I just wanted to know that if downloading some illegal stuff from rapidshare is Safe or Not. Bcoz most of the files posted on rapidshare are illegal.There are people who are being sued by the RIAA in the U.S.
Even some of the latest music, movies, softwares are available in rapidshare.

Can we download these stuff just like that? Or will we be tracked down?
BTW, I am not from the U.S, I am from the middle east... I am just so scared that I need to know if it is safe to download such stuff from rapidshare or any such file hosting site?

Actually the RIAA lawsuits you talked about are based on p2p downloads,where there is no host involved...but its actually safer to download from RS because you can't be indicted directly,they'll have to initiate a lawsuit against Rapidshare first....

I read an article from the internet and it was all about tracking down a person using ip... It was mentioned that every click we make can be logged by the server. So if the admin staff from rapidshare finds out an illegal file in their server, they can easily point out the IPs and the time & date which the IP accessed the particular file from their server. This information is enough to trace out a common man sitting in his house, using his internet connection. This thing really freaked me out. And I also read about the RIAA and got pissed off...

But Its feels good to hear the answer from all the MODS that it is SAFE!!!
I am a frequent downloader.I download some movies and other stuff and thats why it scared the **** out of me... phew
