This app is very slow in response on my Atom exec with WM6.1 the earlier version was also very slow.can anything be done for increasing the speed and responsiveness of this app.It is indeed a very cool app but speed is a major concern.hope the next release addresses this point.

Sorry, only files on youtube's website. It does not have a file search built-in to browse your local files. But it is really quick finding files on youtube. Best viewer I have found so far! Just install .cab and search!

It's cleaner than VTap but this app is best when you know what you want to look for on youtube. You can watch all youtube videos but it doesn't suggest vids to watch like vtap.

If you don't want your current messages to repopulate this app every time you soft-reset your PPC, remove all SMS's before you install this. Even if you delete them out of this app after first installed, they will show back up again....very slowly!!

I tried the VITO app and it was nice but it is really slow. This app is integrated just like it was on your PPC from the start. You will need to set it to threaded in the settings.

BTW...If you don't like this app and want to remove it, you shouldn't delete your SMS messages before you install this. It will take over you phones SMS but it will put it back exactly like it was before installed if you leave the old messages. I installed this, saw that I liked it, then uninstalled it and went to my original SMS inbox and sent messages folders and deleted all of the old messages, then re-installed the new app. Works like a charm!!!

works fine on HTC. Even graphics are displayed. Only drawback is there is no on screen keyboard. You can only use it if you have a hard keyboard with your mobile. Luckily my HTC P4350 has one so no problem otherwise I cant figure out how you can search anything.

Well figured it out. Once you click inside the search box the virtual keyboard becomes active. It is an excellent software with detailed browsing capabilities. Guys go for it. As far as saving an article is concerned as pointed by saksham, keep the stylus pressed on the screen. It gives a popup menu with options to save the article as doc file. Only hitch is that images have to be clicked and saved separately. They dont get saved with the article.

This is a small program made in Flash to emulate a fullscreen virtual keyboard.

This keyboard is fullscreen and always seen in horizontal way (landscape).

It requires Flash 7 installed in your Pocket PC.

You can customize the:

- Text color
- Keypad Skins
- Background image
- Pre-made personal sentences
- English version

You have three screens with keys:

- Normal
- Capital letters
- Special characters

In all of them you can delete the last character, erase all the text or COPY, this last key has two effects:

- Places all the copied text in memory
- Closes the application

Afterwards, you can choose where to paste the text, either on a SMS, a note, email, or any other application where you can use the PASTE command (or CTRL+V).

To configure the keys sound just alter the IDsom line in mydata.txt
You may also change that on screen.

Do note that some keys. to help the witting process, jumped to the first screen so that the user could continue witting, keys such as é ã ó, etc.

If, for some reason its not there, then search your Pocket pc with a explorer software to seek out where your temp folder is.

You can make a skin yourself, just use the example in the EXTRAS folder. It needs to be a 230x320 JPG file placed in the Storage CardTempFlashKeys folder with the name back.jpg
In case your screen is rotated you need a second file named back2.jpg

If, by any reason you need to exit the fullscreen, you can close the application with the COPY key, pressing the new minimiza buttton above the volume or press ENTER on you keypad (the button in the middle of the directionals keys).

Place the EXE file where ever you want, make a shortcut or call it with a defined key on your Pocket PC, its your choice.

Actually it's the rewrite in native of ContactManager, a .NET version of a finger friendly contact.

* It can be used with fingers, no need to get your stylus. This application is a fullscreen keyboard (in flash) but with BIG keys!
It shows only half a QWERTY keyboard, to see the other half you need to press the right or left key in your keypad (in landscape mode) or click the area where you see the preview of the hidden keys.
To use SPACE press the ENTER key or UP on your keypad, to delete a character press the red button < or DOWN on your keypad.
The red X key deletes all the text.

There are other screens, for the numbers, special characters and accentuation (for the Portuguese language).
The special characters and accentuation, after used, jump immediately to the default keyboard.
The punctuation keys place a space immediately after themselves.

