I know there is an ipod accessories in market - ipod av connection kit, but is there any cheaper alternatives to there. Anyway those are just cables. buying the actual one from apple is too costly.

get an a/v cable from the DIY shop or ace hardware. it has 3 RCA connectors on one end and a baby jack on the other. use the red (not the yellow) rca jack for video, then the yellow and white for the audio. cable costs around P120.00

This worked for me:

I used a friend's t.v cable found in either Nokia N93 or N93i and then get an Auxillary Cable. That's all.

Now connect the T.V cable to the T.V connectingthe Red head to the video port and not the Yellow head. Then connect the rest heads (Yellow and Black/White) to the remaining ports. Now when you're done, connect the head that looks like the head of a head phone which would be a perfect fit to your ipod, that is where you see a head phone.

The second procedure is to connect the two ends of the auxillary cable which is either red/white or red/black to the back of the Hi-Fi system and then connect the other end of the auxillary cable to the headphone port of your T.V.

Now what you've simply done is to transfer sound from your T.V to your Hi-Fi system.

Lastly go to the vieo you want to play and then click on T.V on so that this appears on the T.V.

Remember that you can only watch the video from your ipod on the AV1/AV2 Channels if you've connected to the ports respectively.

Any confusions....i'll be willing to help you out.

swtqtnel's tips is similar to megam1x's above. the difference is swtqtnel use tv cable from N93 while megam1x use retail cable that can be bought everywhere.

i've tried tips from megam1x, and not working. only sound come out from my tv, but no picture.
well, i'll try swtqtnel's tips after i found tv cable from N93.

by the way, i've used retail cable that babyjack is "L shaped" (like surya15 said). but not working either.. :(

Setting up your iPod video options lets you control how you export video. The iPod Video Options screen selects how your iPod handles video file playback.

To open these settings, choose Videos -> Video Settings from your main iPod menu. This screen offers three settings: TV Out, TV Signal and Widescreen. Adjust to produce the video playback style you need.

Videos -> Video Settings controls the way your iPod plays back video files
TV Out

Whenever you play a video file, your iPod must make a choice. Video iPods either play video on the built-in screen or they transmit a video signal out of the microphone jack. They don't do both. The TV Out option controls which behavior occurs.

Use this setting to choose from:

* No. Playback remains on the iPod itself.
* Yes. A TV signal is produced.
* Ask. The iPod prompts you whenever you play a video file.

I bought a 3m RCA-baby video/stereo (3way) worth Php90.00 from Raon, Quiapo , Manila. It's working but the video out is the red RCA I just cut it at the middle and reconnect to correct the color coding and shorten it at the same time. Be sure to follow Og2's instruction above. Also, remove the rubber case of your Ipod, if any, so that the baby plug inserts fully in the jack.
