View Full Version : Best Anti-Spyware Software? hydra 25th September 2006, 21:27 Could someone recomended the best Anti-Spyware Software that is very usefull...there are so much Anti-Spyware Software out there...which one is the best? Thanks.. Monster_Flower 26th September 2006, 01:08 i recommend spyware doctor and mcafee antispyware. some spyware cannot be detected by spyware doctor but can be detected using mcafee and vice versa. i both use it on my computer. zeze 26th September 2006, 01:34 I use Windows Defender and Avast on one PC, Windows Defender and Mcafee on another. Haven't had problems on either PC. gql 26th September 2006, 08:34 webroot's spy sweeper works pretty good.. have been trying different ones.. this is the best so far. nandakumar.k 26th September 2006, 10:02 webroot's spy sweeper is great, if you want free anti spyware then go for lavasoft adaware, its good hydra 26th September 2006, 10:08 how about spybot? Is it good? anyone tried before? zeze 26th September 2006, 18:52 Every month or so I used run Ad-aware and then Spybot. Spybot sometimes used to catch things that ad-aware missed but like I said I haven't really had any problems since I installed the apps listed above. Neither program (as far as I know) has a monitoring feature in the free version so they're only helpful after the fact... hydra 26th September 2006, 19:14 So, should i have both of the software mr. zeze? nandakumar.k 26th September 2006, 19:36 @hydra, i dont think mr.zeze mentioned of installing both, what he meant is that spybot does a good job better than ad-aware hydra 26th September 2006, 19:50 Oh okey...Thanx nandakumar.k emm...how abt you? you'r using Spybot too? zeze 26th September 2006, 19:57 I don't think it's necessarily better, it just tends to catch certain things that ad-ware might miss (at least back when I used them). The opposite is true also though - ad-aware caught things that spybot would miss... Since both apps have free versions available, you should install both. In terms of usage I would run them each at least once a month and any time you think you might have a problem. I would also install something with real time protection though, such as Windows Defender (free if you have a genuine OS). nandakumar.k 26th September 2006, 20:12 Oh okey...Thanx nandakumar.k emm...how abt you? you'r using Spybot too? i dont use any spy remover, all i use is EZ Antivirus and i have faced any spyware problem till now.... zeze 26th September 2006, 20:54 i dont use any spy remover, all i use is EZ Antivirus and i have faced any spyware problem till now.... Then you're clearly not visiting enough porn/warez sites!! ;) If you don't have a good hardware firewall and other means of network protection - and the knowledge to set it all up properly and effectively, a little spyware protection can never hurt. gt_thegame 27th September 2006, 21:11 i have used spybot but i shifted to ewido spyware... version 4 is posted on the forum... try it... i feel its the best... nandakumar.k 27th September 2006, 22:34 Then you're clearly not visiting enough porn/warez sites!! ;) If you don't have a good hardware firewall and other means of network protection - and the knowledge to set it all up properly and effectively, a little spyware protection can never hurt. i used to visit warez sites but i have been visiting these sites for last 7 years, so i know which sites to go and where to click to download the warez, but no porns zeze 28th September 2006, 00:15 No, I was just joking around. I don't visit many bad sites either so that is most of the reason why I don't ever have problems. :) nandakumar.k 28th September 2006, 10:44 No, I was just joking around. I don't visit many bad sites either so that is most of the reason why I don't ever have problems. :) @zeze, yeah i understand zeze, y visit the site and screw our system, cant live without my system for a day, so anything which might create problem i dont need it it a good practise to keep away bad things away from our system and u need cracks or serial no, ask in the forum, mods will help us to get one, let the pros handle the sites rajasv_red 3rd October 2006, 20:24 when i searched for best rated antivirus and spyware i found according to the rating 1)bitdefender2)kaspersky3)macafe.I used bitdefender and kaspersky and norton and macafe. Then found kaspersky is having very huge virus definitions and is the best. ad_insane 4th October 2006, 01:07 webroot's spy sweeper works pretty good.. have been trying different ones.. this is the best so far. One more voice for SpySweeper... Itīs great anti-spyware... Spyware Doctor is very good too.... tarunisgod 4th October 2006, 17:44 i want antispam and antiabuse ( mcafee ) . hydra 9th October 2006, 20:09 so, there will be no problem if using both different spyware is it? Ba5iL 10th October 2006, 15:26 I have Webroot Spysweeper and WindowWasher, Spybot S/D, Adaware, Advanced SpywareRemover, SuperCleaner, Tracks Eraser Pro, and Privacy Eraser Pro, and Mailwasher Pro aaaaaaaaand a couple of Registry Cleaners...phew! Hey!...Who is calling me paraoid? *looks behind chair* kianokranos 11th October 2006, 00:33 hi all, i think Ad-Aware SE Personal is the best of all. friendly kianokranos Shag69 11th October 2006, 04:18 How bout Ad-aware or SpyBot