tomtom mobile, only bad thing is that this actual version can't recognize new maps, software is OK as is.

I unpacked the files onto my mini SD, followed all instructions, as in the prime post described and still no luck in getting TT to work on my E61 firmware 14-07-06 (seems to be the latest firmware). Has anyone with an E61 got TT to work? If so, please tell me how you did it.

Guy, try to activate Guam Map (only 300 Kb) on your MMC card,
after that all others maps you put on never ask for activation code.
Never delete Guam Map is necessary for your future work.

how did you do this? doesn't work for me... every time I add a map, I need to do the keygen for the new map.

Upgrading your phone's firmware may help - check it out on the nokia site to see if you have the latest version.

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!

help guys i cant seem to get this bit to work
comes up with TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command operable program or batch file

Excellent upload :)

I've installed it and it is running ok however I do have one problem. When in demo mode or during live use the screen update freezes every time a voice prompt is heard, the screen then jumps to update to the correct position. I've tried deselecting POI etc but nothing makes any difference. No other apps are open on the phone.

I'm using a N73 and tried the install on my friends N73, both do the same thing. I'm on the latest FW version and my friend is on a older version. My Mini Sd is a SanDisk Ultra II 2gb.

When I try and install through private it says file corrupted...What do I need to do......any help would be appreciated....thanks Ben

First we need to know what phone you are using. As this has worked for so many members I'd guess you have got something slightly wrong during your installation - try deleting everything & start from the beginning again.
I did notice you said you copied the map folder to the same location as your keygen - which is not right either - it is only the 'your_map_name.mid file' you need in the same folder as your keygen.

hi all, :ilove:

nokia N73 which i bit the bullet by using nemesis and nokia uploader to update the firmware to the music edition.

well i have waded through many a forum, downloaded a multitude of TT, and umpteen formats of my 2gig card, and to no avail.
BUT here i step straight into a mountain of help and information, and as i read through the whole thread i managed to find the answers to all my questions without once posting, and i am at this time a happy bunny with a good installation. albeit that because i am only testing and so until i had it installed, i have yet to get the bluetooth gps receiver.

Notes, i followed the prime post, not to the letter, but by incorporating my addresses to the files, otherwise did exactly as posted, noted in passing that if you unzipped the folder to the card you must then unpack the folder into the root of the card.

i also used the mass storage choice to transfer the files, seems to much quicker, and the files that did not go over before did this time.

extracted the card and put it back in, and what do you know, it started installing automatically.

working on the gb map, used the key gen, and b-----r it did not activate, so started reading again, and found the guam trick, bustled back to my phone, loaded this, worked the magic, and whoopee i have now a map, oh b------r, how do i change to the gb map, came back on here, and got the clue to look for manage maps, hustled back and there you go, the gb map come up without any problems, no need for activation, so i will heed the poster who suggested it and will not delete the guam folder.

so this is where this tale stops for the moment, i will have to wait until the fairies have been to see if i can get a bluetooth gps before i venture onto the path of enlightenment again

regards
voith

Hi,

Can you pls give more details which file I need to run in the phone to get the device ID.

Thanks

This version is a working version for the Nokia S60v3 handsets - Thanks to a few other members on here for uploading the files posted below. So far this has been reported as working on the Nokia N80 & N73, but NOT on the N91.
Hopefully this guide is a little bit clearer on how to install TT6, but I can't try it myself as I've only got a n70

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VOLJS3G3

No maps were included so here's a link for the GB PLUS map originally uploaded on here by 'Twingo'

GB Plus Map V6.50 (UK + Major Roads Of W. Europe) (@176mb)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MPD7NQTY

Or here is the Great_Britain Map V650.1111 (@97mb) I've just uploaded

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=NZ47R2H5

Go to the command prompt on your PC and enter the Device ID in and press enter - the activation code will pop up and that's it !!

thank you for the detail installation from first page and links to all the software.
After reading and reading all the posts and problem which someone might have. Finally I'm be able to install TomTom 6 to my Nokia N80 plus North America map including Guam map. It's working after a few hours of scratching my head. Here is how ??
1. download the tomtom 6 program files, keygen, Guam map and North America map.
2. Just to make sure, I did go to Start > Control Panel >Folder Option
click View and check Show hidden files and folders. (may not nesesscerry)
3. open My computer > C: drive and open a New Folder, name it <keygen>
4. Now unrared keygen file in to the new folder, C:> keygen> TT6_kg_4CPda.exe (not like this C:> keygen > TT6_keygen > TT6_kg_4_CPda.exe)
5. Next unrared TOMTOM_6.010 in this case My desktop, which I got
desktop> tomtom_6.010 >tomtom_6.010 > lots of folder and exe. files
6. Next unrared Guam Map in this case My Desktop, which I got desktop> Guam > Guam > lots of Dat files and Guam.mid file

