With previous N80 Firmware updates, some apps also don't appears if recommended phoenix version haven't be used...

you cant do anything with these codes yet, the IE firmware isnt available for download yet via Nokia Software Updater, the only way to get IE firmware at present is to flash it manually with Phoenix

u can find wlan setting and yahoo inside Download! application....flirck in inside the phone...if u choose send on gallery u will find a new option like "send it on web", if u select this it will open a new app which allow u to host images in flickr account or in another Atom Host Service!

bigkaban, this update can't be made for now via FOTA, you need phoenix and also I think PERHAPS it could be made via Nokia Software Updater changing first the product code of your N80 to the corresponding one...

ok guys ,so I tried to change the product code with NSS et gsm magic ...I enabled GSM-magic ,put a new code,click on "write" ,ssays done ,but the product code of my cell still the samev4.0623.0.42;;;;

I had problems downloading the file thru Rapidshare, it says always wait for 20 or so minutes and after that it would have error. Megaupload is blocked here in saudi arabia. can someone upload it here in bits with winrar. Please i really need to know what's in it in N80IE. i dont wanna buy a new phone again just to have an "i" suffix.

ok so I did it with Diego and Phoenix cracked and I update the Firmware..now I got 4.0632.0.38

It's more stable but I'm still testing.....

I appreciate the effort man:supz: , i installed the newer version of emule and it runs fine(the program) but it didn't download anything. It is stuck in "waiting....." although in .......v15.01_SW4...... is showing 3 sources but nothing happens. I guess somebody else here might upload in the forum part by part.:cry:

I asked my nokia service point if it was possible for them to flash my N80 and make it a N80 IE. They told me NO. So the only solution is to flash it myself with phoenix but it will cut the warranty. If later on I have a problem with any component of the phone (hradware: screen...) is it possible to flash the phone again with the normal N80 soft (and change the product code if necessary) so that the service point see nothing ?

Thanks for this thread. I'm in South Africa and I own the N80 Pearl Black. I have recently updated it via the Nokia Software Updater then followed by FOTA!

Now I want to upgrade it to N80IE - APAC since I'm in South Africa.
Can someone please post a simple step by step user guide for someone like me who haven't flashed a phone before (except with NSU).

when i was in 4.0623.041/42 i had 20-19-18 after boot without any application runing...and 17-16 with some application runing like "autolock" and "handyclock" and the browser never crashes like on the .0632....i was able too, to surfing wtih a visual radio runing! now it's IMPOSSIBLE...

i hope nokia will fix this, or i'll sell my lovely N80...

Are u having a dial-up connection? Me it takes almost 4 hrs to download the first part and 1 and half hrs for the second part. My problem is that the v15.01. it doesn't complete the download. when it reach 60% it cuts off. can somebody upload the v15.01 here. It's only 50.1MB maybe guys u can make it to like 6 parts please.

At last i updated mine.... and i also had a new OS installed. I didn't install the v15.01, only the 15.00 EMEA but it runs ok. although no wlan wizard and yahoo go preinstalled. Dinan, same problem here and i used phoenix. Brought my N80 to the NSS but they couldn't manage to restore the original firmware. Now my phone ist directly at Nokia to repair it.

Edit: Got a new N80 now by warranty, Nokia couldn't fix it. :supz:

I flashed my N80 to 15.00 EMEA first then installed the 15.01 version and I flashed it again cause I thought we had to do it that way.

How to check now that I really have the 15.01 version cause neither Yahoo! Go nor Wlan Wizard were preinstalled.

es_hicham, they don't get preinstalled, you have to go to "Internet" menu and then use "downloads" ...update catalogs... and get what you wants...

I've got a Nokia N80 Silver. I would like to upgrade it with a N80 Internet edition firmware. I live in Belgium, so I would like a unbranded version with the following languages: English, French and Dutch. Someone knows which productcode I need to change it in?