S&D? Or maybe Spyware Blaster which helps prevents spyware from even getting to your computer in the first place. These software will come in handy for you. fear-otaku 11th October 2006, 06:02 Just be careful what you download and install :), i use ad-aware and spybot s&d Stormrage 12th October 2006, 21:37 Well in my assessment, Spybot S&D v1.4 and Ad-Aware SE 1.06 is the best. They're like partners in busting out unwanted spyware and malware on our pc's. They have different cores so there are certain spywares that is unique only to both softwares. I also use Norton Antivirus 2006 for it also have the capability to detect certain malware and spyware programs (and of course those freakin viruses). Lastly I have Spyware Blaster v3.5.1 to protect my pc automatically teaming up with Spybot's Immunization core. Just try to combine different anti-spyware softwares to protect your pc. There's no harm in doing it unless you don't know what you are doing. :butthead: ad_insane 12th October 2006, 23:18 so, there will be no problem if using both different spyware is it? No, it wonīt be problems with 2 or even more antispywares... Sure, some small conflicts are possible but nothing serious... zaidam 18th October 2006, 16:11 I'm using NOD32 Antivirus + Spyware Doctor + Webroot Spy Sweeper + Spybot + Spyware Blaster + Ad-aware SE. I'm new to this forum. And from what i've read so far, one of the very few users of Zone Alarm. I have the internet security suite which has all in one i.e. Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Firewall, OS Firewall, Identity protection and IM security. I think it's one of the very few softwares that covers it all and does a fine job at it too. Feel free to contradict... princepavs 10th December 2006, 14:53 i'm usein EZ-anti virus, Ad-Aware SE Personal, Registry Mechanic & trojan remover n workkin quite fine... tarzan_kun 11th December 2006, 08:26 req serial number spy heal 2.1 plzzzzzzzz....... help me... nikolaos69 4th January 2007, 06:26 spy bot rocks!i have used many, paid versions as well, but i come to this!that spy-bot its one of the best UKSCOUSER 4th January 2007, 17:01 ARE WE EVER SAFE? I have the most up to date version of AVG internet security with firewall installed (All you will ever need to defend your system!!!!) and update daily, also have latest Trojan detection software installed. Alongside this i also run spybot search and destroy every couple of days. A few days ago i ran 'Full, Deep scan' test using AVG and then same using my 'bang up to date' trojan prog, No issues found!!! Then ran Spybot and to my amazement it found 3 Ghostloggers in a sync tool prog in program files folder. I then took all the required actions, ran all 3 of my viruscheck progs again and recieved a clean bill of health. Ater hearing this tale 30 minutes later, my brother sent me a virus prog he rates highly, called 'Spyware Nuker XT'. I installed this and decided to run it before updating it (prog gate: May 06). To my astonishment it found 5 ghostloggers (2 in same prog as earlier find) AND 4 Trojans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I had already suspected something was wrong due to the fact my Automatic Update appeared to have stopped working approx 1 week ago. After allowing Nuker to clean up, Automatic Update has suddenly returned (with 7 days of updates requiring download). I am fairly certain that if you run Nuker it 'WILL' find something that your present spyware detection has missed. Try it and see. -------------------------------- Spyware Nuker XT (Update enable) If you use link below you will download ver 3.3.12.2 , after downloading, install and use supplied serial to register. Then update to latest version and you will retain full usage. I BET IT FINDS SOMETHING!!!! Size: 3568 KB [Only registered and activated users can see links] superman 5th January 2007, 16:00 I like ad-aware, noadware v4, ccleaner, xoftspy-se. s4cr3d 5th January 2007, 16:22 I use AVG anti virus with fire wall,I have Ghostsufr platimium 2006 with spycatcher. My additional spyware is BulletProofSoft(bps adware & spyware remover). That's all I need to protect myself and my goldmine folders. All these can be downloadable at enfull.com and 9down.com cr0ssx21 20th January 2007, 20:09 I would recommend Nod32 for antivirus, Spybot w/ Tea Timer for antispyware, and Zonealarm for firewall when it comes to safety. I havent encountered any problems using these softwares for the past 8months now. Tried NAV for almost 8 years now, and its getting sluggish every version. Mcaffee is sleek, but isnt that good at screening virus, i know. AVG isnt that comprehensive either. All three doesnt have "true heuristic" engine, w/c is sad, coz its suppose to be part of the package that is being paid for. Just shouting out. teehee.. hasbull_88 23rd January 2007, 16:41 can we do a survey here? i also in confuse...which one is the best... hurm.. i use avg 7.5 internet security, ad-aware SE personal with spyware doctor is this ok? my Mcafee internet security need to register...cant update... ktoulg 28th January 2007, 21:02 Well i'm using Agnitum outpost firewall pro and some Symantec **** they're doin good!!! try them You have to find a crack for both though Veja Du 31st January 2007, 13:52 NEED HELP...........