When you are done writing press the GREEN key, the text is copied to the memory and the application closes itself. Now you can PASTE the text anywhere you like, to an SMS, a word file, a note, etc...

In the beginning it's hard to use, but when you finish the first sentence you are fully adapted to it.

The best method to use this program is to associate a button to it (through Settings->Buttons).

How is it easier in terms of 'Access'?? The answer is self explainatory (at least to me anyway). The more places something is posted, the easier the access and to obtain. As opposed to something only being posted in one or two places, and less people will know about it. There's been quite a few times google has come out with something for mobile phones I missed and if it wasnt for Ipmart, I would've missed it.
Now as far as the differences between this and previous version, I noticed with this version you can set/create "Favorites" and the panning/zooming is somewhat smoother. I as imagine as time passes and google maps continously get updated, the larger the application becomes, (as with 99% of apps overall).

i guess this should be posted in Freeware thread.. but if its a v2.1.0.10 as claimed by robosiris, then its already posted quite some time ago..

I created this cab to be used in my Himalaya WM6.1. I keep this in the ExtROM (SD Card) so that I don’t have to re install this every time I hard reset or upgrade my ROM through new builds.

This CAB will install the following software and tweaks:

1. Jbed Java-VM
2. Opera mini 4.1 (build.11320, 2008-05-14)
3. Signing Opera mini as trusted
(So that annoying confirmation prompts to network
Connection and to Saving/uploading files is removed.
4. Direct shortcut for opera mini in Start->Programs->Internet.
Shortcut for Jbed under Start->Programs->Accessories
5. Nice opera icon for the shortcut & to be used in the today launchers.

Pros:
Traditionally to do this all you had to transfer several files and do several taps and clicks on your PPC & PC, but with this you can do them all by just tapping the CAB.

You can add this cab to your Extended ROM or add the files as an OEM to your ROM in cooking, so after each hard reset your favorite browser is available right there. You can simply synchronize the bookmarks in two taps.

You don’t need to install any other JVM, ‘cos this already installs Jbed, the best full screen JVM that also supports soft keys. Try some Nokia s60-v3 games on it…

Cons:
You may have to reinstall your java applications is you are using Jbed as your midlet manager already.

NOTE: make a backup of the folder “APPDB” which may either in your Jbed installation folder or under WINDOWS. If you wish to remove this application and want to restore the previous apps, simply restore this folder.

If you are already using Jbed and hundreds of other JAVA software too, you may prefer the tweaks but not to loose the other software. If that’s the case you can follow the steps I have described and apply them and copy the Cab in to your Extended ROM so that it will only take effect after your next reset.


Signing Opera mini as trusted…

One of the only negatives of using Jbed, over Jeodek, used to be that any time an application wanted to access to the Internet, Jbed would ask twice if you want to allow the action. It will also forget this permission next time you ran the application, so you would have to give permission every time you ran a Midlet that tried to access the Internet.
Thank GOD, a work around for this annoyance has been found!

1.) Copy the file \windows\appdb\selector.utf to your PC
(Make sure to backup this file first in case something goes wrong!)
2.) Remove read-only attribute
3.) Extract the file “sign_operamini.exe ” From my zip to the same folder and run it.
4.) It will patch the ‘selector.utf’ and create a backup too.
5.) Now replace the ‘selector.utf’ file in the pocket PC with the patched.
6.) DONE




Making a direct shortcut to Opera Mini…
(or any other Java Midlet)

Since Opera Mini is a Java Midlet application, one annoying aspect is that to run Opera Mini, you must first run the Java Midlet, tap on the "Applications" list item, then tap on the "Opera Mini 4 beta" item. Luckily, some users out there have figured out how to create a shortcut that launches Opera Mini (or any other Java app) directly. Assuming you haven't installed any other Java apps, you need to create a shortcut file (e.g., opera.lnk) pointing to


("\windows\jbed.exe -run s0_")


The magic portion is the number after the letter "s" in the shortcut target. This is the list position of the Java Midlet in the Jbed application list. If you install Jbed as a fresh install and then directly install Opera Mini, just use the number "0" to refer to Opera Mini ("\windows\jbed.exe -run s0_"). If you install another MIDlet (after Opera Mini), its index will become 1, then the next installed Midlet will have an index of 2, and so on. The last installed MIDlet will have the last index.

