Set during the Normandy Breakout campaign, Call of Duty 3 tasks you with guiding a troop of four soldiers through a series of eight missions.
With objectives varying from defending territory and pushing back the front line to more subtle sabotage attacks behind enemy lines, the game promises a variety of play styles, shifting the focus between individuals and squad-based manoeuvres.
Call of Duty 3 will also offer plenty of weapons and equipment with which to go about your missions, including binoculars for sighting artillery strike co-ordinates, sniper rifles for picking off targets and grenades for a more direct approach.
Whilst some of these elements made it into the previous edition of the game, the transformable map that enables you to blast your way into closed off areas with explosives should prove a welcome addition. Also improved squad AI and a friendly tutorial mode.
