You damn right brother. I thought an non beta navigation app (the tomtom version we all use here is just a beta and I dont know how fast the final release is) is more faster. And the menu structure of tomtom is much better too.

So if like it use it.

First of all i think we have here a dubble post. The second is i tryed the both installations but still getting the following error! But i can't get it to work on a 3250, when i put the map in the folder maps the app closes when started and when i put the map in the root of the sdcard i get resource erro, resources missing. Can anyone give little more detailed info about where to put the folder system and the map? Thanks!

The map is in the E:system/apps/route/maps. I tried with 2 maps so it's another problem. Maybe somebody who has the software working could explain us what to do exactly. Where to install the software? In phone memory or memory card.

Can you see maps by using 'Zoom to' -> 'Entire map'? I know this crack does not work with Chinese maps in many cases. Maybe this build was supposed to work with only European maps?

yes, I can see the map of whole Australia, but when I tried to zoom in, it just showed me nothing (blank)..

I copied all the needed files to folder E:\System\Apps\Route66, then I installed the "c r a c k" (mobile7.sys).

Otherwise everything went fine, but when I start the program I got an error message:
Resource error
Resource files are missing.
Please reinstall the application.

What went wrong, how did I blew the installation? Please help.

Hi!

You must use card reader or data cable with "Data Transfer" mode. Nokia's Pc Suite does not allow copying all files to protected folders like system, resource, private etc.

I did tried using the method u mentioned. Yes, it did works but only for a while b'cos when i tried to load singapore_malaysia map. it just hang and the next time i reload the prog, same problem camme back. Tried to reinstall but to no avail.

I also coppied files (including Athens map and activation patch) to sd card of my N80 and then installed mobile7.sis ON THE PHONE MEMORY :oops: , and then I still got the error message:
Resource error - Resource file are missing. Please reinstall the application.
After I deinstalled and put all file's (including Athens map and activation patch) on sd card and then installed mobile7.sis ALSO ON THE SD_CARD :supz: it works like a charm.:win:

Hi all,

OK, now I have tried the installation many times and using many different methods. And of course, uninstalled before a new try.

I have copied the files to appropriate folder using "File Transfer" -mode, with and without activation key (ActivationKey.dat) and with and without map. And always the same bl**dy error -message. I am starting to be desperate :???: :cry: .

OK, I have the TomTom for 3rd gen installed to my N80 and it is working just great/fine :win: :supz: . But I'd like to refer these to apps, like to see the "pro's and con's" by myself. And like to see what kind of differencies there are in the maps (if any?).

So have somebody installed this application to his/hers N80 and it's working alright? If so, how did you manage to do it?

I will try to install the Navicore as well, to see the differencies between these THREE, if possible. I know that the Navicore map is almost as "old" as the TomTom one (Scandinavia), but like to compare the User Interface, to see which one is better/easier to use.

But it will be absolutely a BIG +, if I can take the Route66 with this comparision.

I've installed both TomTom 6 and Route 66 -see my post here (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1108026&postcount=90) how I managed to do it- on my N80 (latest firmware) and they both work great. However I think TomTom has a much more friendly userinterface.

Hi,

I have read your notes + help to me, but I BLOODY IDIOT DID NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU MEANT. STUPID ME, STUPID ME, STUPI.... :rolleyes: :toimonst:

I installed it as advised, put all the needed files to E:\System\Apps -folder (E:\System\Apps\Route66\...), I also added the activation key (ActivationKey.dat) to E:\System\Apps\Route66 -folder.

All that I did in "File Transfer" -mode. Then I installed the c r a c k (mobile7.sis). So everything as earlier, EXCEPT with DIFFERENT map (Athens.prm). No it is WORKING in my N80 :supz: .

