Greetings to all!

I've recently purchased this laptop and was wondering if it's bluetooth function could be enabled?

Read from an article that this function was disabled by acer on this model. If anyone knows how to enable it, please share your thoughts. Thanks!

I`ve got the same 2428AWXMi and the same problem. And there are no subscription on official site at all. But in addition there was no disk with the drivers in package. And now I wondering, there I can find driver for bluetooth? And no one knows nothing...:-(

My laptop had a disc in the package but no bluetooth drivers on the disc(plus targus bag and asus 5 in 1 card reader).

Had a technician friend install my windows software and setup my wifi and he mentioned that there were also some of his IT workmates who purchased this same model and didn't know how to make the bluetooth work. They said acer must have disabled it from the motherboard. Kinda silly to put a bluetooth logo on the laptod and not impliment it dont you think?

When i get more info on how to make the bluetooth work will post it here. Thanks for the reply and have a nice day

Hello there. Talked to the store where i bought my laptop(Makati, Philippines) and they said Acer disabled the bluetooth feature for my model. Last week i had a chat with my dad's IT technican and he said he could check the laptop for me and look if Acer just disabled the bluetooth feature or really didn't include the bluetooth device inside. The only drawback is that it might void the one year warranty(and travellers warranty) since he has to open-up the laptop and tear up the security stickers.

Haven't brought it back to him yet and i'm thinking of using the usb bluetooth dongle i use for my desktop for the moment till my warranty expires. But i'm also thinking of upgrading the ram to 1gb from the 256mb it came with to make work it faster. When i do, i'll have him take a look at the laptop and will post his findings here. :)

Got an aspire 16xx and same stupid thing ... on the left side of wireless buttom thereīs BT button wich we press and says no device, red on the manual that itīs not included on the factory and i see no optionals on their site so i used my usual conceptronics 100mw usb dongles wich didnīt asked for any drivers at all, just plug and BT device and wait some seconds for XP install the proper drivers, after it finishes itīs ready to use.
On the other hand it will not conflict with my modded concptronics wich i conect to the grid antena (24dbīs) internal device doesnīt let us play without opening.
In the end itīs very out of taste to see an unusefull buttom looking to us and do nothing.
All materials this days are so poor and fragile, competition make them get rid of quality and other things as this.
Weīr getting ripped off everyday in everyway.

My 60gb ipod was assembled in China but why did it came so expensive ? itīs realy a nice big piece of "tech" for the price it costs ...

Yes it's so annoying to see a BT button that's just for show. Better not put it there in the first place. Thank goodness that the wi-fi really works.
