I am trying to connect an ipaq to my pc but the com ports are not showing in device manager. Have tried add new hardware but still no luck.

ipaq with windows mobile, you should use activesync to connect them up. As if you don't use it it is possible to prevent the phone from ever docking properly.

once you install that put the ipaq into the cradle and it should connect properly :)

your iPaq should be using usb cable not com port. please specify your iPaq model.. As fear-otaku said, you must first install the active sync, then only connect yr iPaq using the usb cable provided. Then yr pc will say new hardware detected and so on...