since I'm here, so I'm copy Guam.mid file to My Computer > C:/ > keygen > TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe , guam.mid (just 2 files only)
7. Next North_America Map but make sure you put all of them (5 rar files) into the same folder, in this case My Desktop, which I got desktop>North America> NM 1-5 rar files, then I'm unrared the North America 1 first in the same inside folder and It will automatic unrared the rest of them and put them in the same folder North_America, so I will have desktop > North_America> North_America 1-5 rar files and North_America folder which inside contain a lots of DAT files and North_America.mid file.
8. Now it' time to set up the installation. Which I did upgrade my Nokia N80 firmware to the latest. Have my card reader/writer ready with my 2 GB Mini SD card.
> go to TomTom_6.010 folder and open it until I will see a lots of folder and exe. files. Then < select all> and copy them to Mini SD card.
like this My computer > Removable Disk (G:) > lots of folder and exe. files.
(NOT this My computer > Removable Disk (G:) > tomtom_6.010 > lots of folder and exe. files)
> go to Guam map folder (last folder before shown lot of Dat files and guam.mid, then I will copied the that folder and put it in the Mini SD card.
which I will get My computer > Removable Disk (G:) > lots of Folder etc.
2577, license, palm, private, raster, tomtom home......and Guam (folder).
9. Now after put tomtom 6.010 and Guam map in MINI SD card then I put it in the NOKIA n80, phone will start install automaticlly.
Go to My Own > tomtom then click OK, it will open the first time and will ask me for input and phone will give you Device ID (make sure my phone have enough battery to go through the procedure), stop right there and go to the computer.
10. Now time to get the Key for the Phone, GO to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt . Then type this at each prompt :
cd C:\
cd keygen
TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe(space)guam.mid
ENTER and will ask you for Device ID code from my Nokia n80
ENTER and computer will give me a Activation Code for my Nokia N80
11. Now put all the code, it will congrat and be able to use guam map..
At this moment, I can't get an option to Switch Map after I copy North America folder to Mini SD card. After hours of frustrating.
So I put back my Mini SD card in the Card Reader/Writer and rename Guam folder to (anything!!) and Rename my North America folder to <Guam > instead. Then I put the Mini SD card back into the phone and open Tomtom icon again. Now it will ask me to choose map (guam or north america) so I pick North America map(regarding of rename the folder name, I think it doesn't matter, just content inside the folder)
Wowwww...it's start to ask me a question and give me Device ID again..
so redo the activation key again .
By copy my North_America.mid to my keygen folder and start step 10 - 11again but make sure it.
TT6_kg_4_C4Pda.exe(space)north_america.mid
This time it shown option for Manage my map..in the preference options.

Then it's time to set up the Nokia N80 with my Holux 236 Bluetooth GPS and set my preference..and worked Perfectly...
Thanks to alls for the input.

[QUOTE=Russell1;1052177]

Once you have it unrar all the files either onto your PC or directly to the memory card of the phone (can use a card reader).

After that copy what ever map/maps you want to have onto the card.

QUOTE

Doesn't it work by copying the files directly into the phone with Pc Suite (of course after unrar-ing) ?

Hey guys, i have been reading through the install and is havin some trouble, with 2 parts, the first part is cant find Great Britian file, could you tell me exactly what files you copied and pasted into the "keygen" folder and then what you wrote to access them (do you copy the whole folder or the file similar to realplayer (have something that looks like quicktime??)
Also could you say how you found tomtom on your phone, ive copied and pasted the files via data transfer but cant find tomtom on "my own" folder ( i did install and unistall tomtom before), wil i have to format the memory card and start over again, and from the above post, do i need to find a a separate installer for tomtom

sorry for all the questions, cheers for any help advice given

Type in "cd keygen" not "c:>keygen" - see the image in the keygen file you only need to enter what is underlined with a green line.

hi all,
after a frustrating week, i in my wisdom decided to uninstall, and delete my 6.010 and try out one of the new touted versions for symbian (my phone is a n73) what a waste of time, around and around i went, formatting my card umpteen times, and sods law came in dog tired, decided i will try again, formatted my card, oh b--l--cks, just lost a set of important photo's i had not backed up. gnash my teeth, even to the point of thinking of buying TT, i had a last ditch thought, reload the phone firmware, well blow me down with a feather, the 6.010 loaded on restart.

