yesterday when i woke up and turn my screen on (i always have pc on) i just saw a stupid blue screen with the message:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
0X(put a ot of zeros here)D1, 0X(..)0, 0X(...)2, 0X(...)7, and another one i forgot of.
i get that now EVERYTIME i turn pc on, it shows that screen or it automatically reboots when it gets to desktop, and its pissing me off (im on my sis pc)
i checked some other forums for this problem, and they say its cause by recent changes to system or adding new hardware drivers and the point IS i haven added anything it was just from one day to another and i didnt change anythin or installed anything even (and the funny thing is that the hard drive works normally on my sis pc but then i get it to mine and i get the same screen) ive already uninstalled like half the programs installed, graphic card driver, sound driver, router driver, ran a scan disk, a defrag, various spyware runs, restore system,
use last working config, and nothing still same screen, and for the bad part they in most other forums they say a format wont fix it( hope it does cos im gonna format if i dont fnd any solution soon) all that said anyone can help :(?

how old of your pc? the best efficient way is to format your pc.as i known, i don't think so by formatting your pc won't fix the problem. otherwise, rather than you're keeping finding some solutions.regards.

Did you overclock your pc?
set default settings to bios, and set your settings again (e.x raid or sata2, controlers etc). check your ram speed in bios. check for update of your bios. use your winxp cd and boot to repair and check your HDD ("chkdsk /p") . Check your boot sector and set it to default "fixboot" "fixmbr" .

ALWAYS ON? are u crazy?

no hardware is designed to run home pc's for that long! ur pc needs rest, respect it like a friend, dont trash it like this!

[Only registered and activated users can see links]

after all of that, if pc's still shows blue screen, do debug and then format and reinstall windows. only option.

i had some trojans, my pc is clean now but i still get same error, blue screen or restart but at least i found what triggers it, if i turn on pc with internet connection it crashes after welcome screen, if i just unplug phone wire from router or network wire from pc it loads normally.
then i have another problem pc is like 2 or 3 months old only but i think the motherboard its faulty or something cos it doesnt let me press any key after bios screen, i can press del and enter the bios, but i cant press F8 for safe mode or move between safe mode boot options (safe mode appears when i turn on pc in xp loading screen) i noticed this like a week or so after buyin the pc but i though maybe it had the safe boot trigger in another key but it just doesnt work or bios have some keyboard block option im not aware of
i tried to format but it doesnt let me boot from xp CD either, i placed it first in the bios but then anyways says press enter to boot from cd and i can spamm enter that it wont work (i tried with other 3 different working keyboards, same problem)

hmmm k... when u get blue screen can u easily restart .. do u get any hair dryer sound from the cpu... hair dryer is just to say tht its loud and scary... nothing else.. hee hee
i got it.. simple... u need to do this it shld work fine..
1> remove all dust from cpu.
2> open cpu.. remove ram.. clean with cloth and fix it back
3> check if the earthing is right.. tht causes major problems..
this shld do it..

seems zone alarm fixed it seems trojan infected wdfmr.exe (windows driver management something) and tries to change somethings in a file i denied it with zone alarm and it doesnt rebbot now, but i still cant boot up on safe mode (only with msconfig) or from xp disk
theres no dust matter lol pc its only like 2 months old and has like 5 fans besides i checked it since i had to take hdd to old comp to add the safe mode command with msconfig.
i just got a message saying services.exe is tryin to access the internet, i denied it lol what does this program do?

hmmn, i'm not so sure about earthing. dont think pc wud start everytime if there was no earthing...

@cloud084, do u use a wireless keyboard? and did u try with a corded one?

if u can enter bios, then change the bios quick boot option to off/disable. that might be one cause of the keyboard not responding.

when i faced such issues, it was mostly when people were trying too hard to press the f8 key, u dont need to be pressing it all the time or more than twice i say...

and u say w/o network connected pc boots normally? it cud be a blown ic or something on the ethernet adapter(if u see light at pc end when u connect cable to pc, then this is not the case, hopefully!)

before xp reinstall, try boot to safe mode with networking. remove network adapters from device manager and reboot. hopefully windows will automatically reinstall drivers after normal restart.

allow services.exe for zone alarm.

its an essential windows sys file. its basic job is to keep an event log of ur system.

good to know u figured out the zone alarm thing with wdfmr.exe

now try wot i say about the keyboard in previos post. good luck! and do give some rest to ur pc now that its fixed! only a suggestion...

This is most likely a driver or hardware problem. Unable to map to hardware IRQ. computers can run all the time no problem, my server and this machine do all the time :) always on. they do fine hehe.

Stop errors usually occur because of either driver problems or hardware malfunctions :) check to ensure you have the latest drivers and try to make sure they are windows xp certified to ensure no problems.