The map I used (Finland.prm), (the link was in this or in that other thread) is NOT compatible, or at least seems not to be compatible with this Route66 version.

guys
i sudgest you try 1 at the time. find 1 map the works.then when you try antother and you get error delete the last map for the route66/maps
using card (mmc readers) or Fexplorer (you can access the system sub dir)
next time you open , all will return back. when you re-install id dose not delete the bad map..... save lots of time and energy

Yes, you absolute did point me to RIGHT direction, you all did. But I was bloody too tired to understand it properly. My brains (or that small raisin between the ears of me) was set to certain mode (I have a map, I have a mapm I have a map,..... (but a wrong one for this c r a c k)) and I really did not understand properly the message you gave me.

Or maybe because I am not native english speaker. But I think, most of you are NOT native english speakers. And still many of you are writing and speaking better english than most of the native one's.

Nevertheless, it is SO NICE to share knowledge with all of you. Best way to learn english, with so many fiends around this forum.

havint installed route 66 last night very late i used it today! it created absurd routes compared to tomtom5 on my other phone, which would rather re-calculate then telling me to trun arouns all the time.

but there are so many great things about this, as i use my n91 in the car with my ipod connection (3.5mm jackplug) i listen too pretty much all my music from the phone, which is great with this app as the route is read out over the stereo even when listening to music, it quietens down the track and the voice talks to you. Also speed warning at 70mph is top as it "bings" over the track telling you to slow down, something that lets this down is custom poi's and poi warnings (speedcameras) i have searched the net to find only route66 7 on a PDA will allow speed cam warnings and mobile does not outline how to do this, or contain the icon required to do this, if anyone find a way pls post up a new thread! loving route66 on my n91 but i think i will keep the 6630 with tomtom5 on it too, until i get tt6 for n91.

Hi friends,

Now I manage to find a working map for Finland, or actually it is a Scandinavia -map. Yesterday I was able to make a quick comparison between Route66 (v7) and TomTom (v6).

Some quick observation's:
User Interface is always a very important issue with mobile software's, in that sense TomTom is MUCH better and easier to use.
The info you see in the display while driving is better in TomTom. You can select yourself what info is visible and what's not, you have also more options to select.
TomTom has more POI's (Points of Interest) to select for, you can also create own one's (for example Speed Camera's in your route :finga: )
Planning the route, and route description after route planned. My opinion is that Route66 is the winner in this case. You can see the route in text format, and go to any point in route of yours if selected.
The map is better in Route66 (now I am talking only about Scandinavia -map). Why it is better? Because it is newer, the current TomTom -map (Scandinavia V650.1111) is at least 2 years old, maybe even older. There are certain new residential area's (neighborhood's) in my home town that cannot be found from TomTom -map, but can be found from Route66 -map.

So which one is my choice, which one I prefer? I think I will continue to use TomTom, and hope that they will renew the Scandinavia -map soon. The user interface is the number one feature for me, what ever the mobile application is. TomTom is easier to use. The second best feature for me is the display and the info on it. In TomTom I can modify the info I want to see, there are also more options to select (or disable) for.

Route66 is not bad at all. It is NOT difficult to use, actually it is quite an easy to use, but not so easy than TomTom. The Scandinavia -map is newer, there are also some other "pro's" (i.e. good feature's) in Route66. It is a very good application, but not as good as TomTom. That is (at least) my opinion.

i had no problems.. it worked fine.. and, much easier than tomtom :) ..
just copy files to mmc.. and run mobile7.sis from phone.. and that's it.. badaboom :D

Did I have problems? OH YES, loads of problems. I was fighting against that "resource" -error, and friends (:ilove: ) in this site directed me to right direction (special thanks to MC123 & Dazza). I just did not understood the content of those messages properly.

I finally understood that the map I used (Finland.prm) was non-compatible with this R66 version. I removed it and put the Athens.prm instead, and Team-O was SOOOOOOO HAPPPPYYYY, it worked :party:

I think I installed the version c r a c k e d for N91, or actually, I am SURE about it. See Dazza's -message (http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showpost.php?p=1106747) (thank you again Dazza :supz: ).