So go to any text editor and create the link, the replace the extension TXT with LNK.

Which one did you use? The cab or the tweaks collection? The cab only installs the midlet s0_ But the Signing patcher patches all midlets as signed midlets.

You know that the google maps contains few PETA bytes of data! Even just the data of the infrastructure obtains 500terabyte! I dont think you can store ıt on your devıce however :P

Ya, its true, its damn huge, even for my citi itself, it takes up almost 2GB of SD space. I used a firefox plugin to rip the Google map image of the entire map area covering my city. this image is infact a rip of a specific internet link, so this rip can be read using internet explorer, hence it will still retain the zoom in and zoom out function, and other functions of google map, etc. But the file is gigantic even for my PC to load, so dont mention about PPC.

So what I really ask is, if there is any software out there that will selectively load partial of the compressed map when we scrool above that area? OFcoz we wont need to have the whole world's map to store in our device, just a few locations or countries.

Well, I live in Mexico and am happily using Skyfire since a few weeks ago!

Maybe this will work for you too!...

The only thing I did is that when I subscribed to the Beta program, they asked for my cell phone number (which of course won't work as I'm located in Mexico), so I used a USA land line number instead, the email I used was the correct one though.

After about two months Skyfire.com sent me an email stating that they where unable to send me an SMS with the URL of the download but they provided a web url for me to proceed to download the file through my web browser, which I did and now I've been using it without problems.

Remember it's still Beta 2 so it has bugs and performance issues, but it really works wonderfully. However, it hasn't replaced my favorite browser (Opera Mini) but I use to browse those sites where flash is a must (Wal-Mart, BestBuy ads, etc).

Try to subscribe and be patient!

Having heard lots of juicy gossip and seen pictures of the new Windows Mobile 7 OS, I'm itching to have a play with it. Unfortunately for me (and everyone else) it's not due out until 2009. Until then, why not give your OS an overhaul by revamping the interface?

Poorlyduck's Vista Suit allows you to skin your Windows Mobile operating system to make it look like its bigger brother, Vista. The customisations come in the form of a Zip file with a series of folders that contain new skins for different areas of the OS. The enhancements include a Vista Action screen, Commanger, Calculator, Audio manager, Cube, Today theme, and more.

Installing everything onto your device takes a while and is a little complicated because you need to make sure that the files and folders are copied into the correct directories in Windows Mobile. There are text files with instructions inside each of the enhancement folders though, and the details are pretty clear.

Once you've got everything installed at setup the new skins are pretty impressive and while they don't replicate Vista exactly, they certainly provide a flavour of the latest Windows desktop OS. Particular favourites of mine are the dialer, which adorns your on-screen keypad with shiny Vistaness; the Vista Audio Manager, which makes it much easier to organise your music; and the gorgeous Windows Media Player skin.

If you've got the patience and know-how to configure it, Poorlyduck Vista Suit is the perfect way to make your Pocket PC look like a new desktop PC!

This is freeware and can be downloaded from the vendor's website. It's not bad, but doesn't display all webpages properly - particularly gmail where it just hangs at the end of the loading bar then closes. Seems pretty quick though, after a quick play.