so the moral of the story is, if you are having problems installing, do a reinstall of the phone firmware first, it might help

Folder with map copy to your root folder of memory card f.e. E:\Map

voith driver
4th April 2007, 02:12
hi poolfan,
i am not sure about the above advice, but in my n73 my maps are in their own named folders in the root, ie
folder name UK_and_IE_plus_major_roads_of_WE

but make sure that you do not still have a folder within this called the same, this happens on most downloaded map rars or zips.

so in the main root of your card you will have all the folders for tomtom and then all the folders of the maps you have, ie guam and UK_and_IE_plus_major_roads_of_WE to name the initial two for a uk user
hope this helps

4th May 2007, 11:57
 :???:

Well, first time on here and I'm stuffed!
I read the first post by Russell1... followed it to the letter. Fantastically clear... wish this was around when I had my N70.

I even added my own V660 UK and Eire Map.

Put the Mini SD into my phone and NOTHING!!
I cannot find any files whatsoever in Applications, My Folder... anywhere.. checked every folder on the phone just in case!

So I read on... and on... and on.

Found the Guam Map idea (Seen this before used on the GO's!!).... tried that... and still NOTHING!!

I have checked my Mini SD Card.. I can see all the files from the Original Download (12 Folders and 5 Files) and also my 2 Map Folders (Guam & UK/Eire).
I have checked the phones own FILE MANAGER when the card is inserted and can see all the folders and files (except for Private, Resource and Sys - I think these are Hidden Files) so I used Moby Explorer to check they were there - and they are!!

I know the Keygen will work as I have used it on a TT GO before so it's pretty universal and works well.

So apart from formatting the phone is there anything else can try??
If not, after backing up my phone memory, and I press *#7370" and it wipes my phone, how do you restore everything back to the phone? Or is this automatic.

Hope someone can help me...cos I miss this!!!
Cheers
Steve

Quick update on this.....

Just did the reset of the phone (after backing up to the memory card of course) and the phone has gone back to it's basic "as new" look!
Disgusting!!

Anyway, perused the files and NOTHING. Still no sign of bloody TomTom anywhere, so I have restored the back up I did back onto the phone...

Still nothing there!!
I can still see the files when I explore the memory card... but can't do a thing with them!!

Looks like it's going to cost me £70.00 if I can't get it working....
Whats more annoying, I had this on my N70 before I gave it to my son... and that was a"shared" version that worked first time!!!

Any help would be great!
Cheers

Hi Voith...
Sorry, bit misleading on my last post!

When I said "Can't find my GPS Receiver though..... anyone??"

I meant I phsically can't find it...
I have been using a GO for about 18 months, but now I have a phone with a decent screen, decided that the mobile version would be good!

I was just asking asking "anyone??" in case they had a spare.

My next project is to get the voices working for the speed cameras on it, and I desperately want to get Vicky Archers voice for navigation. So if you have any ideas here, they'd be appreciated.

I have stacks of voices for my GO, but I beleive the phone uses 16000 Khz unlike the 22050Khz on the GO. Is that right??

If this software doesn't auto install when you put your card into your device then copy the following.

I'm assuming you have already unzipped the folder to your PC (probably DESKTOP)
Open the tomtom6 folder on your desktop PC
Open the folder named Private on your desktop PC
Open the folder 10202dce <------ this could be a different number but check all three folders
Copy the file TomTom-NAVIGATOR_S60_3_0_v_6_0_1_7640_PA which is a SYMBIAN .sis installer file to your SD CARD - (NOT THE PRIVATE FOLDER IF YOU CAN SEE THE PRIVATE FODLER ON YOUR SD CARD)

Place the SD CARD back in your SYMBIAN device.

Then using your phone explore to your memory(SD CARD) and find the file you have just copied TomTom-NAVIGATOR_S60_3_0_v_6_0_1_7640_PA

Click on it and VOILA

Once you have done this please ensure you have the map copied to your SD Card else it wont work.

try cd \..
note the space between cd and "\.."

then cd c:\

if it doesn't work then find the D: folder and have keygen put in there.

if some people are having trouble installing the software onto there phone, it is because the first download has a file missing in the 'tomtom' folder, you'l need to get a folder called 'Munich.bin' and copy n paste into the tomtom folder

PS:
N73 Latest Firmware

when transferring the files over to your phone are you using pc suite, if so don't, when you connect the data cable to your n73 select the mass storage option rather than pc suite, it will then appear in 'My Computer' as a directory, mine was 'G:\', double click this and copy all the files over to this, as this will be your memory card,
