Hi,
I am looking for a program that can record video from the front (small) camera whilst running in the background on the N70, I have tried ETI Camcorder II and Philips Camcorder but neither work, ETI just crashes out of the program and Philips locks the phone up.

Hey guys, I have found that ETI Camcorder II v2.02 works on N70 no problems. Although I just upgraded to Software v5.0638.3.0.1 and the front video camera feed is totally crap, less than half the quality it was with v5.0616.

Also, the audio quality is pretty crap with this recorder and when it is running the mic cannot be used by other programs like Alon MP3 Dictaphone, however if you edit one of the profiles you can make it leave the mic alone. The profile I use is shown below:

quality = 32
buffersize = 20480
channels = 2
samplerate = 8000
Notice that the channels is set to 2, this causes Camcorder to report "feature not supported" and it then makes no attempt to record audio leaving the mic free for a better audio recorder like Dictaphone. Newer versions may support 2 channels, if so just make it 3, 4, 5, etc... until you find a value that works.

Yep, it worked but was completely unusable, way too much lag, the phone slowed down in general considerably.

hi rockin_n70.. u mention u use alon mp3 dictaphone.. may i noe does e song resume upon incoming call/sms? izit e oni mp3 player able to resume in n70? :idea:

yes eti camcorder 2nd version works ...and record in background...the trick is after insllaing the software, you need to press 1 and then 00 to register it...now press record button and then press application button, to send it to back..now it will record fully....i tried it and working fully....and it wont crash anymore..the only problem in this is it is not using back side camera only...the front camera will do the job...