1) Download file "Route_66__updated_by_Daz_.zip (http://rapidshare.com/files/1182892/Route_66__updated_by_Daz_.zip.html)"
2) Follow the instructions (including in the zip -file), i.e. copy those folders (private, resource, sys and system) to MMC.
3) Put a working map to correct -folder (i.e. E:\System\Apps\ROUTE66\Maps). Athens.prm is working, as well as Scandinavia.prm, links to map's inside this very same thread
4) Install the c r a c k, i.e. Mobile7.sys, and here you go

It seems that N91 c r a c k & instructions are valid also to N80. Try to do it same way than I did, hopefully it helps you too.

Hi guys.. it is so nice to hear that u guys can make it work... And I am so frustrated... When I install the mobile7.sys C r a c k on my N91, it shows a popup message: OPDATERINGSFEJL! means UPDATING ERROR!...

Can anybody tell me, what I am doing wrong ???

Same problem to me.When i run mobile7.sis on my girlfriends N93
i get an error message.
All the other steps are correct.(put the routte file on apps/overwritte activation key/put athens map)

Its worked on my N80. I initially had the resource error. I then deleted the apps folder from Systems folder in memory card. Extracted mmc folder again and copied just apps folder again in the same location with maps, then reinstalled the software and it asks for activation. pressed on email activation and entered 16 digits, now it works great

ok.. I'm disappointed.. :( the gps adapter that i tested today.. doesn't like my car's coated (athermic) windshield.. i have to try nokia's LD-3W gps adapter to make a second opinion.. but, for now.. DISAPOINTED ..

nokia lw-3d works great with my nokia phones(6630&n80) no dilay at all i think is the best choice because is made for nokia!

sorry i should have said my memory card was new hence no other applications were installed. however if you try n delete Route66 folder and copy route 66 folder back in the apps folder with a map, it works.

A way to check if your route66 will return an resource error is to restart phone and copy the route66 folder from your memory card back into hard drive, if it says cannot copy then it will return error and in that case you will need to delete that folder form memory card and unpack mmc rar file & copy the fresh route66 folder into the memory card. anyway this worked for me

For thoes who are still have problems installing this is how i done:

1) i install the update (mobile7.sis) on memory card (it is possible not to work from the first time it may give some error, but dont worry try again it wil work)
2) i use data transfer mode to copy on mmc only ROUTE66 folder (copy ROUTE 66 folder on your mmc under system/apps folders! )
3)copy a map *.prm in your mmc under system/apps/route66/maps
4)copy Activation.dat file on your mmc in route66 folder (u will find the file on this thread)
5)HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!:supz:

this are the steps u must follow in order to install route66 on n80, this is the right order!!

FINALLY WORKING ON N91 I USED THE UPDATES FROM DAZ, AND THE BENELUX MAP, AND I CHANGED THE CONFIGURATION FILE *.INI IN THE ROUTE66 FOLDER(CHANGE THE NAME OF THE MAP IN TO THE MAP YOU ADDED INTO MAPS FOLDER) THAN DISCONNECT N91 AND START APPLICATION

What is the "sis" -name you see in app man? Is it something silly like "a397723.sis"? If so, you need to remove it manually.

How to do? You need to connect the memory card either to memory card reader or connect the mobile to PC via USB cable using File Transfer -mode. Then search all the items which have the same name (i.e. "a397723.sis"? or something like that) and remove/delete them manually (all files and folders).

You don't. You just have to check it manually. First try with a map that is working (mine worked with Athens.rpm) and then try to install another map from the program's preferences. If the program closes it means it's not compatible, so you'll have to delete it. It happened for me with France.rpm which was not compatible with my version.

I am having the same problem here with my N91 :( . I have used the updated by daz file, followed the instructions copying all the files and installing a map but when I try to install it with pc suite or with the sis file on my phone I get the update error msg. Can the people with N91's that have got this working post how they did it? I am going to try with the files at the beginning of the thread.