A second question is: I've read the guide about flashing the phone with Phoenix. According the guide I need the following files to flash my phone:
Choose the .FPSX file for the "Image File"
Choose the .V0# file for the "PPM File"
I've download the EMEA firmware here. But when I unrar it, it gives me an .EXE file. No .FSPX or .V0 files? So where can I find those files? Or how can I flash my phone with Phoenix into a N80i...

on Phone language and Writing language should show chinese traditional or conventional if the firmware support chinese character.
FOTA is firmware over the air. this means you can update your firmware direct from phone without PC. I'm not sure where the FOTA located on IE firmware. but on .42 is located on connectivity => Device Manager.

Try to resetting the phone pressing simultaneously the keys: "3" + "*" + "GREEN KEY(CALL)" while power on the phone until it shows "Enter City..."

I think this was the correct key combination to do it but perhaps someone could confirm or google it...

Try this first and in second way you could flash it again using EURO1 or use the DEAD phone flashing way...

Hi I solved it by, hard formatting the device. Press * 3 Call and Power Up.

Ok, short update...I've been able to succesfully flash the phone again but this time in Euro1, with the V01 package. But still no Dutch on my phone.
Please can someone tell me which package I should flash with, in order to get Dutch. I need it for predictive text.

You need the V02 file, this one is dutch. As I remember it correctly, you get it when you select Euro3. Check that you have the V02 file when selecting that one from the drop down list. I flashed it yesterday and it works fine.

As for the error in Phoenix, there is an option to flash it again I'm sure. I had this same error a while ago when I flashed with a wrong language as well. Unfortunately I can't remember which option I used but it was quite obvious because I found it out myself. At least there's hope...

maybe because your service provider is charging by kilobytes of download. I think most countries do that except on 3G and HSDPA network, or perhaps the same.

I have upgraded my N80 to N80IE (APAC), but i get alot of noise during calls. The voice quality is fine when i use speaker mode. Does anyone have problem with voice quality after they upgraded to N80IE (APAC), im using v14(HK).

I Have got the same problem, but i ve got the euro version. When someone is calling me the sound it make a noise (like there is no ram) so mobile can't play the sound.

just updated my N80 to N80 Internet Edition via NSU using the European Product Code. Just use NSS to write the Europe Product Code then use NSU to get ur firmware updated.

I also did the same thing. I write my N80 with NSS to change the product code to Singapore N80 Internet Edition (Code: 0539363) and use NSU to update my firmware. This new version is much cooler than my previous N80 firmware. I can see the difference even in speed.

My N80 Internet Edition now shows as:
V 4.0632.0.38

no support of chinese...
only support en,fr,de,it n es. euro product code...

I think the available N80IE only for European Product code and not for APAC at this time.
You can use NSS to change the PC to Euro and upgrade the firmware.

Any experience very degraded battery standby times after flashing N80 to N80IE? Previously my standby time was 4 days, and now after flashing to IE, it only lasts 1.5 to 2 days max.

when the NSU said your firmware is up to date, does it give you an option to re-install your firmware? because if it is yes, just choose that option and re-install your firmware. If the original Product Code is N80, then after firmware re-installation, your firmware should be N80 and not N80IE.

No, It doesnt give me the reinstall option...still crapy N80ie firmware.

i didn't have your problem when upgrading mine to IE. however, i read someone in this forum has the same problem as yours. sorry i forgot from which thread. no need to worry though since you can download the yahoo! go apps in this forum. :)

Now u dun even need to change product code u can straight away update using NSU from n80 to n80ie

now nokia makes ALL older version of N80 into N80IE with the official software upgrade.. i'm using Nokia software updater to update now.. hopefully everything goes well.. haha.. i think nokia is doing this to improve all older n80 to IE coz they basically look the same and people tend to confuse both.. so making it same is better..

When I run the NUS it says my software is up to date

I've ran it back through the NSU and the firmware reads as 4.0632.0.38

Is this the latest one as its the same version i started with but obviously its the original nokia one?

4.0632.0.38 is the latest N80IE firmware. if you update your firmware via NSU, yes it is original nokia one. in fact, if you have N80IE in the first place, the firmware already original nokia firmware version 4.0632.0.38. no update or upgrade needed.

but had to re load the firmware to get rid of the shitty optus firmware

you can try use NSS to change the product code to APAC1 generic product code and use NSU to do the upgrade.

Nokia Software Update provides update from n80 to n80ie. If you need to change product code do it before update with NSS as I did.
Now I have n80ie:)