First of all thanks to subpro ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) and everyone before him who developed iContact. I know subpro is actively developing and improving iContact so you might ask why I wrote my own version. Basically there were specific features I knew subpro would never add (like Contact pictures). Also I loved this program and couldnt wait till the next version . I have a very busy schedule and thus my response to requests or further development will be very limited if there will be at all. Also since I wrote the enhancements through the weekend it is not very well tested nor am I sure about it is compatibility on all platforms. But I am pretty sure it usually works on WM 6.1 QVGA . Let me know if it is working on other platforms.

Known issues
- Looks very small on VGA screens probably not usable
- It is not working on WM

Firstable sorry for the delay, Ive been busy doing other things. This HTC dialer skin made from HTC OEM pack you can find it in [Only registered and activated users can see links] its very simple skin inspired by diamond, I know there is to many dialer skins but most of them has bugs or speed dial not working so I went ahead and skinned the HTC OEM dialer like I did with my vista skin, This is a not a program that I created myself, this the original HTC Dialer skinned, I did some registry editing to get the icons show in the progress and also changing the colors of the text and selection, so please dont be asking me question concerning the program itself becaue I did not make it, Im just a skinner, if you have any issue concerning the HTC dialer not working in your device, put your question in the thread mentioned above. anything about the graphics Im ready to answer your questions.

- Made a black Dialer skin, Remember, this skin is from HTC OEM dialer linked above, means if the HTC dilaer works for u, then this will with no problems.

Not To do list:

- 3G Dialer with video call as I dont have a 3G device, I looked in the original graphic files and its totally different, So Im skipping this one, sorry guys.
- VGA Version of this dialer as I dont own VGA device to test.

A web-page has been created for iContact BE, where you can find detailed information along with downloads, sources and screenshots: iContact Burt Edition page.

Changes:

- Added Pictures support, both in list and in details. Even in Call History!
Pictures are loaded in a background so speed impact is quite small.
Refer to new settings ShowPicturesInDetails, ShowPicturesInList, ShowPicturesInCallHistory, EnablePicturesTransparency, CacheListPictures, DelayedPictureLoading

- Lists are now updated on actual changes in Pocket Outlook databases or on actual CallLog change, no unnecessary updates, no pauses
- Contact details/lists are properly updated on creating/modifying/deleting contacts

- Added keyboard search in Favorites, set EnableFavoritesSearch option to 1 in settings.ini

- Contacts on SIM card can now be shown in Contacts List when ShowSimContacts=1 in settings.ini
Two menu options available for SIM contacts: add to Outlook contacts and run Outlook to manage them

- Virtual Scrollbar tap width is now configurable through ListScrollbarWidth option in skn file
- Virtual Scrollbar Indicator is shown at the right side of the list, indicating current position in the list
To hide it, set ListScrollbarIndicatorWidth=0 in your .skn file

- Details screen reworked, icons are used instead of item type labels now
New fields added in Details (company, birthday, all known phone numbers, fax numbers, URL, instant messenger numbers, home & business addresses, nickname)
Contact Notes can be displayed in Details when ShowNotesInDetails=1 is set in settings
Long names are now splitted in two lines in Details

- It is now possible to jump to contact details from Call History item details when a contact is known
It can be done by pressing a 'Person' menu button next to 'Back' button
If contact is unknown, it can be added to contacts by pressing the same button (small plus sign will be shown on that button)

- SKIN LAYOUT CHANGED, update your existing skin files before applying them to this version!
P.S. 'burt' skin has been renamed into 'default' skin, old 'default' skin removed, since they were alike
- Many new skin options to support VGA mode and skinning
- New 'White' skin is available, made by HaiLe512! Credits go to Lycox and mcmike_Cz
- VGA skin 'default_vga' is available! Replica of default skin for VGA screens.

- german.lng included, thanks to Oliver Fischer

- Click at the top-left corner in contact details now goes back to contact list as it was once before (configurable through DetailsBackAreaSize in skin)

- Click at the top-right corner now minimizes/closes the app both in list and details (configurable through MinimizeAreaSize skin option)

- Faster loading time (including, like in supbro's version, showing main window prior loading contacts)