I have got it to install now but only after I decided to wipe everything off my N91 and reformat the hard disc and start from scratch. After copying over the folders and the UK map, I unplugged the usb cable and it began to install automatically :lol: but I was soon back to square one as the sis file kept saying update error :cry: . When I start r66 it asks me for the activation code which I cannot get past. Any ideas from anyone?

Got it working on my n91 without the update error! I used the files on the first page of this thread which I cut and pasted onto the hard drive in mass storage mode. I did not install the map and I instead tried to install the crack and this time it worked without any errors. Went back to mass storage mode and installed the UK map and I got past the activation key. This has worked for me on my n91 so if others are having problems with the update error msg try the installation in this order.

i was really disappointed first when tomtom new ver didnt work on it and worked on other mobiles like N80 etc... so thought like why did i had to go for 3250... also at that time tried Route66 but that too didnt work.... but with this excellent cracked version... IT WORKED CHARM..... EXCELLENTS ALL U FRIENDS... THANKS AGAIN...

i installed route 66 once on my n91 but after i formated the hard drive , i tried to install it again only this time when i try to install the cracked mobile7.sis it says "certificate may not be yet valid or expired, or date's phone not right"

Good day

I have both Route66 and tomtom on my n80 from here thx guys "thats like $500 on software"

anyway i am using the australian map in sydney but the problem is that my route66 is slow compared to tomtom in calculating routes and then in refreshing the screen "like i hear turn left and then get the screen of where i am 2 seconds later"

is this normal and is everyone getting the same thing or is it just me"

and also when i drive and dont follow instruction tomtoom recalculate track pretty wuick but route66 sometimes does it and most of the times it crashes...

anyway if someone expriences the same thing and fixed it i ll be please to hear about it

one thing i like in route66 though is the voice and how fluid it is compared to tomtom

to answer the question about the pause when the spoken instructions are being given using tomtom, its not just you its all of us. I think its a beta release and maybe works better on the retail versoin. Its more of an annoyance than a problem for me. As for route66, I haven't properly tested it as I doesn't support full uk postcode and so for me is not as good as tomtom.

I think I didnt type properly

the problem is in route66 and not tomtom and in tomtom everything is fine "australia map" and the software probably runs as something liek "15fps" where in route66 itsd like 1fps and every there is no flow of the 3D and everything is like so slow to update "graphic wise" so i get an instruction and the graphic side didnt get to the corner where i need to turn and tomtom is fine and updates corectly

also tomtom is really wuick in calculating routes and then updating them where my route66 calculate a route really slowly and then update it once if dont follow it andf then just crashes the next tim i dont fllow the new route

when i think tomtom is beta and route66 is not i wonder if it should be the other way around

and this is a software that cost like $250 or more and poor people that actually buy it

thanks man for sharing, it works good in Romania. The only problem I have with my N80 is that the route 66 is a little bit slowly, I mean when I'm using a route the phone shows lately - about 5 seconds - the place where I should be. Is there a way to make route66 to react in the proper way?

Maybe it has to do with your miniSD card?! I read in some posts that using a 1 or 2 GB miniSD can slow things down a little. Why don't you try a 512 MB or a 128 MB miniSD if you have one (or borrow one from a friend), just to see if things don't improve? Eastern Europe map can be used with a 128 MB memory card.

It is rather rubbish to browse the map though and hard to use compared to TomTom's map browsing

Actually I think that for offline use R66 is better then TT :shock:

But in any other aspects TT is A LOT better ;)

The map is quite big, even when compressed. So its gonna be a bit difficult to upload it to here. I had similar problems with rapidshare because my bandwith is not fast enough. Had a buddy do the download for me. i will see what I can come up with.

Ok, I downloaded the ISO file from that torrent you gave me, and I Installed R66 directly from that image, after that I copyed the map for eastern europe in the right folder, put a 16 digits activation code and everything works perfect on my N73.
I just don't know how to see a 3D view thats all, don't know what option should I choose. It seems Ok, not a very special one but I think It's enough for most ppl.

I shall see how it works and then I'll try that TomTom software that others talk about to see if there are any major differences.
For now, I'll get used with R66.

