The Map have 1,9 Gigabyte.it is 1 Map for the Hole Europe.

I've just tried to install route66 to my E61 but it showed error (App.closed: Mobile7 ETEXT 18). What should I do? Is this something related to the activation.dat file? I've tried to find the activation.dat files in this thread but the link has been dead. Can someone please re-upload the file?

Open your activation.dat file using notepad (after choose Data Transfer mode) and enter 16 character for example:169d753req643h20 then save. After that, run your Route66 and voila.... :-):supz:

Unknown date of the map: Probably Q2/2006

The map contains the DACH-map with all the details and a Europe-map without details. It is like a merged DACH-EuropeMR map.

Edit: On an N91 it has some memory issues, like with the complete Europe map. See here: [Only registered and activated users can see links] and for the map of europe with all the details this post [Only registered and activated users can see links]

Edit 2: I have a "fix" for the memory issue on the N91 with long routes through different countries. By using Handy Taskman from Epocware it works even with (very) long routes! Handy taskman takes care, that there is always enough RAM so the application is still working.

Edit 3: It still has issues with really long routes, but those work best if R66 is started right after reboot of the phone, because then memoryavailability is max. But, the issue is not so bad, because no one drives 20 hours or more without pausing within. I guess the battery won't even last that long ;-)

just transfer maps and stuff via pc suite and using usb cable(in mass storage mode) so u dont really need card reader.....using a file explorer after installation >>>

it won't work cause this version is for symbian (nokia's own mobile phone software) and your W850i's software is Proprietary

so it will never work... you need a ppc or a symbian smartphone.
as far as i know is the samsung D720 the only other phone with symbian software but nokia..

First copy folder <ROUTE66> to your card's path (E:\System\Apps\ROUTE66)
If using bluetooth, copy the folder to the general E:, then using
some file explorer-I used freeware Sysexplorer by NEWLC and worked fine,
cut and paste the folder to the path mentioned before.
If using card reader just enable <Show hidden files and folders> from your
windows tools-->folder options and you will be able to see the whole path in your
card (E:\System\Apps\ROUTE66).

Next, copy the map (*.prm file) you want to use in the folder Maps in the ROUTE66
folder. The exact path is E:\System\Apps\ROUTE66\maps

Then you'll have to run the mobile7.sis (installation program).
You can either copy it to your card and run it from there or-if you are using
Nokia PCSuite run it from your computer by double clicking it.

Now your ROUTE66_mobile7 is ready to work.
When you try to open it you'll see that an activation code is needed.
You just have to copy the ActivationKey.dat in the E:\System\Apps\ROUTE66 folder.

At last you are ready to use your free copy of Route66!
I tried it with N80 and Athens map and works fine.
All files needed are included in the forum.

The N95 built-in GPS receiver is hard-wired to work only with Maps (but not the other way round ;)): you have to wait for Route66 or TomTom to release a specific N95/E90 version that can access the built-in receiver or use an external one.

i did it with Wincommander wich has it's on archive manager. just right click on the first part of the archive and click "Extract Here". that shoud do it. or i suppose tat it's the same with wincommander too :). And i downloaded all the maps via torrent. the name of the torrent is "route 66 mobile 7" it's 2.10gb but u can download only the maps that interest you. Hpe this helps. :p

Try 7-Zip File Archiver ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), it is FREE and it does the trick. It is a good one for a freeware, works fine and easy to use.

Hi! I have a N73 and I am using the route66 with a QSTARZ GPS reciever.
The problem is that the connection last only for 8 minutes. After that the connection is closed and I have to reset the reciever to regain connection. Does anyone have an answer for this?

I hope someone might be able to help me as I really don't know what I need to navigate with Route 66?
I got the program installed on my N91 with SA map, got in and everything, but how do I navigate or find a route from one place to another?
Another thing, it keeps on saying NO GPS, I went into preferences and chose my smartdata connection in GPRS, but N91 doesn't have GPS??? What now?
Do I need to get myself a Bluetooth GPS Receiver or would it work without it, maybe use GPRS??
Please someone try to help or tell me what I need, or what am I doing wrong?

Do you know from when the europe map is? Maybe you know the date of the file. Superdancer's europe.prm has the date 9. November 2006

Afaik its 2006 Q2. But this is the only i can find with Russia and working on symbian.

Edit: if you mean 1.9Gb Europe.prm, it older, 2005 Q4.

Yes, I meant the europe.prm. I have the one from superdancer (when the rapidsharelinks were up and going) and it seems to be 2006 Q2 as it was ripped from the "Chicago" PNA. Thx for looking!

Hi Guys, Any chance of an idiot's guide : To get Route66 on my Nokia N91.

Copied the files in Mass Storage mode etc. etc. Tried installing the .sis file via Nokia data suite and continue install on phone, before install finishes - message displayed 'Expired Certificate'.

Cant see the application on the phone at all, HelllllllllllllP !!!!!!!!!

i have a dutch version so i try to tanslate it
but when i go to settings,navigation,standard gps i can those of no standard gps,kpn internet,mobile startsite and kpn mms
kpn is my provider and i see i have version 7.03(468) is this ok?

Did anyone have success installing custom POI? It seems that those files should be installed in <card_name>:\POIS\<map_name>\*.* Where <map_name> is the map filename that we use (E.g. Britain for Britain.prm).

At least on my installation this is not working. Have anyone succeed in making it ?

Sry for the off-topic but anyway to save the Favorites from a place i've searched ? In other words I want to be able to save them on my computer. Anyone know where are they located on the phones main memory ? Im not referring to the waypoints.

Can anyone please re-upload these files posted by Daz, as I need to install this to my N91 but these files are no longer available on this link.

I have tried everything else with the existing posts and attachments and hope that if I manage to get these files that I can get it to work.

if i try that, route66 exits.

u make a folder called maps in the route 66 folder then put map in
if the program exists when u open it plug phone in pc select mass storage go in the route 66 folder u will see a file saying activation bla bla open this with notepad then put in the from the end [Only registered and activated users can see links] or any other thing u like save and exist then disconnect phone then try shud work no probs

i have tomtom working with BinPDA to use the internal gps reciever, so i will only try and install this if somebody know fo sure that it will work.

Same problem hereon n91.

I have installed the app.
copied the files to the memory card,
and installed Iberia as a map for testing the program.

it gave me that error.

so i did the sameas others and cpied the 'ActivationKey' into the route66 directory, but still get the same error.

Can someone please share with me what the trick is to make this work ???