Regarding the 3D view; you need to go to preferences- select the map menu - then set 3D perspective to "ON". Also you need to set the "Angle" that you would like to view the map at. Let me know if there is anything else.

Anyways in comparison with my preview GPS MyWay 3000 (that model had an mp3+avi player and picture viewer+games), R66 V7-mobile is much faster, and easyer to start than what I used before. MyWay 3000 had only a 65k display compared with N73 which has much more :P

maybe that map from your friend was actually empty... U should Download those files from the begining of this thread, or if u search this thread more accurate, u will find a link to a torrent file where u can download the iso file which contains the whole DVD BackUp (1.9 GB) - all maps included (I think) - at least I did so.

After u have downloaded those 9 files u will extract them with Winrar into one single map (select all-->extract to). In that map where u extracted those 9 files u will find 2 maps: crack + mmc. The "mmc" map u will copy it to the root of your mini sd card in System (it is recomended to do it using a card reader).
The other map "crack", inside it, there is a .sys file that file u will install on the phone using PC Suite.
Then is Done... If they'll ask for a code, enter a 16 digits number

I have copied a map from a friend with some maps called:

Route66[1].Mobile7.v7.30.Multilanguage.S60v3.SymbianOS9.1.Cr acked.Read.NFO-BiNPDA.part01 untill part 09.

I can't unzip the files because it look likes they are empty.

Must I use another program to install this software?
I use a Nokia N73.

It looks like that this is the Mobile 7 program, not the maps! :lol:
It should be in RAR format, not zip. You need WINRAR program (h**p://www.rarlab.com/) to unRar them and to put all the parts together.

And of corse to make it work you need a map as well ;)

I've installed Route66 on my N91 and it works fine. But after some minutes I get the following message on my screen:"GPS not Found". I don't understand this because the Bluetooth gps is still connected. Is there something wrong with my GPS or with the route 66 on my n91?

i had the same problem with my n73. i read that upgrading my firmware would sort it out - it didn't. try upgrading your firmware, it may help with an n91.

i now only use tomtom 6 - much better, works perfectly and dead simple to use.

so it's very easy,
just copy everything in your mmc root in system-apps and copy the map(ending in .prm) in the map "maps" then install the crack using your pc suite. it will ask a activation code, just choose by internet and enter a random 16 digit line ( e.g. 169d753req643h20) and voila...

works like a charm on the 3250:ilove:

Did anyone have success installing custom POI? It seems that those files should be installed in <card_name>:\POIS\<map_name>\*.* Where <map_name> is the map filename that we use (E.g. Britain for Britain.prm).

At least on my installation this is not working. Have anyone succeed in making it ?

e/system/route66/maps.......the folder should be there.....try to make a folder and put the map into....but if u install the application in the right way the folder must be there!

searching this forum i have seen many diffrent ways to install that application.
first i think it depends on what symbian u have. i have an n80 and FIRST i've install the crack file and SECOND the program from the first page.
it is possible not to work from the first time(the crack file give some error, but in the end it will work) try this and maybe it will work!

"INSTALL"...copy/paste using a card reader or in data transfer mode!
your folder should be like this:e/system/apps/route66....in here copy the folders u found in the rar file from the first page.
the map should go in maps folder

ok, lets see....
open winrar...select all 9 files(ctrl+click)...then click "extract to"...after that u will have one file or dir.if u have another rar file repeat the first step until it remains one folder! in this folder u will have 2 dir:"put this on mmc" and "install this"

now what i was trying to say is that u must first install the file in "install this" folder
then using a card reader or "data transfer mode from your phone" copy all 4 dir.into the phone mmc e:/ (the dir are:system,sys,resource,private)

last step, put the map *.prm into e:/system/apps/route66/maps
a route66 icon will apear in your phone!......enjoy

ps:i suggest to format mmc first and when u copy the files "overright" them
its important to use a card reader or "data transfer" mode because with pc suite u dont have access into system folder!!
